  1. Welp, not looking like today's the day for Summer 2015 Quantum! ...unless they surprise us with a late day release.

No press release to the media also. They usually have a press release and then the bookings open up. The C & A D+ desk is also unaware of what is going on. I guess it's business as usual at the Crown & Anchor Society.

Gentlemen, I guess it probably won't be until later in the week knowing RCI. It did indicate "week of" Feb 10th. I guess all we can do is keep checking daily and when one of us finds out, we can post it here. I know so many people are anxiously awaiting the news. ;)

  2. Hi Anne, everyone is well, thanks!:) I'm looking into changing my Quantum bookings to the Summer 2015 as well....most likely July or August cause my youngest is still in school. I checked the website, nothing is showing up past April 2015. I called the main number and C&A this morning...one rep didn't have a clue on their own announcement(not surprised) and the other one simply said (not yet) Guess we have to patiently wait (again).

If anyone notices they are up, please post on this thread.

So glad everyone is doing well. Yes I checked site this morning also. Hopefully this week it will open up. Will definitely stop back here to post if I see it up. Take care!

  3. Assuming Quantum continues Caribbean itineraries for the Summer, looks like we can book her next week!!:D Check it out:

Lets hope there aren't delays like there were last year.

Hi Roe, thanks for posting!!! Hope you and the family are doing well. We need to cruise again together one of these days. ;)

Unsure, best advice is just to keep checking early and often... That's what I'll be doing.

Annefran, looks like we'll get to book earlier than expected!!! Fingers crossed.

Dave this made my day! I will definitely be rebooking my QOTS cruise from Dec 2014 to June 2015 once I see the schedule next week. DD is graduating from college late May, so early June should be ok. We have already done the 9 night Bermuda/Caribbean itinerary on Explorer but this time it will be ALL about the ship and enjoying the Spa JS. Oh yeah! :D

  4. I agree about the airplanes. If the airlines would step up and sanitize, maybe they could help prevent the spread of this virus and others. I always carry Clorox wipes and wipe down all surfaces around me. I am amazed to see the stares from people when I do this, while other passengers do nothing.

I think flying is worse than cruise ships for catching "bugs". The last few times I have flown, I've come home with a cold or some sort of bug. I have learned to try NOT to use the restrooms on board for the duration of the flight. I carry Lysol or Clorox wipes also to wipe down the seat rests/buttons and tray tables. Hey let them look at least I'm not touching dirty surfaces. LOL

Unfortunately, sometimes the other people on the flight are ill and there's no way around getting sick. I used to love to fly, nowadays not as much. This is a tough time of year for sickness. Stay well everyone!

  5. As FIRELT and I discussed in another thread (can't remember which one), Quantum calls in St. Maarten on a Monday every 14 days through Summer 2015, which clearly indicates she'll be back to the 9 night, 5 night Explorer schedule. Whether the other ports beyond St. Maarten will be the same as Explorer's program this year we simply don't know at this point.

So a RCCl Press release for the QOS Bermuda/Summer 2015 may look like this

Quantum of the Seas will sail out of Bayonne, New Jersey in Summer 2015 and offer 5-night Bermuda cruises on May 2,16,30; June 13,27; July 11, 25; August 8, 22, 2015. Quantum will also offer 9-night Bermuda and Caribbean itineraries on May 7, 21; June 4, 18; July 2, 16, 30; August 13, 2015. Quantum Of the Seas will commence sailings to New England/Canada on August 27, 2015 :)

    Fast fwd 1yr to 2015 summer/fall.

You guys are the greatest! Thanks so much!

  6. We were just on Oasis last week. I asked him his schedule but he did not have an ending date yet. The only ones firm were Alan who left on Saturday and Carolina who leaves May 31.

Israel is a super nice guy. Yes, he must sit at his desk a lot because the CL concierges have much more administrative duties. We didn't spend much time at all there but he did come out from behind his desk each time and was very friendly. I did realize that I saw Alan once in the promenade and didn't realize who it was. He looked familiar. That's when I realized it was the first time ever I'd seen him standing up. LOL I feel know Israel much better.

The DL which was in Blaze was really nice. There is a large bar in there and it just seemed easier to socialize and was much more spacious in spite of there being over 550 D and above on board. Most people left at 6 and very few ever came back. I find Carolina to be a real social butterfly, too.

More than you asked for... :o

    Gina

Gina always better to have more information than not enough. Thanks so much (again) for your quick response. Happy Cruising!

  7. OA Oasis -(Concierge)Israel Sanchez(as of 11/02/13) and Charmaine Fernandes

    -(Diamond)Carolina Cullbera until 5-31-14

    Allan Fajardo on vacation

To email the concierge, use the 2 letter code for ship(i.e EX for Explorer),followed by an underscore then Concierge@rccl.com The underscore is ONLY between the ships two letters and Concierge. i.e EX_Concierge@rccl.com

    **For the Rhapsody RH_SuitesConcierge@rccl.com

    **For the Grandeur GR_SuitesConcierge@rccl.com

**On Oasis and Allure you need a 01 or 02 in the email address since there are 2 concierges on each ship i.e OA_Concierge01@rccl.com or OA_Concierge02@rccl.com

On ships with Diamond lounge concierge, add the word Diamond in front of Concierge

    i.e FR_DiamondConcierge@rccl.com

Is Israel going to be on board for my May 3, 2014 cruise on Oasis of the Seas? How is he?

