  1. We were on the Liberty last fall when it had the engine fire. We received a full refund, plus 1/2 off the price of our next cruise. We booked a seven day. Not sure how many days the terms stated. We also were to be reimbursed for our airfare and transportation such as taxi fares. We also received I believe $200 in onboard credit per person. We were shocked at how generous they were.

As it turned out we were doing a b2b and they flew us to Galveston via Miami from San juan. They put us up the night in a really nice hotel in Miami and upgraded us to a grand suite on the Magic.

We came back from our cruise feeling like we still needed a vacation, partly because I caught a cold during the second week, but we have zero complaints about how we were treated by Carnival, and can't wait to board the Glory next spring.

  2. I love these type of questions. I love going on a week long date with my hubby. Dressing up, going to shows, eating nice meals etc...... Cruising for me is a total escape from all the work and concerns of everyday life. We have been on enough cruises now that when we step on the ship it feels like going home. Oh by the way we are "going home again in about 5 1/2 months.

  3. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am so sorry for your loss. My DH and I have been on 10 cruises together with # 11 and 12 booked for spring. We have often discussed whether we would cruise by ourselves when the other was gone. I don't doubt it would not be the same but also feel it might be somewhat therapeutic. Of course we wouldn't really know unless we did it.

Thank you again for doing this and God bless you as you go through the grieving process.

  4. Glad everything worked out for you. Broke my arm once on a cruise. Came on here to ask advise. Got torn to shreds. I was very stressed and in a lot of pain. I may have not have worded things well, but many just assumed I was looking to sue. Why not ask for clarification before jumping to conclusions.

  5. Besides many of the above suggestions, what helps us to keep our cabin tidy is to have it picked up each time we leave our cabin. That way if you return with beach wear, shopping purchases or simply a few fliers you picked up along the way you are more apt to put them promptly away. If you return to a mess it is easier to just add whatever you have brought with you to the pile. I always enjoy keeping the room tidy. A lot easier than keeping a whole house clean.

  6. My only comment would be that although this is a tough situation I think you should set him down and carefully explain why you think this is important, then let him make up his own mind. Sadly our children must start making decisions for themselves and sometimes even mistakes for themselves. It is tough to see them grow and become comfortable away from us, but isn't that ultimately what we want for them? Whatever is decided I don't believe missing one cruise when you have obviously tried so hard to create a healthy family will destroy that.

  7. For us insurance is a must. I believe the only people who should consider travelling without insurance are those who have enough money to cover any possible emergency. That is not most people. We have been on ten cruises and have used our insurance twice. Once to cover over ten thousand dollars in medical expenses.

  8. One trick, take a few grocery bags or such with you. Since you have already arranged things into their own separate drawers, shelves etc. Simply slip each shelf or drawers worth of stuff in a bag and when you unpack in the next room it will be easy to put away quickly. Saved us a lot of time.

  9. Ok so we have done a few b2b's and have cruised on a tight budget and when we felt we could spend more freely. If you don't want to feel restricted you need to go with the right frame of mind. Make a budget, but go expecting to have an amazing time just being together. After all our greatest memories are not made by the money we spend, but the special moments we share, and they don't need to cost anything. Have an amazing cruise.
