We are getting ready to book the Splendor for the first time.
In looking at the layout, there is a rotisserie. From doing searches,
I have found that it serves chicken, but I can't find a menu specific to it.
Does it serve anything besides chicken?
Looks like one of those out of the way places, like fish & chips
or pasta, that is easily overlooked early in a cruise.
thanks
Chicken and sides, that's it.

Is it one of those 4J's
6S. Same thing though.
-
its looks you have a spa cabin. Did you go to the spa for free?
Yes it is a spa cabin, you can see the yellow spa towels in this pic and the slippers on the bed in the other.
-
That's a cool cabin! Does it have a balcony or is the secret deck your balcony :)
We have one of the aft wraps on deck 6 and it has a different configuration from most rooms. There is a window behind the beds - I love that!
The secret deck was our balcony, pity we couldn't enjoy if for long and there are no chairs or loungers out there. There are 2 windows BTW and no couch.
Here is a different angle.

I've booked a cabana in Grand Turk. Do I have to go to the excursion desk to request a location???
Do the beds in 1003 go together or are they head to head?
Thanks,
Maggie
You have to go to the excursion desk.
Even separated the beds would be side by side but they do go together.
-
The deck 10 "Secret" deck isn't far from my cabin :) I intend on checking that one out!
We were in 1003, the door was right next to our cabin.
-
I remember that on the Triumph and the Victory you could go from one to the other via some stairs that connected them. Can you do the same on the Splendor?
From 10 to 9 for sure.
-
where is this secret deck located at?
Deck 10 all the way forward (either side) there is a set of doors on the side leading to the outside deck. There is also one on Decks 9,7 and 6.
-
Just under 11 inches with the top open.
Probably still wouldn't fit then.
-
Our "Mega-Suitcase" is 11" x 26" x 32". Do you think it will fit under the bed?
Sounds a bit high. How deep is it with the top open?
-
That video is the dugs danglies!!!
brilliant. Cannot wait till its my turn.
This was shot from the Deck 10 "Secret deck" area by the way. There was probably a total of 10 people up there.

Nice! Where is the one going under the Varranzaro Narrows bridge?
We'd gone in by then. I was thinking of adding stuff I shot from when we were on the Miracle, but it would be authentic ;) .

A taste of cruising from NY.

I thought I had read somewhere (maybe even in this thread) that there was one ship at $49 and the rest still at $42.Just got off of the Conquest Sunday...the Cheers pkg was $49.95 + 15% gratuity...$57.44 per day...$402.08 per person for 7 days
That's 5 confirmed - Conquest, Breeze, Liberty, Pride, Splendor.
I think it's going fleetwide.
-
I just spoke with a rep and they said $42.95.
I don't care what some no brain, no nothing "rep" said. I know what I paid.

Excellent!! :D Looking forward to trying it!!
Oh, that's interesting. I would've assumed that HMC would be included since it's owned by the cruise line. Can you use your S&S Card at all or will I need to bring either cash or my credit card (or both) ashore? I have been to HMC but it was with Holland America (we could use our ship card on the island) so I don't know if Carnival does things the same way.
That's good to know but I'm really not planning on being airlifted from the ship!! I have seen it happen to others though (once on the Legend and once on the Dream). :(
Your card works the same on HMC, the drinks get added to your bill.
-
Does the Splendor have the Cheers Program onboard? I would love to try it if possible!! I'm not sailing on her until October 2014 but I'm going to try to read and learn anything and everything about the ship between now and then!! :D
Yup, $49.95 per day plus gratuity.
Does not include HMC.
They will refund it if you get airlifted off the ship and back charge you for he drinks consumed.
-
They really need to promote from within and move some of the ships crew into land based positions, as that is where they are weakest.
Can you imagine how fast the new schedules would come out if Ketut the Steward was in charge of them?
-
Heck...avoid the the tenders and the crowds and stay on board pool side.
Have the pool to yourself and enjoy the drinks on your cheers program rather than forking more money over to them for no reason.
You could, but then you run into that pesky 15 drink limit thing. ;)
On the other hand, one wouldn't expect the cheers program to cover drinking in any other port would one?
-
I just need some updated info. Is cheers now $57.50per person/per day?
With gratuity, yes.
-
If I buy the Cheers Program is it a sticker to my cruise card? How does the ship determine who has purchased the program?
There is a sticker on your card but the computer system has you down as Cheers.
-
Thanks! Will definitely check it out! At least you got one day to do fun things :(
There are still some cabins left on the June 10 sailing - come join us! ;)
I seriously doubt I would be medically cleared to travel by then but thanks.
-
New tip:
The first sea day there is a cooking demonstration (with samples) at the Steakhouse. This is a free event and will probably be the best lunch you will eat on board. Check your Funtimes and come early because it fills up fast.
Our menu was:
Mushroom Cappuccino Soup
Baby Leaf Spinach and Mushroom Salad
Broiled Rosemary Infused Chicken
Tiramisu

Anyone, is there a Cherry on Top candy store on the Splendor? Thanks.
No, still the old Formalities. They have Candy though.

They still have DODs, you just don't have to pay extra for the hurricane glass anymore. Since they are under $10 you can get them on the program.