  8. He was on Monarch out of Port Canaveral for a while. Most people love him. He was great for party cruises but a bit over the top and loud and jumping around for me. If you are going solo with a group of friends, you'll probably enjoy his "enthusiasm". I'm sure he's very nice as a person, just a bit much as a CD for my taste.

    Gina

Thanks Gina for the quick response and your honest opinion. Will let everyone know what I think of him when I write my cruise review after I get back. ;)

  9. We don't have any information on this area yet. But based on what we've seen them rolling back to the other classes (specifically the extent of what Freedom ships get) it seems like she'll be on par with what Oasis offers, just a tad smaller. Since they've now learned since Oasis/Allure she may even offer more things, just in a smaller footprint.

RCI hasn't posted much new information on Quantum lately. I think we are ALL due for a "fix" soon.:D

  10. Based on the port schedules and the original announcement of Bermuda, she'll be following the same schedules as Explorer currently does. Summer is a very profitable time for them, and they wouldn't want to give that up on longer itineraries that many can't take.

I have to agree. Alas, would love a longer itinerary in the Summer months too but I doubt it will happen. I CANNOT wait for the Summer 2015 schedule to be posted by RCI. I have a QOTS cruise for Dec 2014 and want to switch it over to early June 2015 for a college graduation gift for my DD. Should be coming out in March correct guys?

  11. Yes we were at a Muster Drill on Explorer of the Seas back in 2010 and a man that worked with me at the time, walked by with his family. So weird! It took me several days to run into him again. Another time, we were booked on a 5 night Bermuda cruise on Explorer too. Before we left, I had asked a neighbor to take in our garbage cans whille we were away. He said he couldn't do it for me because he was on our cruise too!

I have also encountered several people that I met over the years on cruises who were sailing with us again. :p

  12. We sailed on the Freedom of the Seas in May 2013 and did MTD for the very first time. We had the same time for dinner every night and requested the same waitstaff. I was pleasantly surprised and felt like it was just like having the normal early seating time we are used to. We couldn't get there every night and would just cancel our reservation. Never had to wait in the long line since we had standing reservations. The wait staff was wonderful, knew what we liked to drink every night etc. I would highly recommend it. Enjoy!:D

  13. Hi All,

I found out something great that I didn't know yesterday about cruising solo on RCI. If you cruise alone, you are entitle to double C&A points for that cruise. Example: 4 night cruise is 8 C&A points. If you book a JS or above you get triple the points. (12 in this case). It made my day! :p

  14. Anyway....to get back on subject.

I spoke to a friend who was on the EOS cruise prior to this one. She said her & her hubby got sick as soon as they got home. I guess the virus was already starting on the previous cruise and it got progressively worse on this one. So sorry for all that were affected and got sick during their vacation. It's never fun but I think RCI did the best they could in a horrible situation.

Legally RCI doesn't have to pay any type of compensation to the passengers. A RCI rep stated that on the news recently (not my words). But they did anyway was good business sense and I think it is what it is unfortunately. I won't ever keep me from cruising on RCI in the future.

Let's hope the cruise that leaves today stays healthy. This is just a bad time of year for any type of flu or virus. Wash your hands people, try to adhere to not touching railings, elevator buttons...common sense. Stuff happens unfortunately, happy cruising.....

  15. From the way I read it, I thought he met her through a site like that and then they chose to share a cabin on an unrelated cruise, not that the hosted cruise placed them together. I can assume that neither of them cared, either because a) they didn't care or b) one or both was homosexual, so there was no more concern for sexual interest than two heterosexuals of the same sex sharing a cabin.

Not sure how they met, online maybe through a CC thread. I think they even shared a hotel room the night before. I know my friend's intensions were to share the cost of the cabin expenses and wasn't interested in a relationship. At first he said the lady was ok with that too but then once they were on board, she tried to change the "rules" (his words not mine). He said it was a short cruise and he just avoided her as much as possible.

I still cannot believe he did it but to each his own. I know I wouldn't do that. I am going to enjoy my cabin all to myself in May ;).

Like I said, I'm lucky that I have some friends on board already but this won't keep me from making new ones (hopefully) too. Meeting people on your CC cruise thread is a great start. At least you will have a few friends/acquaintances to start out with to go to shows or possible share meals too. I have friends all over the country and outside the country that I met on our CC threads.

I know once I go on this cruise in May (solo) and conquer this unknown, I will definitely be booking other cruises in the future. Much luck everyone! Happy Cruising!
