  1. Have just posted the updated spreadsheet. Changes to VO sked are: * a new cruise for Saturn - India & Europe Grand Passage - in Dec '24 and Jan '25 * Vela will start sailing in Dec '24 starting with Iconic Western Mediterranean and Malta, Morocco & the Mediterranean (Dec '24) and then Iberian Explorer (Jan '25) The VE sked has been extended into Feb 2026. Cruises in Jan & Feb 2026 are shown in the OutYear tab. This tab is normally hidden. For those who already have a copy of this spreadsheet -- simply use the link provided on the ReadMe tab to get a fresh copy. For those who don't, use this link provided in my signature box https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8pm1betyh91wlhf/AABBcPIWuqWJQtR5JrNSFOqMa?dl=0 and download the file from there -- no DropBox account required.
  2. Heads-up! Will be posting an updated schedule tomorrow or Monday -- after I give it a thorough recheck. Minor additions to the Viking Ocean schedule. Biggest change since I checked last week is for Viking Expeditions. which is now scheduled through February 2026.
  3. Just a heads-up -- the Viking Expeditions schedule has been extended into February 2026.
  4. with respect to the confusion i reported earlier. have decided that it's a one time event.; i.e., think there is some one time reason why viking had to shift from new york to boston in august 2024 for Mars because everything after that goes back to "normal". Eastern Seaboard Discovery now replaces Eastern Seaboard Explorer on 31 Aug. No sailing on 17 August as before. New Grand Voyage added for Venus in 2024 and 2025: Australia, Asia, & the Mediterranean from Barcelona (Tarragona) to Sydney. Sky's sailing of Viking World Cruise starting Dec 2023 has had segments added: Grand South Pacific & Australia, Jewels of Australia & Asia, and Asia to Europe Grand Passage. New Longitudinal World Cruise V added for Octantis in 2025.
  5. ok -- folks- here you go. Have attached it in two formats -- csv so you can open it in whatever spreadsheet app you happen to use (excel, sheets, etc) and in pdf so you can view content lost when saved as csv. Have fun with it! I use a mobile app called ToDoCloud that allows me to create projects containing both tasks and checklists (a kind of a task). ToDo Planning for Booked Cruises (template).pdf ToDo Planning for Booked Cruises (template).csv
  6. Will try. Will send as a csv (text) file that you can open in a spreadsheet.
  7. VO Confusion. There's supposedly a "new" Eastern Seaboard Discovery on the Mars in 17 Aug 2024 that I've read complaints about in either CCF or probably the FB Fans Group. Makes no sense. If you click on it from the main "search by..." page you get nothing -- just the general viking cruises page. If you do a direct search for it you get a page with itinerary for a cruise from Boston to Montreal. If you click on its dates & pricing it's shown as a SOLD OUT from Reykjavik to Boston. Same with Eastern Seaboard Explorer on 31 Aug 24. Also SOLD OUT and inexplicably now from Boston to Montreal, not New York to Montreal. How is Mars moving from NY to Boston? Until this confusion is resolved I'm going to ignore this. Not going to update the spreadsheet.
  8. You're welcome! I had hoped this was a "silent" web site glitch. That nobody received cancelation emails about it. Followed by a flood of oops! emails a week or so later. That would have been a horror. 😜
  9. Have been working off and on updating the Consolidated Schedule throughout June -- tracking the changes. Some were temporary (web site update error??) so am glad I didn't post this 2 weeks ago. Would have caused an unnecessary panic for those who were booked on VE's Antarctica & S. Georgia Island. It mysteriously disappeared off the schedule posted on the web site on June 11th but then, sometime during the past week (I was away and not checking), returned yesterday Thus I think it must have been a web update error. A boo-boo.🤪 For VO. Viking's newest ship called the Vela is scheduled starting in 2025 doing existing itineraries -- nothing new. Added a sailing of Atlantic & Mediterranean Odyssey for the Star in March 2024 (filling in gaps??). More Med cruises have been added for Saturn in 2025. Added 2 sailings of Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords for the Neptune in 2025. Bottom line -- VO ship schedules are full into Aug 2025 except for Star, Orion, & Vela (Sept) and Mars & Saturn (Oct) and with the caveat that Vela doesn't begin sailing until Jan 2025 (Saturn's maiden cruise was last May). For VE, added Argentina & Chilean Fjords in 2025. Ignoring the mis-fire with Antarctica & S. Georgia Island, that's been the only change. Octantis & Polaris are each scheduled through Sept 2025. As always -- if you already have a copy of the spreadsheet, use the link on the ReadMe tab to download a fresh copy. If you don't, just use the link to the DropBox folder containing the spreadsheet provided in my signature box. By the way -- I got thinking last night that some of you more geeky types might be interested in the hidden mechanics of this spreadsheet. It would be a separate document I'd post to DropBox. Would have to wait until after we get back from our cruise starting end of next week and getting back in mid-August,. If you're curious -- folks like @BluebonnetTexan for ex -- I'll do it. Just say the word.
