  1. Shuttle from ship to city,,,,take your pick there are many Tapas bars. Try this site for ideas….. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwif757x6-D9AhUaUsAKHcFLCggQFnoECA4QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.esprincep.com%2Fen%2Fblog%2Fthe-10-most-authentic-tapas-restaurants-in-palma&usg=AOvVaw0JAoRxmXd5SiDjwcwoamL0 Linked article from Es Princep, by Xisco Mateu June 19, 2018
  2. Hi Just used the pro former at Nationwide,,,,,,computer says No!! Will not cover me,,,,big problem is Heart By-Pass and Diabetes plus others like BP. Im with AllClear and quite happy with them for European cover inc cruises,,,no inclination to travel to the Caribbean or USA. Thanks for your suggestions.
  3. Hi Depends on the level of pre existing medical conditions. I asked Nationwide if I opened the Flexi Plus account re insurance, taking into account my conditions they said they wouldn’t cover me.
  4. P&O cruises in the UK req minimum £2m medical cover insurance for you to be allowed to cruise. I suspect Cunard will be the same. “Your policy must include medical cover of £2 million minimum that includes cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to COVID-19. You must also ensure your policy includes full cover for any and all pre-existing medical conditions worldwide, or as a minimum, in the countries you are due to visit.” I have unlimited cover with my insurer for £600 a year for both of us but does not include travel to the USA. It covers lots of pre-existing med conditions. Some UK companies won’t even consider cover for the US or Caribbean for over 70’s or if they do the cost is prohibitive.
  5. There was an advert in my local paper here in the UK for jobs on cruise ships. Mostly for work in kids club or nursery,,,starting wage =£1760 a month board & lodging included.
  6. Thanks all for advice. For info…Jet2 is now the largest airline using Manchester, overtaking TUI. Flew with them to Alicante for NYE holiday…staff and organisation brilliant.
  7. I know it doesn’t help for this year but we docked in Flåm last year on Borealis.
  8. Looking at a Azura cruise from Malta. Wife won’t fly unless she has leg room, how do I book legroom on flight from Manchester when booking online?
  9. No..I was on Iona 3 weeks ago and it was as you described it.
  10. Apart from Bergen I can’t remember seeing HoHo buses in Fjords stops. Most stops are one street towns,,,what stops are you visiting.?
  11. Plus you get American measures for spirits.
  12. Not so,,,we got cans (small) with mixed drinks ie Vodka and slimline tonic or cans of Ginger Ale. Probably because they wasn’t available on draught.
  13. One thing I still can’t work out,,,we had the DP on Iona two weeks age. It says any drink up to £6.95. My wife asked for a J2O,,,,server said sorry mam not on the DP,,,,J2O is priced at £2.85.
  14. I thought it was only foreign tourists who holidayed in London. You have picked one of the most expensive cities in the word for accommodation. Come over to Liverpool for a great weekend for less than £200 a night.🥳
  15. The Prosecco they serve on P&O is called Canti….it’s £8 a bottle in the supermarkets. Alcohol by volume=11% The measure on P&O supposed to be 125ml. I agree with you the measures are all over the place,,,depends on which bar server and which bar you go in.
  16. Have you seen P&O drink measures?😏 Plus I’m sure some inexperienced bar staff on my Iona cruise two weeks age where using the 25ml spirit measure, they were the meanest glass of Prosecco I’ve ever been served.
  17. Yes,,,this being ashore is a red herring,,,,,,most people may have one or two alcoholic drinks during the day or none. Most people who go ashore are back on board for a late lunch unless they are on a 8 hr excursion. The real drinking is of an evening. My wife likes a Prosecco,,,at £6.25 she has x2 before dinner,x2 during dinner,x2 after dinner she is quids in with the DP without counting coffee or soft drinks.
  18. Iona being bunkered in Rotterdam last week,,,,I don’t think that is a LNG tanker.
  19. In my considerable experience the cans of Boddingtons bitter and Guinness onboard is no different to that pulled as draft onshore,,,,unless it’s draft Guinness pulled in Ireland of course.
  20. You could employ a housekeeper for a week and pay them £6000.
  21. It’s no up front chargeable but items are priced. The 32oz Tomahawk for 2 is £34.
