  1. We are sailing in October, and driving to Port Canaveral. We are not staying in a hotel near Port Canaveral (we are staying in Savannah, GA, and then driving the rest of the way in the morning). Could I please get some options/recommendations for parking/where to park that morning, and how much it costs? We will also have a 3 year old and a 1 year old with us. Thanks!

  2. We are sailing on the Freedom of the Seas Oct 4th through Oct 11th, 2015. Someone on my roll call mentioned that they planned their cruise with their kids that week because it's "fall break". I've heard of spring break of course, but not fall break. Now I'm concerned that it's going to be like spring break on the ship that week. Could anyone who's been on a cruise during "fall break" share their experience? Thanks!

  3. You may have already read my "Which Beaches?" post - this is a follow-up to that. We are stopping at St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Which beaches do I want to AVOID because they are topless/nude? Not because I necessarily care that my 3 year old and 1 year old would see, but because I don't want my husband seeing someone else's boobs or maybe more! Thanks!

  4. We are booked on the Freedom of the Seas with an Eastern Caribbean itinerary. I would like to get some feedback on the local beaches of St. Thomas and St. Maarten. On my previous cruises, we took a taxi to the beaches rather than paying for an excursion and it was SO much cheaper. We would like to do that again, especially b/c we will have a 3-year-old and 1-year-old with us and will probably only spend a couple of hours at the beach, rather than all day (and also need the option to leave whenever we want/need to). Would like to get some feedback on favorite beaches and which beaches have the shortest cab rides from the port. If you remember approximately how much the cab ride was, that would be great, too. Thanks!

  5. Hi everyone,

My husband and I are planning a cruise for next fall. We will be traveling with our 3 year old and 1 year old. We researched different cruise lines and dates to find a cruise within our budget. We are also driving, rather than flying, all the way from Ohio to save money. I have cruised before (before I had kids), so I know how the gratuity works on a cruise, but I found out our gratuity will be $84 per person, totaling $336. I thought that seemed high for a 3 year old, who won't eat much, and a 1 year old, who will hardly eat anything. The RC rep said that we are able to adjust the 3 year old and 1 year old's gratuity. Should I, or would that make me a cheapskate? Has anyone ever done this, and if so, what do you think would be considered fair? Thanks!

  6. "cb at sea" recommended the Oasis/Allure (but didn't mention the Freedom), who have nurseries for the under 3 crowd. Does the Freedom have a nursery for the under 3 crowd as well? And does the Oasis for sure have a baby pool(s) for those in little swimmers? Thanks!

  7. Hi everyone!

My husband and I are thinking about planning a cruise for next Fall. Our daughters will be 3 1/2 years old and 1 1/2 years old. We're wondering if it's even do-able with 2 toddlers. There is a lot of information out there about which cruise lines are best for that age range (toddlers), so I thought I'd come here and ask experienced cruisers! We are also looking for information about cruise lines with "drop-off" programs. Any and as much information and shared experiences is appreciated. Also, please share any not-so-good experiences. Thanks so much, and I look forward to reading your comments!
