  1. Ship: Mariner of the Seas Deck: 9 Stateroom: 9598 Category: Jr. Suite Starboard or Portside: Port Obstructed views: none Quiet? For the most part this cabin was quiet. It is directly across the hall from a crew service door (where the room stewards get ice, towels etc.) so we did hear the noise from that sometimes when they would do stuff in there with the door (crew door) left open. If the balcony door is open it's pretty easy to hear deck chairs being moved around from the surrounding balconies, but we figured that would be expected. Voices seemed to carry from our neighbors as well when the balcony door was open. I keep it open a lot on my cruises if it's not to hot, and I just felt that we had some overly noisy neighbors on this cruise. Lol! Connecting room: No Aft cabin, if so was there any problems? N/A Specific problems? The top left drawer on the vanity does not open easily at all and there were times I thought that it was just going to break. Sometimes it was a struggle to get it opened and/or closed. Other comments: If you like to hang out on the balcony and/or leave the balcony door open a lot, be fore warned that the smell from Izumi Hibachi finds it's was up to your level and into your room each and every day and IT WILL MAKE YOU HUNGRY! I personally loved the smell, but if you don't like the smell of garlic and hibachi/Chinese food, then this is an area of the ship you just might want to avoid.
  2. I wouldn't say the pools are heated. One time we went in November and the ocean was so cold. The pool was just as cold.
  3. Find a supervisor in a white shirt for breakfast and you can request GF pancakes. They are so delicious. On my last cruise, I was going through some allergy issues, and the Dr. suspected that gluten was one of my allergens. Due to my suspected allergies, I went gluten free for the entire cruise. I have to say that their GF pancakes were better then their regular ones.
  4. I get your point, but still not where I would prefer to refill my water bottle. To each their own.
  5. Same as I mentioned above. There were no signs posted anywhere for priority boarding (for suites/C&A etc) so with that being said, how could we have used that if there were no signs posted, this was our first time at this port and we didn't know where to go??? There should have been signs posted to make it easier for those with priority boarding (yes that includes suites) to know where to go so they could get in the proper line. Guests should not have had to wander around until they found someone to ask where they were supposed to go. Just a fail on their part. Ya live and ya learn.

For one, my water bottle is to tall to fit under the faucet, and two with all due respect, I'd much rather not fill my water bottle up from a bathroom sink that people have washed their hands in after taking a crap! Who knows how many hands may have touched the part where the water comes out while in the process of washing, or spit on it while brushing their teeth. Who knows how well it may or may not have been cleaned/sanitized prior to us boarding. Thanks, but no thanks!
  7. The scheduled boarding time is a joke! We are Diamond and always get a suite when we cruise. We last cruised in November out of Port Canaveral and it was total chaos! We got there late because our transfers from the airport took forever due to traffic (not their fault). Once we got to the port, there was a huge line (about 1,500 - 2,000 people in front of us) with basically zero organization. Thankfully it wasn't raining or to hot because we were all outside. There weren't any signs posted anywhere that we could see for priority boarding, so after waiting in line for about 30 minutes my husband finally went in search of it and found out where we were supposed to go. After finding where we were supposed to go we were in the building and checking in within 10 minutes. We were never asked about our scheduled boarding time. By the time we got on the ship our cabins were ready. We are normally on the ship by around 11:00 so that tells you how backed up and late things we're running. Our suite was port side so we were able to peek out at the line often if we wanted. We were supposed to set sail at 4:30. At that time there was still a significant line of people waiting to board. We also had two emergencies on board before we even left port. Both of these individuals were removed from the ship and taken to the hospital via ambulance. We didn't set sail until 6:30. As for your non suite friends boarding with you, I would say to just meet them on the ship. We had family (balcony cabin) once try to disembark with us because they wanted the priority service that we had, and Royal shut them down and wouldn't allow it. I've seen the same turned away at embarkation as well. It would suck to have them be sent to the end of the line after being turned away from the priority embarkation line.
  8. We are cruising in May on the FOS. I'm wondering where (and if) they have places to fill water bottles. We've cruised a lot, but this is the first time I'll be bringing my water bottle with me and was just curious to know if I will have a hard time finding a place to refill it?