  10. My apology was meant for @photopro2. Was in a hurry to respond.
  11. Apologies for not realizing that your back of the envelope estimates were focused on the non-pax parts of the ship. Ooops!!🙄
  12. No need to do any estimations - the cabin sizes are provided on the VO site. I've also captured all that info in my ship class spreadsheet posted to Dropbox. Link to folder in my signature. Also here (and the source for my spreadsheet) https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/ships/viking-vela.html
  13. Wish I could too - but we start the British Isles Explorer in Bergen on July 9 and will be heading to Dover on the 19th. Regardless, I’ll keep an eye (or two) out for the next world cruise.
  14. Thanks for the info. As you know I’ve been intrigued by that gap for months. Noticed some small additions to the 2025 schedule this week for Saturn and VE ships. Am waiting to see if more additions are made to 2025 during the next week before I post the updated spreadsheet. Will definitely post before we leave for Bergen the first week of July!
  15. We booked that a few days after it first appeared on the VE site - 2 wks ago. I've set up a roll call for the July 15, 2025 sailing that you might find useful including a link to the planning materials I've prepared and posted to Dropbox to share. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2940205-viking-octantis-15-july-to-10-august-2025-canada-the-northwest-passage/
  16. I am aware of the new peopulsion system and that it necessitated a larger ship. Was not aware of this. Thanks for sharing!
  17. I don't think that's the case here. From what I've read - only 2 ships will be built using this design.
  18. Thanks! I've updated the spreadsheet with Vela's still developing schedule but haven't posted it to Dropbox yet. Waiting a week or so just in case her schedule grows, which it really must. And btw - despite my profile picture - there's only one author behind CharTrav - the woman holding the mug. 😎
  19. Meet one of my two furry helpers. He's actually on my lap right now.
  20. Updating the spreadsheet to include Vela didn't take that long. I spent a lot of time a while ago setting it up so new ships could be added easily. Guess my effort paid off. Anyway - I'm still going to wait a few weeks just in case they haven't finished adding more cruises for Vela. Took your advice and chose a nice cream color. A very very pale yellow.
  21. Have been thinking a cream color. Also that I'll hold off posting an update for a week or so to allow (a) for more additions from Viking and (b) me to update the spreadsheet to accommodate this new ship.
  22. So what color should I use? Any ideas? What base color? I sit there and twiddle with RGB settings to get a precise setting.
  23. Thanks alot. This explains much. Looking forward to email or call from Customer Relations. Hoping to find out the story behind the name choice. Will help with my color coding. As much as I can, I’ve tried to match the color code to the ship name (e.g., Mars is a shade of red, Saturn is a shade of gold, basically what I’d used for Sun before, etc.). But what color code should I use for Vela? 🤔
  24. Really?? Could you post a link to where you learned about this? Thanks!
  25. FYI -- there's a new ocean ship scheduled to be built in 2024 and operate in 2025. I'm trying to find out more about her from Customer Relations. At this point, it's shown on the main VO (.com for the US) site in the schedule part but not elsewhere; however, it is shown as part of the Viking Ocean fleet on the canada and .uk sites (haven't checked other sites). Am seemingly blocked from looking at it on the .uk site -- it grays over and goes dead shortly after it displays. But can see and interact with it on the canada site (https://www.vikingcruisescanada.com/oceans/ships/viking-vela.html). Which is how I found that it is a larger ship -- carries 998 vs 930 pax; length of 784 vs 745 ft, and beam of 101 vs 94 ft. I'll post the updated schedule after Customer Relations gets back to me. In addition to confirming what I'm seeing, I want to learn more about it including the rationale for increasing the ship size and the story behind the name. But did want you to be kept up to date.
