  1. We love E & O. The wonderful waiting staff seem not quite so pressured as in the MDR. They do this smoked chicken pre dinner appetiser along with tapenades that we always enjoy. I would say the portions are larger than the MDR, we rarely make it to dessert, although we have indulged in the baked camembert once. Delicious indulgence but filling!
  2. So glad to hear you are enjoying your time in Portsmouth and Dover. And wonderful that you can enjoy the cheerio party and actually be there soaking it all up!
  3. It's my favourite dining option for outside. If you add the SeabournSource app, you can see daily menus, that keeps me going until we embark in September!
  4. Oh dear, I feel for you. We booked this back in Feb 2021 18 months ago when it was 'Grand Pacific Voyage' to include Business Class flights, Gala Dinner, Luggage Forward, transport to and from airport etc (at a cost of course) Yes, we are in UK beforehand and fly from LHR on 29th Sept. Flights still show us on BA website, but not now showing on FlightEase and haven't been since the big changes.
  5. I spoke to our TA today. It's been a couple of weeks since my flights have shown on FlightEase, they disappeared on there, even though they still show on BA. I'm hoping the flights stay as shown as we are also, like Philip, Business class LHR to Vancouver. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles Philip. Apparently SB are working hard on the excursions and all this was promised this last Monday. Now tomorrow or next week. Which really doesn't give us long for our research (especially as we are away for 3 weeks before the cruise) I suppose these drastic changes means we're left a bit in limbo, hoping it will all be sorted very soon.
  6. Enjoy your release and your breakfast! We are on a long cruise end Sept and if, (I hope not) we end up quarantined I shall take a lesson from you on how to cope with cabin fever! I am UK and the sun is shining here, I do hope it is for you too. 🌞
  7. Fingers crossed for you that you test negative soon. I admire your fortitude, and thank you for your photos of all the food and the views.
  8. The email from SB on 13 July said this below.. and when you click you see the revised itinerary. That showed just below the map and on the email from John Leibowitz, President. I've tried to link twice, not sure it's worked or not. Third time lucky below! Please click here to review the revised itinerary in full. Each destination has been carefully hand-picked to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences and live up to the spirit and standard of a Grand Voyage. The best way to see it is to log into the SB website and it shows on itinerary and excursions. I think there has been one small change since the 13 July email. But SB really do need to get the excursions sorted for the latter part of the cruise. It is now renamed 'Grand Pacific Voyage' @BasandSyb I could not get over the difference in price for the March 2023 cruise, very disappointing as far as we're concerned, because I do feel we've been mucked about but are paying twice the price for the privilege. Yes, we could've changed but we were psyched up for this cruise, we've never been to NZ and won't again, and we couldn't face all the rebooking, refunds etc. This cruise better be good with what we're paying for it! @martrini We certainly will see you onboard, it'll be worth it once we're there. 👍🙂 SBNODY_GPVItin.zip
  9. We heard on 13 July with a revised itinerary and on the SB website and the SB app it shows our new booking number. However, the revised itinerary has had a couple of changes already! However, the changed stops show no excursions (except for one or two) so that is rather frustrating as we can't make plans on what we want to do. Time is marching on so I hope SB hurry up
  10. I'd be dancing the night away in the club until they shut the doors on me! 😂
  11. That's wonderful news! And bear in mind, you will now have 'a high level of antibodies' from having had it. (We do four weekly blood tests for the Office of National Statistics and we went from having antibodies from vaccination to high level antibodies after getting covid) Enjoy your trip! 🙂
  12. Poor you 😥😥 You have been remarkably stoical. Isn't it strange how covid varies so much from person to person. My daughter's partner got it last week. Tested positive on Tuesday, big red line, same again Wednesday. Thursday very faint line. Friday no line. He kept testing over the weekend... all negative. So, over and done with in a matter of a few days. Good luck for tomorrow!
  13. @BasandSyb I quite understand, what a big shame for you. Good luck with the credits, fingers x'd they all come through as they should. 🙂
  14. @martrini We feel exactly the same as you and we are also on the complete journey Vancouver to Sydney. Whilst being disappointed, we just worry that, if we cancel, we will not be able to do a longer cruise in the near future, this is our 'big' one. We had a long one due April 2020 and of course we all know what happened there! My husband plotted the replacement cruise on a map so we could work out what to do... the green line is the original cruise, the purple line is now where we are going. Whilst of course, it is different and disappointing to miss so many of the South Pacific Islands, we are looking at NZ as a bonus. And like you, we love shipboard life and will make the most of every minute of it. We hope to meet you onboard!
  15. So sorry to hear about your Covid. Hopefully you will be 'released' soon. Well done both of you for dressing for dinner, I'm afraid I might well be slobbing about if that were me! We spend a lot of time in Spain, a visit long ago to Cadiz, and the statue is the winged mermaid, she's rather glorious isn't she? No idea why she's there though!
  16. That's interesting to know, Fletcher, thank you. Having landed in Tristan da Cunha by tender with the biggest swell imaginable, and each passenger being literally carried onto the Tender from the ship, I shall look forward to Norfolk Island and hope the Captain is brave and allows it! @BasandSyb I quite understand what you are saying... we have never actually been to Australia/NZ, so for us... it's not what we wanted, but it is an opportunity. I have researched so much where we were going and now need to start again.
  17. You do realise that conjures up a picture... of me and my husband squashing the life out of a bag whilst both sat on the table in our suite, (best done after a big meal) or rolling round on the floor making them flat! I think I'd ask to borrow a vacuum, and clean a suite in payment 😂
  18. We've had the notification now. We are very disappointed to say the least. We booked this cruise specifically for the South Pacific Islands which now don't feature much at all. Also the weather in NZ is chilly and we love hot weather cruises. But what will be, will be, we are going ahead knowing that once on board we will love it all, as we always do. I can't figure out why the change in Booking numbers, seems a bit odd.
  19. We are on this cruise, but from Ontario, and haven't heard anything. I don't doubt this is happening and I'm ringing our UK TA this morning. On the SB website, there are no changes showing. What a pity, we really loved the itinerary.
  20. Right, I'm going on in there then! I have just seen we're 79 days and 17 hours away from our cruise. I think a daily checking of the menus is now in order!
  21. We don't embark until end September so I really must resist!
  22. If you download the SB App, you can check the menus daily. Our cruise isn't until Autumn but I look every so often. You can see all the daily menus in each restaurant on the App.
  23. Everyone has different opinions, don't they? I so much prefer the TK Grill to Restarant2. I found the former restaurant tasting menu (which it really was) a bit rich. I also like the TK menu and the fact there's always two 'specials' ... the thing is, I have my favourites in the current TK Grill and I'd be disappointed if they changed it greatly! I've also never heard or noticed the music at all ! We're all different aren't we?! 😁
  24. Coming from the UK, we are used to being outside when the weather is not warm and sunny, we've barbecued under umbrellas here! It's just a blanket across the knees, and a heater above us, whilst looking out over a blue sea and eating delicious food, SB can't help the weather!
  25. Earth & Ocean is a favourite of ours. We've sat outside in glorious weather most of the time, but also in cold weather with (supplied) blankets. We love the menus and the attention to detail. It's also easier to get to know the SB staff there, they just always seem so happy to see us! I remember one night when they had served us a meal and my husband felt not himself and needed to lie down (no, not the drink nor covid, just a very long day with an excursion!) and they could not have been more nice as we left our main meal and went back to our suite. It's a favourite of ours.
