  1. We waited to book our LHR transfers onboard. The first 3 days guest services wouldn’t even talk with me about it. Said I could buy them later in the cruise and they would be coordinated with our luggage tags. Imagine my surprise when our luggage tags were placed in our room the very next night as an “independent” passenger with no transfer. Princess didn’t ever bother to confirm our departure plans before assigning us luggage tags. Got that straightened out and was told to pick my own time. Selected 8:50. Got off the ship to very long line for the Terminal 5 bus. It was basically first come first served, no reservations based on your flight time. They never even checked our tickets. When the first bus filled up, it then took a full hour for another one to arrive. By this time it was 10 am and I was really wishing we had just grabbed a taxi. Made it to LHR by about 11:50 am.
  2. Apparently we were not on the same Emerald. I am absolutely the mask policeman in my family and I can assure you I counted about 3 people wandering around or on tenders without masks. I said something to 2 of them. Now people who were seated in the dining room or bars and actively eating were not wearing them, but I even saw near 100 % compliance on the Lido deck in the buffet lines. The only are I cannot vouch for is the theater, but I avoided that area once the onboard cases started to significantly increase.
  3. Our traveling companions are on the port side. Not sure if they also have people on starboard although they seem to be using cabins on both sides of the hall, so inside as well as balcony??
  4. They are moving the infected to deck 12. We have traveling companions up there in a balcony room. They have limited room service options but say the food is timely and good. The Lido deck is still crazy busy and it’s very hard to social distance. Still, everyone is masking per the Captain’s orders. The dining rooms seem a bit more quiet the last couple of days. I think some are now eating in their rooms or getting room service.
  5. On the Emerald now. Mask compliance is about 100% everywhere you go. The buffet hasn’t been self serve for the last couple of days. Still tons of coughing, sneezing, etc. People seem to be making the best of it.
  6. Agree totally that testing at this time is pointless. Covid will continue to tear through cruise ships in its current iteration. This is why I will take land based trips until things improve.
  7. My shock was at how many people were clearly acutely ill and showing symptoms about 3 days into the cruise. Saw this coming a long time before the captain made his announcement yesterday.
  8. We are on Emerald now. Was very surprised at just how quickly Covid spread throughout the ship. Two of our extended travel group are in quarantine and yesterday our neighbors in the next cabin were picked up and moved. We will likely avoid cruising until things calm down.
  9. We are considering the same thing - even if Wifi wasn't good at sea, we could presumably test when we got back to port.
  10. Thank you! Unfortunately we do not have a sea day our last day and will be on shore all day. How early in the cruise were you able to select your testing time?
  11. Anyone out there that was on the sailing returning to Southampton yesterday that can comment on whether you were able to get your return to U.S. Covid tests performed by Princess on board, and whether you had any issues? I have been following the roll call threads for the first couple of UK sailings and seems like things didn't go all that smoothly for some. We are on the June 2 sailing and will be in Paris all day on excursion the last day before returning. Wondering if we need to bring our own proctored self tests to ensure we don't have any hiccups?
