They lied then, because they specifically said there was an additional charge on English produced wines - as you say, standard alcohol duty is the same for English or foreign wine.

The main reason English sparkling wine is more expensive is tax. We went to a tasting at our local vineyard a few years ago and found out that wine produced in England is taxed MORE than imported wine (which makes no sense to me). They did tell us the amounts and it was very high (although I can’t remember the actual numbers now), once you add that to higher production costs as well there is no way they can compete.

We stayed here a number of years back. Location was close to public transport and had a small but functional rooftop pool. It's a decent choice.

We’ve booked 12 nights on X from Singapore to Hong Kong via Thailand and Cambodia. In previous years RC have offered a similar itinerary but not now 😞

If the upgrade was booked and paid for separately and not included in your package then you will be able to cancel and rebook it without a penalty. The person talking about losing the deposit is confused and is talking about the cruise, not the drinks package

This is about drinks packages not cruises. You can cancel the package and it doesn’t impact your cruise, they’re two separate things. theres no deposit on drinks packages

How is there a penalty? Whenever we have done this we get a straight refund and then repurchase 🤔

Same with the Asia cruises. We’ve had to book in X (and a really old ship) instead of ovation because we wanted longer than 4 nights 🙄

Although disappointingly, only 3 and 4 night cruises......

I think you need to check the definition of DISASTER in the dictionary…… we don’t do the windjammer, but had no issues on either of our oasis class sailings, both of which were at capacity

We’ve also never had a problem getting a 2 top on RC 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was there in 2022 when I took my first post Covid cruise and was still there last year. The new mid seating would seat us better than either early or late though, so might consider that if it’s available for our next cruise.

You can still make MTD reservations through the cruise planner (or at least you could when I last cruised in December). We booked all of our MDR nights in advance.

We had MTD dining on wonder in December and it was great. We book for around 7/7.30 and there was either little lines or when there was lines, it moved quickly.

Not quite an FCC for the full value of your cruise though, which is what they claimed they got!

Someone was moaning about this on FB and were 100% blaming Royal for it. They claimed they knew someone “high up” at RC and got a FCC for the amount of their cruise because of it, but most people called that as BS 🤷🏼‍♀️

They’re saying they can cruise in a different RC ship for less. So why shouldn’t they do that if they wish? Not everyone is desperate to sail the newest and biggest at any cost - doesn’t make them less “fun”.

We’re also U.K. based and hoping to get at least 5 nights from Singers in Jan 2026 - my OH’s 50th birthday and our 25th anniversary 🤞we were booked on it for new Year 2020/2021, but obviously it was cancelled 😞
