  1. Hello!  I am going to be on Allure of the Seas on Jan. 29.  I booked a long massage for 2:30pm on embarkation day.  I also have the PADI course booked... I thought the first meeting was day 2, but I just got a schedule we have to meet day 1 at 4pm... which overlaps with my booked massage.

I don't really want to have to cancel the massage entirely, just change the time to earlier.. I checked and they still have times available... but I can't find a phone or email to get ahold of them and ask.  All I found was you can change it up to 24 hours before at the service desk, but since it's embarkation day that doesn't help.  Does anyone know the email or phone number I should call to ask?

    Thank you!

  2. I had my gallbladder out around Thanksgiving (nice timing huh?). I can't relate to going on a trip afterwards, but I can tell you how I felt afterwards. I was actually able to eat pretty much whatever I wanted, I ate within an hour of getting out of the hospital (I've heard of others not being able to eat properly for awhile though)... but walking was another matter. I was encouraged to go for walks by my doctor and I did, but I was super sore and walking for more than 30 minutes for the first week at a time was not happening. The pain wasn't that bad if you stay still and sit most of the day; I actually had painkillers left over, but the more I moved the more I hurt. I have 2 dogs and the doctor told me NOT to walk them for 2 weeks, so I had to have my mom come over and do it for me. I had to go to walmart for medicine on day 2 and I had to sit down every 10 minutes from exhaustion. I am lucky to have had help from my family. I'm not sure about car rides.. they didn't really bother me during that week... BUT I wasn't in the car for more than 10 minutes or more at a time.

Oh and editing after reading everyone's answers to add that my surgery went normal, no complications and I was kicked out right after the surgery after I came to... and like I said earlier I was so hungry I hobbled straight into Jimmy John's (it was the grand opening and I wasn't going to miss it!).... people were nice and let me sit down... like I said as long as I wasn't standing for more than 10-30 minutes the first few days I felt pretty much ok. I have unfortunally had bladder issues since having it taken out that I never had prior... but 5 years later I finally heard of Questran and it is a miracle drug <3. Just a tip if you have the same issues... don't wait 5 years to learn about it.

  3. Thanks guys. We cancelled the card completely do to an issue we had with the company. It is resolved now, but we no longer have any credit cards with them.

I am a bit confused about what someone said earlier... can you no longer transfer deposits to another cruise due to NRD (I booked this before they started that)? Like say I can go in 2020... can I no longer switch the deposit in 2018/2019 before final payment?

Just trying to figure out my best course of action right now, because if it's to hard to get a refund... it might just be easier to wait and see what happens and change dates later on when things get better.

(Glad I only paid the deposit right now!)

  4. Well I just made a test call to see what the first person I talked to would say... they told me it would be "illegal" to refund the money to another other card even if it is cancelled... and what would happen is they have to "attempt" to refund it then they will mail a check... I asked if there was a way around this like by paying more with a different card and was told "not that's illegal" if say you pay $200 on one card and $200 on another then both cards get refunded $200...

Is this accurate? I feel bad questioning the rep on the phone... but there have been so many mixed posts about different rep's saying different things.

  5. This happened to me and the answer was no. What I did instead was have them move the refund to the balance owed on another booked cruise. I was also told that they will refund to the last credit card used, so if you make a subsequent payment on your cruise and then have to cancel, the last card used will be the one they refund to. That's been my experience.

Thanks for your reply. Sadly we won't be cruising for awhile, so moving the balance won't help. I guess I could keep switching ships every year until we finally can afford to go again, but this is such a hassle!

Also, like I said, we have been going through a hard time, we can't afford to pay more on it... unless it can be a very very small amount. I will ask them about this when I call.

Thank you guys. I will keep watching for reply's and see what all my options are before calling.

  6. Hello. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this.

I booked a cruise (it is refundable) for 2019 on a credit card, but due to financial problems we are cutting back and I wanted to get our deposit back to help with our troubles (otherwise I'd just move it dates later on).

The problem is that the credit card I used to book the cruise is no longer valid. It was cancelled.

Can I still get my deposit back?

I know I need to call them (and I will), but not all rep's seem to give the same answer to any question anymore, so was wanting to see if anyone else had an experience with this before I tried to contact them?

I'd really hate to loose the money if it got refunded to a card that is no longer valid.

    Thank you!

  7. Thank you everyone for your replies! Just one other question.. can you do this with breakfast as well or only dinner? I wasn't sure if the main dining room had breakfast.. we always ordered with the door flyer when we went before.

And still wondering about can you do carry out with the specialty and how you do that? (Order early or just arrive?)

    Thank you! :)

  8. I did a search and can't find any direct information.

I am debating switching to a suite for one of our upcoming cruises (on Harmony). One of the main reasons is for the special room service with a full menu. One of the people traveling with us has some medical issues which means they would prefer to be near a restroom while eating and I thought putting us all in one big suite instead of two small rooms might work better. (Currently looking at the CLS with the two bathrooms)

Basically, I am trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade. I know all the new benefits, but there is one in particular I am trying to find more information on.

Can anyone give me any information on the full room service menu?

I basically want to know if it's worth it, is the food hot when it arrives and if there is any problem getting what was ordered? (I read some reviews of normal room service coming cold and not exactly what was ordered, but couldn't find any reviews of the suite room service) How long does it take once you make the order?

Also are there certain times this room service can be ordered and where is the menu found (since I know the main dining room changes daily)? Is it for breakfast, lunch and dinner or only dinner and what times?

Also, suite room service is free during the right hours like normal room service correct?

Any other information I forgot to ask that you might find helpful would be appreciated.

Also, specialty restaurants can't be delivered correct? Can they be "carried out"? Do you ask ahead of time before carrying out or just go there and order?

