Has anyone heard how the passengers currently onboard and due back on the 4th will be transferred from Norfolk to Baltimore?  Will they be on their own or will RC provide bus options?

We haven’t heard anything regarding that but I think we’re all just assuming we’ll be bussed. We were supposed to receive a letter tonight but as of now still haven’t gotten anything.

  2. Like others have mentioned it accounts for cancellations as well as others also moving up and making their rooms available. A few years ago we won a bid for the ultimate panoramic suite on Oasis even though in the 2 months between bidding and winning it never once showed up as available.

  3. We’ll be stopping here in March and it’s the one port that I can’t decide on what to do. My husband is going diving so it will be me, my kids (8&5), and my parents (in their 60’s). We’re open to different things whether it be a tour or a beach day just nothing too crazy since my parents can’t walk for long periods. Thanks in advance!

The ship itself looks awesome, but to those of us without kids it looks intimidating. I was on Anthem of the seas for thanksgiving week, the amount of kids running in front of us all around the ship was very annoying. Imagine this monstrosity of a ship called Icon of the seas where it has multi-levels dedicated to families. That's a lot of kids running around going nuts without parental supervision. Let's be honest, parents don't seem to want to be parents lately (or it seems so in public). We saw kids climbing on top of the art piece outside of Jamie's on Anthem of the seas. Not one crew member did anything or asked them to climb down and they shouldn't have. It's not their job to parent someone's kids. The parents sure didn't do anything, their attitude was like "they're just being kids" while they climbed on a piece of art worth thousands of dollars. The point is that as incredible as Icon looks, a lot of us will pass on this ship so we don't have to deal with the kids who don't have manners because the parents refuse to actually raise them. Anyone else feel the same way? I'm not trying to be inconsiderate, I have nephews and nieces also but their parents are actually parenting them and keep them well-behaved in public.

It would be awesome if the next Icon class was less family-focused and more of a general cruising style.

    Then don’t go 🤷‍♀️

We love Anthem, and not just because she is in the closest port to us. We have enjoyed the Solarium immensely, especially on sea days. We do not sail during busy times generally, so have not had issues with crowds really.

We also loved Odyssey, really like the Quantum class. Not a fan of Oasis class, but that's us.

My goal is to sail all the RCI ships at least once, so I will have to do those bigger ships at some point.

We had the same experience. We’ve sailed Anthem a few times and gave Oasis a shot last year and while it was very cool to see everything it had to offer we much prefer Anthem.

I made the joke that I needed a xanax after viewing the marketing material for Icon but truth is, I think for those of us with kids/teens, first thought was, "This is a great ship to take a family on," and I'll do just that. There are many other ships in the fleet I can opt for when it's just DH and I. For this particular ship, I think DS will have the time of his life 😊

This 100%. Would it be my personal first choice? Probably not but neither are things like Great Wolf Lodge. I do it for the kids and I’d still rather be there than cooking and cleaning at home 🤷‍♀️

  7. I think whether or not you take her has more to do with what kind of vacation you’re looking for. Like another poster mentioned they have a great nursery so you’ll still be able to enjoy some alone time on the ship however if you’re looking to do something adventurous as an excursion that complicates things. From my experience cruising with my kids that age was wonderful to travel with. They’d grown out of their sleepless nights but haven’t entered the chasing around phase. They were just happy to be there.