  9. The hubby and I and our 17 year old daughter are looking to cruise over spring break. We have only ever cruised with Royal Caribbean. I'm just wondering how strict Celebrity is with the dress code in the dining rooms. I know that Royal has gotten so lax that pretty much anything goes these days. We typically like dressing up, but we are looking at a 10 day and would be flying to FL. We really don't want to have to pack a ton of semi-formal/formal wear if there really is no need for it. I have heard from some that they are really strict and from others that they aren't. Any advice would be great. Also we couldn't find any prices on the drink packages. Does anyone know what the cost is for those? We don't want to do the unlimited included package (drinks, wifi, etc). I can't drink alcohol due to medical reasons so the alcohol package would just be for my hubby and the regular soda package would be for my daughter and I.
  10. With that many people and that much luggage, it might be better to just book transfers from Royal and take that instead. That's what we did when we cruised in December. There was plenty of room on the bus.
  11. We usually eat in the WJ or Sorento's but just know that either one is going to be pretty busy.
  12. We typically get our muster out of the way first. Once that is done, we go to the MDR to see where our table is so we aren't walking around like fools trying to find it when we go to dinner that night. After that, we usually go find lunch somewhere (usually the WJ) and then grab a drink and walk around to check out the ship. Usually by that time the cabins are open and we go check out our room and drop off our carry on bags. Then we walk around and explore some more, and celebrate sail away from our balcony where we don't have to fight the crowds for a place to stand to watch the ship depart.
  13. We just got off the Indy last month and I saw several (not tons) of people that were masked up. It's all a personal preference (of maybe for medical reasons). I never gave a second glance at them or even judge. If one wants to mask that's fine. You have to do what you feel is best for you.
  14. We are cruising on FOS on 5-22 and this will be our first time going out of the port of Miami. I'm just curious how this port is? We went out of Port Canaveral on IOS in November and that was complete chaos. I just kind of want to know what we are going to be dealing with. Also aprox. how far is it from the airport? We have transfers as well so curious to know how long we will be on the bus. We are so excited and ready to go!
  15. It's not a complaint specifically on the F&F discount. It's a complaint about the math in general not adding up right. The 30% off every cruise isn't correct, and the amount for the flash sale isn't either. There obviously was a glitch or something last night because the something happened when we checked another sailing as well. This does not effect my daughter at all.
  16. We just tried to make a booking online (6 nt cruise in a Junior Suite for 3 adults and 1 child) as we have done with all our cruises. We are diamond members so cruising is not new to us. Our daughter works for Celebrity so we have a friends and family discount (20% off) to add to it. It was also giving us the flash sale instant savings and 30% off special. Here is the math and it most definitely does not add up. Cruise Fare $12,832.00 Employee F&F discount $- 2,422.00 Flash Sale Instant Savings $-850.00 30% off ever cruise $-7,206.00 Subtotal $2,354.00 Taxes & Fees $525.88 The total price that it then shows at the bottom of the screen is $5,167.88 We spent a total of 2 hours on the phone with Royal and escalated up to the resolution department and yet we are still being told that yes, there is a glitch in their system, and NO they will not honor it. I know I have read on here where people have had great deals on drink packages and even cruise fares because of glitches in the system so obviously they do honor it and maybe it just depends on who you talk to??? Someone please tell me how we go about getting them to honor it. Celebrity would honor it (verified this with my daughter who works for them). Does anyone know of anyone in particular they suggest that we speak with on this? The guy in resolution that we spoke with put it on a 4 day courtesy hold for us and said we should expect a call back from some one higher up then him in the next 48 hours. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  17. So, I know that things have changed since the pandemic, but how much has the formal nights changed? We love dressing up on formal night. There is just something about that night that makes our cruise feel that much more special I guess. How many of you actually still dress up for formal night? Drop me a pic and show me what you wear.

  19. Quick question, We cruise on the Indy in 10 days. Our last cruise was four years ago and they didn't have (or if they did, they didn't require) the app. As I was looking around on it again today I noticed a part where it says that "you can chat with linked guests while viewing your current reservation and connected to ship wi-fi". Do you have to pay for the internet package for this part of the app to work, or is the wi-fi free to use for the app, but required for other things that require it (regular internet surfing, social media, etc)?
  20. When I called to make some updates to my booking I was asked then, if I would like to select my drink choices. But if they don't ask, make sure you mention it to them.
  21. What are the fees to get into Margaritaville? Can you go there just to eat if you want and if so, is there an extra fee for that or just pay for the meal? I've never been to one that is a resort before, so not sure how it works there. Might be interested in going while we are in Nassau.
  22. We will be boarding the Indy on 11-28 for the 4 night Bahama and Perfect Day cruise. We have never been to the Bahamas before. We already have the perfect day at Coco Cay already figured out. What is there to do in the Bahamas. I'm looking at things to do that are both free and cost money to do. TIA!
