  1. Well, the market has improved a bit in the last couple of months so all our stocks are doing well. Outside of the funds we're invested in, we have individual stocks in several companies-Alphabet (Google), Amazon,Pfizer, John Deere, GE, GE Healthcare, RCL, and a few others. We are in the current position (I'm retired and DH is retiring this Dec) that we are pulling profits and moving them into more stable cash and CD's. Anyway, point is, RCL was never a stock we would have normally bought. It can and has been pretty volatile. I can't think of another stock that we own that took such a big hit, although we knew it would recover.
  2. Except if you watch the video, it appears he didn't prop her or sit her. He literally lifted her up and over the railing and out the window. She didn't fall off any edge, she was dropped.
  3. We bought our shares solely for the OBC. We only follow what it's doing out of curiosity. We're meeting with our CFP in about 30 min and he sees the stock the same way we do. We have other stocks in our IRA's that have been much more profitable.
  4. This is nuts. Exactly what liability can they possibly assign to Royal? We all know who is at fault and it's not Royal. The family ought to be suing the step-grandfather if anyone at all.
  5. New? How about 2+ years old and talked about a lot on here.
  6. They are only doing once per day unless you are in a JS or higher. This is new policy that was announced a couple of months ago, not the steward's decision. So, for you, with holding any extra tip is a punishment? It doesn't hurt the company if you with hold extra tips. Have you read the entire thread?
  7. Rreread what you posted. It does not read as a new passport. We can only respond to what we read.
  8. Well, you don't send a bc with a renewal, just the old/expiring passport. So, that might be their problem.
  9. We're talking about changing out towels and emptying trash here, not something life or death. No one "has" to understand how someone else feels about it lol. Does it really affect your life if someone on the internet understands how you feel about room cleaning?
  10. A few of us have mentioned personal responsibility lol.
  11. Site was really slow actually trying to get to cruise planner for me yesterday for about 10 minutes, then it came back up. Just one of those regular glitches.
  12. It is amazing. We peak in when we walk by and some cabins have stuff everywhere. We've seen open suitcases on the sofa being lived out of, clothes and other items all over the floor and counters. We're neat. Everything has a home. The only things on the counter tends to be power cords. Even our laptops go back in their bags when we aren't actually using them. All clothes are hung up or in drawers, shoes in the closet and suitcases are under the bed or next to the wall behind a chair (JS). I toss papers every day unless it's something we really need like an invite to an event.
  13. I don't know of any airline that pays commissions anymore. Most hotels don't either. Our TA's are our friends and they also would do other travel free of charge if we needed it. We book our own travel (usually amtrak) and hotels. TA's usually charge a flat fee if there is no commission. And, believe me, they don't make a ton of money. Our friends wanted me to come work for them as I'm very organized and pay attention to details, but I would have had to take a 60% paycut to do so.
  14. You are paying their commission because when you use a TA, that's one less cruise a Royal employee has to do. If no one used TA's Royal would have to employ more people to handle the load, so, when you book a cruise, you are paying either a Royal consultant or a TA in your fare.
  15. They only change them every few days. Pretty sure on a 7 night, it's once during the cruise.
  16. Oh, the drama. How many towels do you wash at home per week? You'd think I told people to use other's towels. I simply stated that someone could reuse their towel ONE time.
  17. Up until a few years ago, there were always extra towels in the bathrooms. We hang them on the back of the door on hooks. We stay in JS, so it's not required but we do it. We also (gasp) reuse hand towels. The idea it's "disgusting" is entirely in people's heads.
  18. People are overthinking this. LOL. Who knew it was so easy to rile people up over something so trivial? Before someone else says it, I know, it's CC haha. I can solve this major problem for those of you that are easily grossed out by yourself, ask for extra towels, problem solved.
  19. LOL People who won't reuse a towel they used once after taking a shower. What makes it "disgusting"? Your towel, used on you one time isn't dirty considering you just took a shower. I'm far from green, but I'm not too superior to reuse a towel once. Just google how often you should wash your towels. I think you'll be surprised. https://health.clevelandclinic.org/how-often-should-you-wash-your-germ-magnet-of-a-bath-towel/#:~:text=As a general rule%2C launder,re sick to avoid reinfection. https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/02/health/washing-towels-how-often-wellness/index.html
