  1. "TimePlay's platform connects audiences' phones to a main screen to compete in real time, turning watchers into players. Its history launched in cinema and cruise, monetizing entertainment via hosted games and innovative pre-shows, resulting in high returns and high entertainment scores. " Note the term "monetizing" .
  2. I think it may be available on the Navigator app.
  3. I think in the example that I gave the insured was being "disqualified" for not being truthful in her application. I have supplementary health and travel insurance that does not require me to complete a health questionnaire. Even so, as my doctor has told me, the insurance companies can request an insured's health records and apparently the consent is implied somewhere in the policy.
  4. I remember reading an article a few years ago about a young woman who injured her foot on some coral while snorkeling in the Caribbean. Although she had purchased travel insurance, her claim was denied because she had not declared her asthma, which was deemed to be a "pre-existing condition", even though it had nothing to do with her injury. Insurance companies are experts when it comes to exploiting loopholes.
  5. Just curious why the NS was diverted? Was it weather-related?
  6. It's one thing to express a personal opinion, but quite another to make a gratuitous statement about something as serious as food poisoning without any evidence to back it up.
  7. I have had some luck in going to my account, and clicking on "make a payment" (even though there is no balance owing). That usually takes me to a page that displays the booking information.
  8. I may be mistaken, but I believe that some travel insurance policies can be limited, or restricted if a travel advisory has been issued for a given area.
  9. We are hoping that the weather will not be too windy - we plan to stay on the ship and play pickleball 🙂
  10. It was the Chiquita Voyager container ship on its way to Guatamala. It just struck me as funny that Chiquita had its own ship and brought to mind the old commercials for the brand featuring a singing banana.
  11. You're right, in the interest of brevity I only posted the part that was relevant to my comment. And by specifying the lack of chocolates on your pillow as the source of the grievance you helped to drive the message home. There are so many wonderful experiences to be had on a cruise ship; it's a shame that a few minor irritants, added together, can spoil the entire holiday.
  12. I always find it interesting to learn what is important to some folks. Of any of the services offered on board, the evening turn down would be last on my list in terms of essential to a satisfactory experience. And it would certainly have no bearing on my future cruise plans.
  13. That's what I am hoping. I like to prep my tags ahead of time and laminate them for strength. I cringe when I see the stevedores scribble a number on a tag before the bag disappears onto a cart.
  14. Just wondering if we are allowed to carry (wheel) our luggage on board rather than leave it with the baggage handlers? We are still waiting for our cabin assignment and (call me paranoid) we would not feel comfortable handing over our bags if the cabin number is not displayed.
  15. My partner and I both travel with our cell phones. However, due to very high data rates when out of the country, we ensure that the phones are in airplane mode as soon as we cross the border; most of the time they remain in the cabin's safe and we use our iPads as they are not data enabled and operate on wifi only.
  16. We received our first upsell offer about 5 weeks before our February departure, and another one at the 18 day mark. The uptake must be lower than expected, or the price still too high.
  17. Understood. But if there is no uptake on the Vista upsells, then the folks who have reserved a guarantee in a verandah category may be next in line - or they may not - depending on the total number in the pool. Just having a little fun speculating; we'll have to wait until the dust settles to see what we get.
  18. That's interesting. We have reserved an unobstructed verandah guarantee for an upcoming cruise and have already received two upsell offers for Vista Suites. Your news may or may not bode well for us, depending on the number of people who have opted for a standby spot.
  19. That may be the case. However, the Navigator app is apparently also used to download boarding passes, which would be done on land, before boarding. I have deleted the old app and downloaded the new one, so I guess that is not an issue. I always print hard copies of all my info so will continue to do so. It's unfortunate, though, that something that was supposed to make things easier only serves to confuse...(at least in my case).
  20. Yes, old app deleted and new version just installed.
  21. I apologize if this has been covered before. The Navigator app (latest version just downloaded) does not recognize the mariner number, email address or password that I use to access my online account. Is there a separate registration for Navigator, with a different password? I am afraid of making any changes as I don't want to lose my online access. Second question. My spouse would like to download and access our joint booking on his own Navigator account. Once I am able to access the app (at this point I am not holding my breath) will he use my log-in credentials or does he register his own? In other words, can two people on the same booking have separate Navigator accounts? Any help would be appreciated.
