This may sound bad, however we would prefer if MSC didn't don't do upgrades into YC, period. Also would like to see no children in the YC pool/hot tub period. An adult only experience.

Still, they seem to be our preferred niche at the moment.

I do think MSC YC crew works very hard at cleaning up and making certain things are tidy.

Can say that we have seen plenty of those overserved in YC, and some very sloppy eaters that make it look like toddlers were there!.

I notice this stuff-- from people who don't put a napkin in their lap, hold a fork like a shovel, talk with their mouth full, don't shower off before entering the pool or hot tub etc.

I'll have more thoughts re NCL and Haven in 2 months after our TA

Want to say I have seen signs of some type in Haven pics saying that kids under 16 or so could not be in the pool..though haven't been able to find that. With the whole ship being family friendly (MSC/NCL etc) and water parks and family pools etc...

we'd really like to be sailing apart from that.

On smoking-- it always surprises me to see smokers-- even more so when they have other comorbidities (obesity) and other health issues/needs like walkers, wheelchairs. On a recent sailing one couple where on the pool deck smoking many times a day--dragging a walker with them.

My brother started smoking young (jr high/high school) My sister in law, an RN, had him at an MD and on a patch to get off smoking when they started dating. So he stopped after more than 35+ years. It can be done. Glad to hear Regent is doing it right

I’m with you no upgrades to YC unless from YC interior to YC balcony. No children in YC pool or hot tub.

Just off Vision Mar 7 cruise.  The ship is in generally nice shape.  Carpets in the hallways can use replacement, but we didn't notice much more that is needed.  Its an older ship, so you cant change decor.  Furniture in lounges and theater were very good.  We had a suite which was beautiful.

    Good to hear.

  3. When I booked all balconies were guarantees. Booked anyway. Went on line & all specialty restaurants only had late dining. Went to reserve MTD same only late 8:30. I know that once on ship I could always see if anything is available for 6:00 or 6:30. But with that & not knowing where my cabin would be decided to cancel. First & last time booking a guarantee.

I have never used a travel agent for MSC - sailed YC about 6 times.  Any small issue has always been satisfactorily resolved. I have no doubt though that like any line there are one-off problems like someone posted earlier.

As to whether “all” the rooms are located within the YC, almost universally true. Some ships have a few suites that have been added as YC to justify a higher cost I presume.  These are easily identified during booking. The butler service for these is not quite as personal for obvious reasons. We love them (lots of real estate!) but we are experienced YC cruisers and don’t care any more about escorts to dinner, shows. However you can easily get those by popping down to the concierge desk or arranging ahead of time. (And you will want to do that for escorts off the ship!)

Compared to NCL haven? Let’s just say I will never book a haven room again. If we sail on NCL as we did for a recent Panama Canal cruise, we will book the penthouses that come with butler/concierge service and breakfast/lunch in moderno/Cagneys.

Agree with you after staying in YC balcony would absolutely never do Haven again. No comparison. We stay on deck 16 near the YC Lounge.

We have a booking for yacht club deck 16 in April 2024 and have a few questions.

Is it possible to get a wheelchair at the yacht club tent, Wife would need help getting through check in and embarcation

Is there an elevator in the yacht  club area to acess the dining room and the pool area

We usually download movies to our ipads. Is it possible to connect our ipads to the room tv to watch the movies. If yes which cables would be necessary

Would like to know also as my DH has mobility issues. Will be on the Meraviglia in October.

Let's see, walking toward the buffet in the back it would always be on the right side.  Port!  LOL

    Hi,

I was just on an 11 day sailing on this ship last month and yes, one entire side of the pool deck area is dedicated for smokers.  Only the covered section where there are tables set up have ash trays on them.

Not for nothing but I ended up kicking myself for taking the wrong side walk the across the pool deck the first few days before I learned.  There were a lot of smokers probably due to more Europeans on the sailing, just a guess.

That said, the smoke didn't carry very far on the pool deck at all I found.  If you're on the non-smoking side, I don't think you'd notice a thing.

    Port or starboard side?

I sent an email off to the executive office. Heard back from

    Geidy Xenes
    Executive Representative
    Celebrity Cruises

She basically could only say she was sorry but that they wanted folk to let them know if they were unhappy with this change so they could track responses.
    So let her know!

I just emailed executiveoffice@celebrity.com to let them know I’m disappointed with the removal of foot stools.

We were NOT able to order from the MDR on Eclipse.  I guess it depends on the manager of Blu.  On those nights we did not care for the Blu menu, we eat in the MDR, a Specialty restaurant or at the Oceanview.

Was that on Eclipse & recent?

Day 9 Ocean Cay.  We had 2 excursions shipwreck snorkel plus wave runners both of which unfortunately were canceled for wind. We took the golf cart over to YC and staked some chairs on the grass.  It's a little cloudy and windy but beautiful.  We have already seen 7 groups of interlopers tossed!  I was looking forward to this as a bucket list item.

We will be in the YC in October my DH has mobility issues (trouble walking a distance) is there a special golf cart to take us to YC area on Ocean Cay or can anyone take it.
