  1. I know but is it the deposit of the person who is cancelling (the other 3 will still be going) or the entire deposit...that's what not specified. Logic would dictate that it would just be the deposit of the person not going, which is $199 not the $597. I am not complaining about losing the deposit, I'm just trying to clarify msc math skills.
  2. MSC YACHT CLUB 5 TO 14 NIGHTS: Cancel 61 days or longer prior to departure: Deposit Non−Refundable Cancel 60−46 days prior to departure: 50% of the total fare* Cancel 45−16 days prior to departure: 75% of the total fare* I have a cabin of 4, 3 adults and one youth. I booked my trip onboard and deposits were $199 per adult and nothing for the youth -- total $597. I might have to cancel one of the adults, so MSC cancellation policy is a little different than others, in that 61 days or longer, I would only lose the deposit (and wait forever for my refund for the adult that cannot go). What is weird is the inconsistency with the MSC agent, one told my TA that I would lose $199 (which makes sense) but the other said I would lost $597 (total of all three deposits). Any one been in the same boat (I mean ship)... and side question, how long did it take to get your refund. This situation would be easily solved if my DD (the one that might have to cancel) can just go but we won't find out until mid may (within the 61 days or longer).
  3. Maybe he thought it was 80's night?
  4. MSC refund policy is inconsistent but I did get my money back -- eventually (3 months).
  5. You can always eat twice.... I'd try something different that you can't get in the YC, like the asian or tacos.
  6. With a family of 4, I like that NCL Haven has a 2 bedroom option -- I wish YC had something similar. YC prices are better than Haven (but starting to catch up -- too many people liking it I guess -- supply/demand), so I pick YC. Food -- subjective -- my friends like the Haven food better than YC, even though the menu doesn't change. I like that I don't need to show them my ship card everytime I need to get a drink (haven't been in haven for a while, so not sure if that changed). Plus my kids drinks are also included. I love the lounge that overlooks the front of the ship and the pool deck bar/food area. Try it -- you might just like it -- we have, so that's my my last cruises have been on MSC YC.
  7. What version of iphone? And, are you sure you downloaded the right app? (probably you did but always good to check) And...app other than showing the cruise you will be on doesn't do much until you are set up with the ships wifi...
  8. I forgot those -- probably because I have not sailed on them. In those case, you get the other half of the spectrum, unruly, entitled adults...who can be equally annoying.
  9. Kids can happen on any cruise...(just cc search, you will find many complaints about kids running amok but that's another debate for another time) I'm assuming more on MSC because on some of their ships/itineraries kids are charge very low or just port charges.
  10. I have had it in our aft balcony -- so I don't book aft balconies any more. But mine might have been a one off... Was it like that the whole cruise? How long did it take for them to clean it up?
  11. On Dec 2024 we are in the 19022 and 19019 -- oh well -- I'll just drink more and drown out the noise for my wife with my snoring...
  12. There are fancy outhouses just outside the beach house... What did you expect him to do??? But I agree, would be nice some signage or a butler in front of the pack and another behind to help us through the crowds. I am planning to take my parents on their first YC in August, and they have some mobility issues, so I hope the butler doesn't dash and leave us in the wind...
  13. Thanks for you review... I was just on the Seascape and when I asked the butler about the override button on the elevators -- he said it wasn't working on this ship. I found the burgers to be not as great as the ones I had on the Seaside and Seashore. These reminded me of the ones I had on my med cruise, which I factored as being not in america. The ones on Seaside and Seashore looked plumper and homemade, Seascape's looked store bought. The one thing I noticed about MSC (because I ventured out of the YC), not many food choices if you were not in the YC, as there is on RCCL (the most) and NCL (chicken pot pie and wings at Ncl O'sheehan's). That's a great rate for your room -- were you on deck 18 or 19?
  14. If your deposit is refundable (i.e. not YC), then you could always booked before and then wait to get on board to see what the price is like. The only difference I see, is lower deposit and more OBC.
  15. I printed it out, filled it up but no one took it -- they just wanted the passports.
  16. Same room for us in Dec 2024 -- thanks for letting me know...some extra drinks should do the trick. My snoring should be louder than the banging...I think right above the rooms is the kitchen/prep area for the pool...
  17. On my Dec cruise out of Miami -- they wanted us out of the room by 8am. Off the ship? not sure about that but I would rather get off early than to go through the maze of people (even though the butler will escort you) and then trying to get an UBer with everyone else later in the morning.
  18. airlines do it... buyer's remorse...
  19. I would go -- try and bid for an upgrade and if you get into the YC, then better bonus.
  20. Anyone know when you disembark from the ship at Port Canaveral, how much those last minute shuttles cost pp?? Not the ones organized by msc, but the ones that ask if anyone needs a shuttle to MCO.
  21. I know you can Uber, take ship shuttles or private shuttles to Orlando airport but I remember when disembarking, there were people selling transfers to the airport. I'm assuming they were doing this to fill up seats, but anyone know how much it costs??