  9. Hi I haven't been on in awhile, so please excuse the ignorance!

I was trying to look on the website at the new(er) dates listed for Harmony, but no matter what date (to book now) I click on it goes to a page that has two banners saying Includes BOGO 50% and the other banner saying Includes BOGO 50% + Free Gratituities and one is highlighted.

The problem is under that is completely blank.. nothing. (Until a ways down it says: Pricing Terms & Conditions and lists them) I can't get to the next page to pick a cabin. I tried clicking up top, hitting enter, ect and nothing happens.

I tried both IE and Chrome and I can't get it to work.

I haven't messed with the new website much, since we haven't booked or been on a cruise since it changed... but I feel like something is missing....

Is the website messed up right now or is it my computer somehow? I have updated flash and all that.

I just wanted to check to see if it was the website and I should wait or if I needed to do something with my computer to make it work. Thank you.

  10. It was 3 years ago in 2012, but we did a Marti Gras/ Cruise from NOLA on Voyager (7 nights). We were trying to be "tight" on money because we were spending a week in NOLA after we got off. We didn't have any tours or anything booked, we decided just to stay on the boat.

We went to the Casino with just $20 a piece I believe it was, just to have a bit of fun. We weren't even there 30 minutes when I hit the jackpot (on slots, I can't remember which game.. I have pictures I'd have to go looking for it)! I can't remember now how much exactly I won, but it was few hundred... enough that we booked the Dolphin Experience and had the time of our lives.

I was in awe seeing all the coins. Not sure how they do it now, but they traded the coins for bills and we ended up with a bunch of cash, which we put in the bank when we got off the boat.

We may have been lucky but it was awesome :D.

Just looked over the pictures it was $185 and I had played just 11 quarters. It was a game called Triple Stars.

  11. I don't know if this has already been shared.. but I just seen this on Yahoo and wanted to link it for you guys interested.

    http://news.yahoo.com/1-1-2-pound-baby-born-cruise-ship-222950032.html

The 3 things I noticed in it are: "Her doctor approved the cruise to celebrate her daughter's third birthday, Morgan said." and "so she was shocked when the contractions began just past the halfway mark in her pregnancy." and "Dec. 19 due date"

There was so many arguments on how far along she was, so just linking that for those that care.... but personally, it doesn't matter to me.. and I just want to say congrats to the family and I am glad the baby is doing well and he'll have a neat story to tell one day!

  12. The people that hate these and rallied to get people to stop using them, just failed miserably on me :(.

See, until I read this post I had no clue what a selfie stick was... I googled it and fell in love.

Mine is coming on Friday.. EXCITED!!!

  13. The one and done folks must have a bigger budget for the hired help that does the laundry at their estates than moi! You know good help is just so hard to find with minimum wage, insurance and you just can't administer corporal punishment any more... sigh! Kidding aside;)... As much as I would not mind fresh towels (not to mention bed sheets) every day, I am not up to the task and I don't change my habits because there is someone else to do the chore. Honestly I don't understand on a practical point... you are taking of bit of clean water off of a washed body... what makes the towel so unclean?

    To each their own...

Me and my husband also only use a towel once. I do laundry once a day or once every other day. My husband doesn't get a work "uniform" and only has 3 outfits that are "appropriate" to wear and he is encouraged to wear them only once per wash due to him getting them dirty... so I have to do laundry so often whether we saved on towels or not.

We are not rich, we can't even afford a vacation right now... but we aren't poor. I do all the laundry myself and fold it.

On cruises and hotels my husband would actually try to reuse a towel.... perhaps I just get to washing it to fast at home... the towels can go in with his clothes without ruining anything.. so why not wash them often? Same amount of water (I always wash on full), energy, and just a tad more soap.

  14. I have a small camera I wear around my neck on a cord. We went to a state fair and somehow the clip unhooked from the cord and fell off as we were heading to the concession stand. We looked everywhere when we returned and couldn't find it... but someone sitting behind us noticed us looking and asked what for.. we told them and they told us who they seen pick it up, it was an employee. We tracked them down and asked and thankfully they gave it back! I'm paranoid now!

  15. It really has nothing to do with banks and everything to do with their internal processes. I set up financial systems for companies and have worked with accounting and bank card systems. A transaction can be canceled within the same business day. If a company makes a mistake they should be able to rectify it immediately. If I call and cancel I understand the wait that would be my fault for the canceling. This was their error.

Alright then. I was just saying what I have always been told.

    I'm on your side here!

    Good luck.

  16. i can tell you that although i dont know what your payment was. i do know for a fact that if you use a debit card they will charge 15 dollars for every hundred you pay. and thats for anything through them. it usually falls off and gets put back on your account in 3 days.

I used my debit card various times to purchase and pay for cruises... never had a $15 pending amount.

And as for the time it takes to get a refund back.. I had to cancel one of the two cruises we had in 2016 about a week ago. It took about 5 business days (7 total including the weekend) to come back to my bank. They can't cut the number down completely because some of the time has to do with your bank and how long the bank takes to process the money.. some take longer, some shorter.

  17. We've only been on a few cruises but we had problems with my account not showing the cruises I went on... called and found out it was because I had 2 C & A numbers. They were able to combine them.. maybe on one of her cruises she mixed up the number? They should be able to tell you what cruises it lists for her.. see what doesn't match up with her hubby's.

  18. We were talking on a thread about the missing rooms on deck 6 on Oasis, Allure and Harmony. Someone mentioned starting a new thread, but I don't see it.

I also don't see the original thread we were chatting on.

So either the original topic got deleted or we got deleted because of the mystery rooms being haunted rooms no one are supposed to know about!!!! (just kidding.. but seriously what ARE they?)

I didn't get a chance to read all the last posts before it vanished so decided to open a new thread.

What are your guesses for what's in room 6140 and 6540?
