  1. I can't quite remember TBH, I think he invited us all at one of the evening LGBTQ mixers. I may be wrong about that. πŸ˜‚
  2. I suppose it depends what your go to drinks are. If you're happy with house wines, house spirits and the most popular cocktails then the Classic package should treat you well. I like trying new cocktails, I like different gins and my partner loves his whiskeys. Almost everything at the Martini Bar was over the price covered by the Classic package. So upgrading was a no-brainer for us.
  3. Thank you - very kind! We really enjoyed the 'Howl at the moon' pool party. It was about 10:30pm, and white dress code (although obviously not enforced - it's a pool party). Lots of music, acrobatics, dancing, themed cocktails etc. The wine tastings Celebrity do mid-afternoon can be great fun too. Usually a dozen or so, paired with cheeses etc. Just realise the rest of your afternoon might be a bit wobbly πŸ˜‰ It was our first Celebrity cruise too. Other than the fact they offer a different level of service with better quality food/drink I don't think there's anything you need to be aware of per se. That said we did notice a lot of the nicer cocktails in each bar were out the range of the 'classic' beverage package, so we upgraded on embarkation day to 'premium' which they had an offer on for day one - and threw in 6 bottles of wine for our stateroom also.
  4. We only saw 'LIFE' which was an hour of modern pop/dance numbers with acrobatics and decent dancing. It was very entertaining and had people bopping in their seats - but it's not groundbreaking. Definitely an enjoyable show though - I think it would probably suit a later seating anyway as you can head to the disco after!
  5. Hi there Bridgemates, I was referring to to the cabins on Independence being tired. The ones on Summit, which you can see in my review, are amazing.
  6. Also should say I'm happy to try and answer any questions you might have about Summit after her refurb!
  7. Hi guys, Really glad you liked the review! Great to have some feedback and comments! We were very impressed with the work done, especially as we'd not long sailed on Independence OTS (review: http://www.tomlovescruising.com/2019/01/28/independenceots/) and we a little disappointed that whilst the refurb touched a few public spaces that the cabins were as tired as ever. I hope those of you sailing soon get to enjoy Cruise Director Rich, he's really laid back chap with a relaxing deep husky voice, such a great guy.
  8. Hi Guys, My partner Jimmy and I sailed aboard Celebrity Summit at the end of October / beginning of November 2019 just after her massive 'Celebrity Revolution' renovation. Our sailing was the Southern Caribbean itinerary: San Juan, Basseterre, Day at sea, Aruba, CuraΓ§ao, Bonaire, Day at sea, San Juan. You can read my review of the ship, and see my photos, over on my blog here: http://www.tomlovescruising.com/2020/01/03/celebrity-summit-review/ We were thoroughly impressed with the expedited arrival system - it took us EIGHT MINUTES from getting out the taxi to being given a welcome drink onboard. The ship itself is looking absolutely stunning. The staterooms are gorgeous, the bathrooms well designed and the beds are beyond comfortable. I know she's an older lady now, but you won't be disappointed by a trip on Summit in 2020. Tom πŸ™‚
  9. You know, not everything is our fault. We don't get together in committee rooms and sit around deciding what we want to spoil for everyone. We use mirrors too. πŸ™„
  10. OK, I’m not *that* kind of millennial πŸ˜‚ I’m the half decent job working in social media kind of gay millennial - I still have to budget πŸ˜‚
  11. I'm a millenial that cruises Celebrity πŸ‘ Whilst the general tone of the new decor really does appeal to me, and I don't mind those high stools in the retreat lounge - those wooden chairs on the balcony look ridiculous. I want to spend hours out there, maybe fall asleep with my music and a drink - not sit bolt upright thinking about what I've done wrong.
  12. Oh my gosh, I think I'd go stark raving mad! Glad you had a good time tho :)
  13. Hello! Apologies for the delay in getting back to you folks on this, I came back from our mini cruise and went into a massive media campaign for work. Anyway, just finished my review. I know some people have very strong opinions on specific cruise lines / cruise ships, and I know no one review will please everybody - this is just my honest thoughts after a short trip aboard the Marco Polo. http://www.tomlovescruising.com/2019/07/15/marco-polo/
