  1. Having eventually come to terms with Maleth Aero being my transport for my Christmas cruise to Caribbean, I am now informed that pre booking of seats is not possible. I must check with Maleth for baggage allowance and seat pre booking if it exists, This is turning out to be a total disaster. Maleth`s website doesn`t tell me anything. So, can anyone enlighten me on just what the baggage allowance is and what the seat configuration is on their A330 aircraft since they seem to be unsure themselves. Quickly losing the will to live so any advice gratefully accepted. I am assured that I will be fed during the 8 hour flight but no mention of any bar service. Maybe this gets cancelled next. Bah Humbug ! kev
  2. I know it has been on this forum before but I cannot find it now. Can anyone please advise if I can restrict the spending power of a teenage child using their card onboard? Ideally, I would like to give them so much every few days. Is this something that can be arranged with customer service desk? Has anyone experienced this? many thanks, kev
  3. Further to my comments on August 30th re booking flight seats. The booking date is less than a week away but no flight details have been released yet. Does anyone know if the seat booking facility still allows seat booking 14 weeks before departure or must the actual flight details be published.? kev
  4. Can anyone please tell me how much it is to reserve seats together for. Caribbean flights? both economy and premium. thank you. I have been informed that it is as much as £40 per person each way kev
  5. HI all I am very interested in some of you having flight details because I have none. Which day are you flying out and where from and what flight details do any of you have please. I am going out Friday DEC 22nd from Manchester. Is anyone else on this flight and do they have any details? kev
  6. We once saw someone being helicoptered off the ship to hospital. We`ve also seen quayside ambulances waiting for ship to dock. Once we saw a coffin being removed from the ship. My wife and I ( both elderly) got to thinking about what if it happened to us. What happens to the traumatised spouse now with his/her suitcases at her side on the quayside? What if any help does P&O provIde? Hotel accommodation would be required in the vicinity of the hospital as well as transportation etc. Does the Port Agent help in any way. The more we think about the possible implications, it is quite frightening, especially if we were outside of Europe. There does not appear to be much - if any postings on this subject. Has anyone had this kind of experience that they wouldn`t mind sharing with us. I would be very grateful for any information. kind regards, kev
  7. I know this topic comes up fairly frequently but how do some people manage to book seat locations several days before me? Is the booking facility available earlier than P&O inform me that it is? Any advice please, Also, can anyone advise on Prem Econ seating pros and cons, thank you kev
  8. Looking for a nice beach with easy water access, no steep slopes etc. can anyone please advise? thank you.
  9. I know that these cabins are located on decks 8( promenade)and deck nine. I can see that those on deck 8 may suffer some intrusion from passing passengers but is this the case? would it be better to have one on deck 9? I would appreciate any views from those who have experienced either deck. thanks kevin
  10. Many thanks Presto2, especially the bit about cancelling trips before cancelling cruise. You have answered all my questions perfectly. kev
  11. I have never booked excursions prior to getting on the ship before . P&O are pestering me to book excursions now for a cruise next year in case they sell out. My questions are; if I book any do I pay in full at time of booking or just a deposit , and If I pay in full then either cancel the excursion or even the cruise, Do I get a refund of any shore excursion paid for? many thanks kev
  12. Last time I flew home from Barbados, the ships coach dropped us off and the queue to enter the airport was extremely long . Standing in a queue in the blazing sun for over an hour just to get to the entrance was horrendous. There was nowhere to sit and people were fainting. Can anyone tell me if things have changed in the last two years or what was their experience. thank you, kev
  13. Hello everyone, can anyone please advise? on Caribbean flights out of Manchester does buying premium seats entitle me to use the TUI lounge at the airport? I have been told that despite buying premium, because it is a charter flight for P&O I am not entitled. Free lounge access only applies to non charter flights. many thanks. kevin
  14. I think introducing a new tier would be a wonderful idea, based not upon the number of nights aboard but the amount one spends with P&O I know lots of people who cruise 2 or 3 times a year but spend very little on the cost of the cruise by having the cheapest inside cabins and spending nothing over the bars or on excursions. I also know many people who spend a great deal on suites. deluxe cabins. excursions, drinks, restaurants etc. I have a friend who buys 4 balcony cabins each cruise for the whole family but is only awarded 15 nights credit towards the peninsular club tiers. This cannot be right. The tier system is supposed to recognise and reward valued customers. But if one passenger spends 5 times more another one the same cruises, which one of them is the most valuable customer ?? I expect a great deal of debate to kick off now !!!!!!!
  15. Planning a suite for first time for special occasion Diamond anniversary. Do we get priority check in and if so, would our our daughter and husband who are are travelling companions and our carers check in with us although they not in a suite. thanks for any advice
  16. Are P&O currently using TUI Dreamliner on their Caribbean flights ? If not, who are they using and any comments about the flights please. thank you kevboy
  17. Hi all. On our next cruise we have a rather large amount of credit to spend on board. I know we can use it to pay for excursions but I would like to pre book these excursions before they sell out. Is it possible to do this using onboard spends? Previously, once onboard I found that some excursions were already sold out before the cruise began. Going on a wait list didn`t help either. Can anyone advise please ? kev
  18. Further to my post. I have now been informed that it is to with flight days. alternate cabins are reserved for alternate flight days. The only way to get adjacent cabins is for my children to fly on Friday and my wife and myself to fly on Saturday. If this is not absolutely Ludicrous then I dont know what is. Surely someone must be able to sanction adjacent cabins but who? does anyone know who I might contact at P&O to complain to ?
  19. I have just booked 2 balcony cabins on Arvia Caribbean christmas cruise 2023. I wanted 2 adjacent cabins. My TA advised that he could not find two adjacent cabins anywhere on the ship! He spoke to someone at P&O who confirmed that it was not possible to book adjacent cabins but he couldn`t say why. To make matters worse it seems that my cabin has an interactive door with the next cabin. It seems that every other cabin on each deck is unbookable. Can anyone throw any light on this please? thanks kev
