  1. THANK YOU! Very reassuring to know there should be safe access for me. My days of climbing a ladder safely are long gone now!
  2. Looks to me, as if there is a handrail with steps going down into the Solarium pool? Would be handy for me, ladders are a challenge for me these days. Eagerly following your thread.
  3. They usually knock to alert you if you're in the room, in my experience with another cruise line.
  4. Here's a finger spanking for a bad girl who's sitting in the corner. I like your sense of humour.
  5. Good to know this. THANK YOU! I'm still in the planning stage for ny 1st Royal Caribbean Cruise, out of Sydney, Australia, ship undecided at this time.
  6. It's the "other cruisers" who object to you being aboard who are "the pain in the butt!" People who have never experienced being handicapped, IMHO, are often the most thoughtless and intolerant people.
  7. Thank you for this information. I don't drink alcohol-my preferred drink is not available-but I appreciate knowing about where to look for the number. I will be getting the Bottomless Bubbles package, much easier for me. Already carefully budgeting for On Board purchases, making sure money is put into On Board Credit. Any useful tips I find in the board, I note down for my own use. I've learned HEAPS of insider tricks and shortcuts, most of which I would never have thought of myself!
  8. 368 days until I embark on Carnival Splendor out of Sydney to Moreton Island and back to Sydney. Will not be going ashore-tender port and unsteady on my feet even with a Rollator for balance. 367 days until I fly to Sydney for a night in an apartment complex recommended by a friend as having GOOD Handicapped Accessible facilities, her husband is also handicapped. She passed the information on to me and I intend to inform the front desk people of her kind recommendation when I check in. Still need to purchase a rash vest for the thalassotherapy pool, not very good at applying sunscreen to my own back! OH! Check my summer shoes, and keep a sharp eye on a preferred shop for any suitable shoes marked down. The more money I can save, the more cruising1 😍
  9. UNLESS the passenger has PAID to occupy a SUITE then they should have the choice between the Suite or Concierge lounges.
  10. I will be flying into Sydney from interstate to stay at a serviced apartment before my cruise. There is a supermarket on the same block, so I plan to walk to it, purchase 2 6 packs-can't get a 12 pack of cans of Coke, and bring it on board for use in the cabin at night or when I feel up to walking to a bar for a cold drink.
  11. Love the blanket and beanie! I also crochet for charity. Planning a cruise on Royal Caribbean from Sydney, Australia. Still in the planning stages but your photos of CP have given me another option. THANK YOU! All Bella photos GREATLY enjoyed. She's GORGEOUS!
  12. I managed to find a 3 night cruise Melbourne, Eden then Sydney 03/25/2021 by looking on the website. HTH.
  13. Suggest they try it out before the cruise and see if it makes it easier for THEM to get around. Hopefully it will, and they'll CHOOSE to use it.
  14. Once you have your accommodation booked, I respectfully suggest a Google search for those names to locate your nearest store.
  15. You can-at least in Australia-buy 6 cans of soda for the price of 5 through the Cruise Personalizer. Sorry don't remember the AUD$ price, but remember thinking it would be easier for me when I next cruise, to have soda in the fridge for night time drinks.
  16. Very good point about not forgetting to pack your cruise cash . I have a special bag that anything cruise related goes into, and it travels in my carry on bag when I fly to the cruise. With the lower minimum purchase, it's easier for me to buy cruise cash each time I go to the travel agent to make a cruise payment, other people may have a different and just as practical routine. Counting down the days until I embark the Carnival Splendor, oh, price OTC anti-nausea medication, while it's more expensive than prescription, I won't have medication left over that I might not use in time. That's now on my To Do For Cruise list.
  17. I must fly interstate in Australia to reach my departure port. I always schedule to travel the day before, and stay overnight. I can collect anything needed from the supermarket-always get some nibbles to bring aboard, knowing I can book a taxi to take me to the cruise terminal, non driver here. It's very relaxing, sitting beside the taxi driver going to the port! And I recommend their company to other people!
  18. I appreciate that information-THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I am Legally Blind with a very poor judgement of distance so would prefer the familiar card. Having sailed on the Golden Princess in a Window Suite, I already have a very nice card wallet to hold my cruise card, and hopefully the fold up map of the ship, if that is still provided. I found this easier to use than try to read the map posted near the elevators.
  19. I'm already counting down the days. Keen as anything!
  20. Thank You! I'm not a bit breakfast eater, so could start the load and get a snack while waiting to change to the dryer.
  21. Thank you for that time frame. I will be on the Sapphire Princess ,March 25th 2021. On Aloha deck, have a reasonable walk to the laundromat. What times are the laundromats available please?
  22. Please how much is the tumbler? I'm sailing on Carnival Splendor out of Sydney in November, 2020, and researching possible-ok-LIKELY cruise purchases, so I can start saving money to be put into Cruise Cash for On Board Spending. I know this forum is mainly US posters, and can work out the Australian approximate pricing, with a price cushion. Eagerly scouring the board and noting any useful information, it's AMAZING how another person will frequently have the very information I was looking for! Not a cruise rookie, sailed with another cruise line, but Carnival has the itinerary I want-Sydney-Moreton Island-Sydney, even though I can't tender as Handicapped. I can enjoy the ship facilities instead! 😎
  23. Fair comment. Silly fools deserve what they got. If I think I will NEED an extra case coming home, I will take the larger case and pop the middle size inside. I usually plan all purchases fairly accurately, so don't always need extra space.
  24. I have a set of 3 different sized suitcases that pack into each other-smallest into middle size, then middle size into largest for storage. Very handy to take when travelling. I always advise Security I have a medium case inside my larger case, and no problems encountered so far, just an amused smile. HTH.
