Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We just returned from a week in R616, one of the S4 Riviera deck suites on the Discovery, and previously had a similar one on the Sky. We haven't tried any of the other locations so can't really compare, but my impressions were: The location was great, near to the concierge lounge and the aft elevators. It was easy to stagger over to the lounge for my first dose of caffeine each morning, and to pop up two flights of stairs to visit the Wake View bar. The suite layout was good, with enough storage space for all of our stuff and a heavy curtain between the bedroom and living areas so the early riser (me) wouldn't need to disturb the late sleeper too much in the morning! The separate bathroom entrances were also a plus. The balcony is indeed quite narrow. We didn't entertain or spend a lot of time out there, so it was adequate for our needs. But it could be suboptimal if you want to host a party or spread out and sunbathe. One other note: Our suite was quite near a crew area door and the laundry room, but we never heard a thing from either.
  2. A couple of suggestions: Buried deep on the Princess "Accessible Cruising" page they mention an email address accessofficeprincess@princesscruises.com to handle things like mobility assistance and service animal requests. They might also be able to help answer your questions. If your daughter enjoys watching videos, there are some on YouTube that show the embarkation process in Seattle, like this and this. That would give her (and you) some idea what to expect when you arrive. I hope everything works out well and all of you have a great cruise!
  3. @MustangGTOne 4-device plan is usually the same price or less than two 1-device plans, so that's what we did on our last cruise. If you have a 1-device plan included with Princess Plus, that does change the math. You'd need to pay extra to upgrade one of your plans to add more devices. Then it's a tradeoff between cost and convenience.
  4. We cancelled a cruise on June 30 and had the FCCs in our accounts on July 9. Our TA worked with Princess to extend the courtesy hold on a replacement cruise for next year until the FCCs arrived and could be used for the deposit. Edited to add: I just realized I didn't answer your actual question. I wrote to our TA when I noticed the FCCs were there (no notification from Princess) and they were applied to the new cruise the same day.
  5. One recent data point: We cancelled a late August cruise on June 30. The credit card refund was processed on July 2, and the FCCs for the balance appeared in our accounts on July 9. We used the FCCs as a deposit for a cruise next year, so that might have have helped expedite things. (These FCCs expire 9/30/23.)
  6. Has anyone successfully accepted the Passage Contract recently? I've been trying since Friday but it keeps removing the checkbox when I hit "Save" (on those occasions when it lets me get that far.) I tried on three different iDevices and the web version, including the new app version released today, all behave the same.
