  1. Can anyone please advise the best train from London to Southampton on a Sunday ( Arvia - 18th Aug). I am initially travelling from Purley and there seems to be multiple choices available to me. Do I make my way to Waterloo or connect at Clapham?  any advice gratefully appreciated.

  2. When reading P&O`s rules on taking mobility aids or disability aids on board there is much ambiguity. Can anyone clarify please?  I am not talking about Mobility scooters or non folding wheelchairs because your clearly need an accessible cabin to store these. When visiting ports. depending on amount of walking involved I might use a folding travel wheelchair or a walking stick and on occasions possibly an arm crutch. Are these allowed in standard cabins? Do P&O have to be notified before I can bring them? It seems that any mobility issues have to be notified but what constitutes a mobility issue? For example, is a limp a mobility issue? Is an inability to run classed as an issue? Any advice gratefully received.

  3. These doors are intended for maintenance access between balconies for crew use so are only narrow. Yes your cabin steward will open it for you but if you intend to create a bigger overall balcony effect you will be disappointed.  it is not possible to move a chair through these doors and balconies are just not large enough for three chairs anyway. Easy access from cabin to cabin is the only benefit I`m afraid.

  4. I was able to book seats today for Arvia k326 dec 22 to Barbados, They cost £90 return and seating configuration is 3-3-3. Interestingly, the seats at the front aircraft are blocked out and therefore unavailable for booking. I wonder why? these could possibly be premium quality seats. The displayed seating plan is also very confusing by indicating that some centre seats in the window sections are also not for booking. Can anyone throw any light on this ?

  5. Been trying for 12 hours now to book flight seats on Maleth flights following notification email from P&O to do so if Wish. Cannot get through. Function unavailable due to a temporary issue. The help phone number supplied does not exist and P&O robot replier is neither use nor ornament. Travel agent cannot help either. Is anyone having any better luck in seat booking?   kev

  6. Having eventually come to terms with Maleth Aero being my transport for my Christmas cruise to Caribbean, I am now informed that pre booking of seats is not possible. I must check with Maleth for baggage allowance and seat pre booking if it exists, This is turning out to be a total disaster. Maleth`s website doesn`t tell me anything. So, can anyone enlighten me on just what the baggage allowance is and what the seat configuration is on their  A330 aircraft since they seem to be unsure themselves.  Quickly losing the will to live so any advice gratefully accepted. I am assured that I will be fed during the 8 hour flight but no mention of any bar service. Maybe this gets cancelled next.  Bah Humbug !

  7. I know it has been on this forum before but I cannot find it now. Can anyone please advise if I can restrict the spending power of a teenage child using their card onboard?

Ideally, I would like to give them so much every few days. Is this something that can be arranged with customer service desk? Has anyone experienced this?

    many thanks, kev

  8. Further to my comments on August 30th re booking flight seats. The booking date is less than a week away but no flight details have been released yet.  Does anyone  know if the seat booking facility still allows seat booking 14 weeks before departure or must the actual flight details be published.?

  9. HI all I am very interested in some of you having flight details because I have none. Which day are you flying out and where from and what flight details do any of you have please. I am going out Friday DEC 22nd from Manchester. Is anyone else on this flight and do they have any details?

that’s what I was thinking but I think they can also be behind or infront of you etc. will have to see when we can get onto the seat allocatation bit but we aren’t 14 weeks away yet.

another question though as this thread made me look see if we have the times for the flights yet and we do. Yay. It’s with tui. Never flown with them before. Anyway the flight home is 6.20pm from Barbados.
so do we get kicked out of the cabin at 8am like usual (I think it was 8am last time) and what time is it likely that we have to go from the ship on the bus to the plane.

never done a cruise like this before. Always been from Southampton

  11. We once saw someone being helicoptered off the ship to hospital. We`ve also seen quayside ambulances waiting for ship to dock.  Once we saw a coffin being removed from the ship. My wife and I ( both elderly) got to thinking about what if it happened to us. What happens to the traumatised spouse now with his/her suitcases at her side on the quayside? What if any help does P&O provIde?

Hotel accommodation would be required in the vicinity of the hospital as well as transportation etc. Does the Port Agent help in any way. The more we think about the possible implications, it is quite frightening, especially if we were outside of Europe. There does not appear to be much - if any postings on this subject.

Has anyone had this kind of experience that they wouldn`t mind sharing with us. I would be very grateful for any information. kind regards, kev

  12. I know this topic comes up fairly frequently but how do some people manage to book seat locations several days before me?  Is the booking facility available earlier than P&O inform me that it is?  Any advice please, Also, can anyone advise on Prem Econ seating  pros and cons,  thank you  kev

  13. I know that these cabins are located on decks 8( promenade)and deck nine. I can see that those on deck 8 may suffer some intrusion from passing passengers but is this the case? would it be better to have one on deck 9? I would appreciate any views from those who have experienced either deck.  thanks
