  1. Any new word on this? Are they replacing it with anything? Thanks!
  2. Yes, informed. If we are to go to a place, I want to be able to state "I'd like to go here, please" and know why. And if the vote doesn't go in my favor, well then I know what experience I'll likely have anyway, a plan of action. There are only 3 choices.
  3. Hello all! My grandmother, mother, and I will be sharing a room on Wonder. I have heard conflicting rules and I was hoping y'all can help me figure out the truth: We are all above drinking age. Are we allowed 1 bottle per person, or is it 2 per stateroom? Thanks so much!
  4. Hi all. So we booked Godfrey's tour for our Wonder of the Seas trip next month. Part of the tour is 2 hrs at a beach with a choice of Magen's, Coki, or Sapphire. I'm traveling with my 83 year old grandmother and legally blind mother. Between Coki and Sapphire, which has the easiest water entry. And how much are chair rentals? Will they do hourly as opposed to daily rates? We'll only be there for 2 hrs. I personally won't bother with a chair but I know they'll want one. Thanks!
  5. Oooh! New search criteria for the YouTubes! Thank you!
  6. Yeah, I am rethinking it. I might still consider it when I can take 2.5 weeks off at one go.
  7. My cousin cruised this ship in 2018. Even then, they reported food being barely edible and cases of food poisoning on board. When I went on the Divina in '17, I remember being appalled that the room was so dirty. Yeah, I was almost tempted to try MSC again to see if they changed for the better. Not happening now.
  8. Roatan is my absolute favorite port because of the snorkeling! Cozumel's snorkeling is also awesome, so yeah, Western Caribbean is my favorite itinerary. I usually go to Infinity Bay because the reef is amazing, but I'll be eager to see the report of Maya Key's snorkeling, too! (BTW, the video you posted in the above comment isn't working for me.)
  9. Oh yeah, absolutely! There's a reason I'm branching out. NCL has gone off the rails with their pricing, and the Prima was terrible. That said, NCL was the only line where the drink package was worth it to me. I'm not a big drinker, but I can do $30 bucks in booze in a day. A glass of wine and two cocktails will do it.
  10. That's totally fine. I was just wondering what those typically look like. For example, while NCL pretty much ALWAYS has their Free at Sea promo, and their Free at Sea almost always includes beverage, dining, wifi, and excursion credit, they only sometimes with some sailings offer 3rd and 4th person free / discounted, and only sometimes offer air discounts.
  11. So is that Monday when the week is already long af or Wednesday when the weekdays are just running together? LOL
  12. For my own future reference if I ever cruise out of NOLA: Can you drop off your bags first and then go hang out, or do you have to take your bags with you? Thanks!
  13. Hello all. While I have been on several NCL and a single RCCL cruise, I have never sailed with Carnival before. I am excited to book the Mardi Gras for this December, but I'm waiting to book to try to find a better offer. Specifically, is the RU2 code that I've heard about offered as a loyalty perk or is it more commonly offered with higher cabin classes or as a timed special? I just want to know if I should be on the lookout for that. Also, are there better times than others to book? I don't want to wait too long; I'm wondering what the standard sales / deals typically looks like for Carnival. Thanks so much!
  14. Travel agents have said they were told they were replacing it with an included, no-cost activity. Time will tell...
  15. Yeah. I'd have to ask my boss if it would be a viable option. In theory, we get "Unlimited PTO" but taking off 2+ weeks like that isn't very common. Ideally, I'd like to take a couple extra days to explore the destination port before flying home, too. I dunno. Worth considering but it's probably not a great idea right now.
  16. Hey y'all! So just thinking of cruises for next year, I am considering doing a transatlantic cruise, (Specifically, I'm eyeing the Oasis and Anthem for their April sailings next year), but the only way I could do that is if I was sure I could work remotely on the weekdays at Sea. And by that I mean, decent enough wifi to operate a Salesforce page and participate reasonably well in a Google Meets meeting. Has anyone successfully worked from a transatlantic cruise before? Any advice (even if the advice is to not try it...) Thanks!!
  17. The Donna Summer show was pretty good on Prima, but be warned there are some mentions of adult themes in the show, so you may not want to have littles there. (You may not want to have littles on the Prima, period, actually...Not as much stuff for them to do vs the Breakaway Plus class ships.) Noise Boys was phenomenal, though! I'm so grateful I got to see it before they nixed it. Also, I am not a fan of Disco...most 70s party nights are just meh if not outright cringey to me. But the Disco Experience (or whatever they're calling it) on Prima was a highlight of the trip. They did SUCH a great job with it! Sensoria was pretty good too, but the Disco night was better.
  18. Eh, it's just one more item to toss in the trash. But when I was naive and had only sailed on one NCL ship, I didn't know that the Free at Sea promotions were permanent sales, so it enticed me at the time and a bride-to-be (my cousin) to book a wedding in St. Thomas while utilizing the Escape for the rest of the Wedding celebrations: Bachelorette & Bachelor parties, Cocktail hour, Dinner, Speeches (The Escape has a private MDR you can book for free. Did you know?), Dancing, etc. It was incredible, and the cheapest wedding imaginable, and it's because we got a mail advert. My point is, it works for some people when the timing is right.
  19. How's the wifi on a transatlantic? Has anyone taken one with Starlink installed? TAs are long and I can foresee taking a transatlantic back after a European vacay to unwind while working. (So I can take all my days off for the actual European vacay but still enjoy the ocean, drinks, and nightlife...)
  20. Yep! Like I said, I did it via NCL since I was the only one going and was able to use the $50 excursion credit. With transportation and food, it cost me $19, which I couldn't have done cheaper on my own. If I had done the non-All-inclusive version (I will next time) it would have cost me $9. Hard to beat that. Actually, if you are with a large group, and there's one person per room who doesn't mind being separated from your larger group for the sake of transportation, just establish a meeting point and split up to get the better deal from the ship while the rest take advantage of the cheaper price of doing it yourself.
  21. Re: buffet + drinks...Not worth it! There are two dinky buffets of very bland food and the drinks are watered down so much they may as well be colored water. There were also lines that spiraled inside the building for the buffet because people bought the AI and that's all you got. It took more than 45 mins to get to the buffet and when I did there were a lot of options that were out. No guacamole either. I'll do Chankanaab again, but pay for a restaurant on the beach instead. I'm sure it would take much less time and be a much better experience in terms of quality and experience..
  22. They had 3 or 4 times to leave, roughly every hour. They tell you the times. If I recall correctly, the last one was around 3:30 for me. I got there about 15 minutes early and waited in a covered, but open area until my group was ready and then they put you in a cab to go home. Easy! As for going...that was a little more chaotic. We waited outside for about 30 mins or so before we were able to go. Everyone was there; we weren't waiting on a person, just the bus.
  23. I used the Ship's option, which I think was listed for $69, but with NCL's excursion credit, I got it for $19. That included transportation to and from. I don't know how much it currently is to just get a ticket and get a taxi independently.
