  1. Thanks for the sleuthing, crystalspin. I assume that the Program is a form of insurance that would have been purchased at the time of booking? If that is the case, I don't think we are covered.
  2. I am about to pre-book the premium internet package in advance of a cruise beginning later this month. However, in the (hopefully unlikely) event of a positive Covid test forcing cancellation of our plans, would any pre-cruise purchases be refundable?
  3. So do we. And we don't need to wait until the end of the cruise - cash can be deposited on our onboard account at any time.
  4. You might want to try Winners; I saw a set of packing cubes in a local store today.
  5. I recently bought an air tag at the Apple Store. The first question I was asked by the "associate" is "are you travelling"? I suspect there has been a recent increase in sales of that particular Apple product.
  6. I've been toying with the idea of an upgrade to a verandah cabin for an upcoming Alaska cruise on the Zuiderdam. Although the HAL website shows that all cabins in that category are now sold out, a current promotion on Expedia.ca is offering guaranteed balcony staterooms for that cruise (among others). I assume that they have bought up or reserved a number of cabins, and am wondering if anyone might know at what point before departure they would be released if unsold ?
  7. Is that a recent price? The listing on the .ca site is substantially more expensive.
  8. Just wondering how casino offers are identified? I see all kinds of "deals" when I log on, but none of them are casino offers. Is there a shortcut or some easier way to find them?
  9. Friends of ours crossed the border by car last week. Although they had done so earlier this year and had used ArriveCan, they forgot that it was still required. My friend was given the opportunity to stop and enter the info before proceeding into Canada.
  10. I would; and a few balls as well. They don't take up much room in a suitcase, and would be much better than the ones that are provided on the ship.
  11. I'm confused. If you don't get the emails, then how are you eligible? I've only booked one casino offer and that was after receiving the offer by mail addressed to me personally with the name of a cruise consultant. Can anyone who manages to find the list go ahead and book?
  12. Many years ago, well before our first cruise, I asked a travel agent if a flight combined with a cruise reservation would provide some sort of protection against delays in reaching the ship on time. She made it clear that the two modes of transportation were separate, and that it was up to the customer to ensure a timely arrival at the dock. For that reason we have always booked our own flights to and from the cruise. In my (possibly biased) opinion, any savings realized if using a third party would be negated by the lack of control ( no direct contact with the airline). And while trip interruption insurance is great for minimizing financial losses, it will not help to hold the ship...
  13. Your signal was likely picked up by a US cell tower - this happens quite frequently along the border. If you get a "welcome to AT&T (or some other US provider) message" then cancel the call immediately. We sailed from Montreal to Boston a few years back and were delighted to be able to use access our data for a good part of the trip.
  14. True, but it appears that the OP would like to tip the folks who help him and his spouse at the airport, before heading into town.
  15. This may sound like a stupid question, but where exactly in my account would I find the boarding time? I just received a notification but don't want to begin the check-in process until closer to the cruise in mid-September.
  16. We were charged a corkage fee on Norwegian a few years back.
  17. I've just learned a new term to describe those little packets 🙂 We usually pack a few when we travel - they don't take up much room in a suitcase or carry-on...
  18. Even on this type of promo? How about the taxes?
  19. Hello again - I am familiar with the immediate payment requirement. However, your mentioned that port charges and taxes would be refunded upon cancellation. The second paragraph from the fine print says otherwise: "This promotion is 100% non-refundable from the point of payment and you are not entitled to any refund, payment, compensation or credit."
  20. Good to know. Any idea where I would find that on the website?
  21. Just a friendly correction...the term to use is Inuit (no middle "t").
  22. Good to know - it was the little laughing "Ha-Ha" response by TiogaCruiser that had me second-guessing my answer to your question. (A word of caution - parking fees might apply if another event is ongoing.)
  23. Doh - I'm beginning to wonder if we are in need of a sarcasm icon...
  24. It's an ongoing event at the EY Centre. They close down for a few days to re-stock then re-open with a sliding scale of prices for electronics and a fixed price for other items. I believe it has re-opened today and should last until early next week.
