Will you be posting images of the cruise compass? and the menus? I would be interested in seeing them as I will be on this cruise in 66 days.

Great review! Thank you so much for the wonderful photos and videos on the new water slides. Since you did the self-carry disembarkation, how long did it actually take you to get off the ship and out of customs?

Once you can complete the online check-in, you'll see on that page "Onboard Activities Waivers". That link takes you to the waivers you can sign electronically.
Thank you! I was thinking it might be in the online check-in. I'm glad to have the confirmation.

Activities:
Take the time to sign all the waivers on-line before you sail, you’ll save a ton of time on board.
where did you find the online waivers? How far in advance can we fill these out?
Thanks for the great review!

We eat in the MDR every night--it's one of my family's favorite things to do. We usually do early seating. We love getting to know our wait staff. We love just sitting around the table together since our usual lives are so hectic at home that a family meal (with Grandmothers, Aunts, Uncles) is rare and the MDR is the perfect place for us.

I've always enjoyed the singing and dancing. I enjoy taking my time enjoying dinner. I would miss it--but it doesn't have to be every night.

I can't recall exactly but my daughter had a lessona month ago, I'm pretty sure it was $70.00. She lucked out, there was only one other student who stopped after 20 minutes so she basically got a private lesson. It was money well spent.
Thanks IandY. This will give me a frame of reference when I look/schedule for my son.

I will miss the lobster on our upcoming 4 night cruise, but the new menu seems thoughtful. I never ate more than 2. So what is the real opinion of the $20 lobster--is it worth it? I may give it a try or not.

The Maitre'd of the Imagination emailed me back and has he will honor my request for a table for two. He was very nice and very responsive. So thanks for the advice all. Thanks as well to our Maitre'd!

$55
Wow, that's it--$55 per person for the Behind the Fun? You get that at the guest services or shore excursion desk?
Kerrie :)

We cruise the Elation a lot. it is supposed to be the first 2 letters of the name of the ship so, elmaitred@carnival.com. I know Dream is drmaitred.com. But there are few that are different. There is a list somewhere. sorry..
Thanks! if someone has the list that would be great--but this is very helpful. We will be traveling on the Imagination so following these rules it would be immaitred@carnival.com. I will test it out to see if it works.

Technically your TA is correct. Carnival does not take requests for table size. They will note it on reservation but do not guarantee it will be honored. We e-mail Maitre d a week before. ( so far we have had success )
How do you find out the name and email of the Maitre D for your sailing? I wanted to request a table for two and was told I would have to wait until I got on board as well. But I would love to be able to contact them in advance.

One of my favorite parts is that first night when you get into bed knowing that you have however many days of not having to cook, clean or work. That feeling of you and your loved ones are being taken care of and you can just relax. It's why I love cruising as a vacation.

Kobayashi,
I know it's been a while since you did this cruise, but your review is so excellent I thought I'd try here to have my question answered. On port days, does anyone know what time the dining room is open for breakfast? I would love to eat there, but we will have early excursions. Any info would be great.

I received a price drop for an Oct. 2015 cruise yesterday! Saved $180! I checked on my Oct. 2016 cruise, but no drop.

ALL cruise lines do and have to change in order to keep their product fresh and stay in tune with the ever-changing wants of their customers. How boring would they be if they were always the same old thing. For me, I am ready for the onboard activities to be given a major shakeup. Personally I like a lot of the more traditional cruise aspects that are falling to the wayside (fixed seating, dressing for dinner to indicate one is not at Applebee's, but is in fact in a special environment etc.) but am accepting that that approach is rapidly disappearing (and no, I am not a crusty old retiree, I am a very youthful 43, thank you). It is certainly not enough of an issue to keep us from cruising, just a personal preference.
I too do not believe Carnival ever catered to an older crowd. The activities used to be even more juvenile than some of the current ones. Stuffing fruit down your swimsuit, men running around in nightgowns etc.
I totally agree with you Cruzeluver. I enjoy the traditional cruising experience as well and I, too, am only 44--but the changes will not keep me from cruising and I do enjoy new experiences on board. I do miss the availability of live music to dance to.

I'm so happy RCI has returned to LA! Finally I can cruise RCI every year again! I won't have to do anymore Carnival cruises! Well, except the 2 I already have booked. 😀 Not that I don't enjoy those, it's just RCI is my preferred cruise line. I'm so excited!
