  1. In an upper suite cabin (Royal & above), you will be contacted a week or two before the cruise by on-shore staff that will work with you on reservations, preferences, etc. We are about to embark on Edge for 18-night cruise in an Edge Villa leaving Sydney for Honolulu and were contacted approximately 3 weeks prior. Our specialty dining reservation dates & times were included as part of that correspondence, as well as to our preference for the two bottles of alcohol, cabin stock beverages, etc.
  2. We will be embarking out of Sydney on a transpacific cruise aboard the Edge on April 14. We are in an Edge Villa suite that includes “priority check-in, departure,…” and are familiar with this Retreat boarding process on Celebrity cruises from Florida. My specific interest is learning if such a dedicated check-in area for suite guests exists for Celebrity cruises departing from Sydney?
  3. Sydney, Australia; anyone have boarding experience there?
  4. Surprised Celebrity doesn’t adjust this Elite benefit by the length of the cruise. We have an 18-night cruise upcoming in April on Edge and as we are both Elite, our loyalty has earned us one free bag of laundry each. Would be wonderful if this Elite perk was amended to “one free bag of laundry for cruises up to 10 days duration and two bags for cruises 11 days or longer”. This modification would make packing a little easier for longer sailings, especially transatlantic & transpacific itineraries.
  5. Update 2/13/24. Today we received the much anticipated MoveUp acceptance email and our CC was charged. Our 18-night cruise embarks on 4/14/24 from Sydney and are delighted to share that our bid for one of the three unsold Edge Villas was successful, with notification arriving a full two months prior to sailing. Our bid was almost twice the minimum amount for a Villa, however knowing we have a total of 12 sea days to enjoy the Retreat and that unlimited Specialty Dining is included with all upper suites, helped to rationalize our offer. We also looked at our bids as being the equivalent of making combined bids on two and a half 7-night cruises.
  6. Celebrity’s MoveUp Q&A shows the following: Can I modify or cancel my offer after I submit it? You may modify or cancel your offer up until 2 days prior to departure, provided that your offer has not already been accepted by Celebrity Cruises and provided your credit card has not been charged. If the above is still accurate, why do all, but one of my MoveUp bids show “Expired” and the one that is still “Pending” can not be modified or cancelled? The cruise’s departure is not until mid-April over two months away. This bid has neither been accepted nor has my credit card been charged. The fact that my one pending bid can’t be modified or that my other bids can’t also be modified seems to violate Celebrity’s above statement. Am I misinterpreting the rules of this program? I
  7. We recently spent 12 days in French Polynesia last August (5 days at the Hilton on Moorea and a 7 day cruise on Windstar’s Wind Spirit). We packed several cans of bug spray after reading several warnings about the mosquitoes on here and other sites. Bug spray never left our luggage and we never noticed any mosquitoes! Perhaps time of year you visit might make a significant difference in the mosquito population, so take precaution if concerned, yet wanted to share our experience.

  9. I suspect the intent is to have the final payment applied to the credit card’s new monthly billing cycle (period) and thus have an additional month before Celebrity final payment charges are due & have to be paid.
  10. ‘Captain Merrill Stubbing of THE Love Boat is holding on Line 2 to speak with you, Elvis! And Walt Disney is holding on Line 3 to speak to you about Disney’s old The Big Red Boat. Should you wish to speak with me directly I will be staying in The Bronx!
  11. The last tender to the Vaitape Pier is 4:30 pm. There are also three catamaran trips over to the private motu for the Destination Discovery Event (dinner and show) running at 4:45, 5:00 and 5:15 pm and those trips are assigned by cabin numbers. These are the only three times available for the transfer to the motu. The show stars fire dancing experts. The timing of this dinner event allows for morning or early afternoon shore excursions. There are also zodiac trips to & from the motu between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Wind Spirit sails from Bora Bora at 9:00pm.
  12. On Wind Spirit now and today is our first day visiting Bora Bora. The tender sign I saw this morning said last tender tonight is 8:30pm. Tomorrow, our second day in Bora Bora is the scheduled “The Destination Discovery Event” that is the BBQ on the motu.
  13. I too have been searching for the itinerary & ports as leaving from Southampton was a significant attraction to us for booking this transatlantic cruise. It has been mentioned that Apex might be embarking from Lisbon, which if true will now eliminate Lisbon as a port from the original 13-night itinerary. We are also wondering how Celebrity will (or will not) adjust our original cruise fare considering the length of their cruise has been reduced by 7.7% (12 nights versus 13). Their not so generous offer of $200 OBC for our mutual inconvenience for accepting a less attractive and lesser valued product as well adjusting our plans/schedules does not quite pass muster. Is demand simply that strong that Celebrity doesn’t worry of the ill will fostered by these schedule changes?
  14. The October 23, 2024 Apex cruise appeared on Celebrity’s website this morning, then as I attempted to confirm it was still there this evening, this cruise magically disappeared again. Borrowing from an old airline slogan, “Is this anyway to run a cruise line? I give up trying to speculate or make sense what might be happening in the inner sanctums of Celebrity.
  15. The October 23 Apex cruise is appearing again on the Celebrity website.
  16. I love Celebrity’s French onion soup so much that I proudly (though unintentionally} wear some of it on my shirt the rest of the evening! Darn those dastardly drips!
  17. We were onboard Beyond for the 3/19/23 sailing when it was announced that the entertainment staff was named the #1 Cruise Ship for Entertainment (2023) by USA Today. And in our opinion, very well deserved. Here is a link to USA Today’s top ten ships: https://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-cruise-ship-for-entertainment/ Best Cruise Ship for Entertainment (2023) 10 best cruise ships for entertainment,
  18. There are Aqua Sky Suites which I suspect was the level referred to.
  19. We have a 7-day Windstar Tahiti cruise booked for April 2023 and post cruise will be staying 5 days in Moorea. We then are flying to Sydney for our April 22, 2023 transpacific aboard Celebrity Eclipse. We have an extremely early (3:10am) flight on Air New Zealand on 4/19 with a 2 hr 10 min layover in Auckland before arriving in Sydney at 10:40am on 4/20 due to crossing the International Dateline. Total duration of Papeete to Sydney trip is 11 hrs & 30 minutes; long, but doable. Though flight was not inexpensive! Hope this provides the inspiration that it can be less painful than what your original search showed.
  20. We will be boarding the QE in three days at Los Angeles and our boarding passes shows “NULL” under Arrival Time. Assume this means we have no specific boarding time while the ship is in port, however can anyone confirm this? Our cabin has been assigned and we have completed all requirements with line check-in. Thank you in advance for your help!
  21. Filling water bottles with water has been addressed, however what about filling a Yeti cup with hot coffee or tea? Pouring hot coffee into an insulated Yeti cup from a clean cup can sometimes be a little messy and potentially dangerous. Using a clean disposable cup might make pouring easier, however those become very hot on the fingers. We love our coffee and tea very hot that only a well insulated cup can assure. Any suggestions/recommendations?
  22. Boarding in L.A. on 7/26 and this will be our first Cunard cruise as well!
  23. With approximately 18 days until our May 7th, Symphony OTS sets sail, we were notified last week that one of our Royal-Up bids was accepted and our credit card was immediately charged. We were previously in a deck 8 Jr. Suite and are now the excited winners of a 1 bedroom Aqua Theatre Suite with Sky Class Amenities. Our bid, in the “weak”range, combined with our original payment for the Jr. Suite equates to approximately 55% of what the 1 bedroom Aqua Theatre suite would have cost if booked originally. We are - Happy cruisers!
