  1. @cruiseny4life For more details, go here: https://www.ncl.com/ca/en/cruise-faq/what-is-onboard-service-charge I cannot get your link to work. But I see a usual peculiar NCL statement. "Onboard Service Charges are additional" ????????????? TO WHAT? An incomplete statement
  2. @fstuff1 Where are you travelling? If it is any large body of water with no land nearby you may well be going in and out of satellite coverage as we did for 5 days from New York to Ponta Delgada.
  3. @RocketMan275 It appears in your account but NOT in your account in MY NCL. It is usually only visible to whoever has arranged the FCC in the first place. Ours, in the past, only are visible to our PCC. He only checks on our account when I ask him a question and if there is something there he lets me know. If you have been informed that you will get some FCC always check with your PCC, if necessary on a weekly basis!!!
  4. @TrumpyNor So all replies from someone who can tell me the actual meaning of that sentence when it comes to price-drop FCC will be highly appreciated. Hello again Anita Sorry but I don't have a direct line to anyone in NCL who thinks up their complicated English. I have yet to get a specific answer to any of that type of query from anyone in NCL. They only make up the rules and think about the actual meaning AFTER the event when people like you and I challenge a ruling. I would suggest you try Katty (?) Byrd but DON'T mention my name!!!!! VBG Mike
  5. For me always the last one; that is till I am getting close to the next which WILL be the most scenic!!!!
  6. @TrumpyNor Hello Anita These credits will be available for one year to book and sail, upon completion of your current sailing on Debarkation Day. My reading of this is that the credit will be in your account on the date you debark on August 15th or one day later depending on the date in Miami rather than in Tromsø or Reykjavik; though they are probably all the same unlike for me!!!! Then you will have to book AND depart on the cruise you want to apply it to, that is it will have to leave BEFORE August 15th 2024; although you could argue that you could depart on the 15th. However I wouldn't bank on that. The "present" cruise finishes in the early morning of the 15th and any cruise that starts on the 15th does so later in the day!! NCL tend to be more pedantic about things than even I am. The completion of that cruise should have NO effect on the usage. HTH Mike
  7. The check of check-in times depends on the port and many do not adhere to them; YET!! The best thing would be for you to either wait till she is available or for you to do both as it is on the same booking.
  8. Easy thing, if that bothers you don't eat in the buffet where you could be offended by the actions of others, eat in a serviced restaurant. We always do!!
  9. @Muckyduckway There must be some, as we take a bottle of Muscato, to bring home, and drink other wines from the normal list while on board.
  10. @Travel To Be Free Remember that you will be able to get group numbered tender tickets for the whole party so watch the Freestyle Daily and go EARLY. Also if you are high enough in Latitudes you don't need a tender ticket, you can join the line, at the back, when you wish. And again, if you are in a suite or the Haven, the concierge will get you off at the front of the line.
  11. @Travel To Be Free We did:- Monaco & Monte Carlo From Cannes, you’ll drive to Monaco, about an hour where after leaving your coach, you'll be carried to the top of the rock by escalators and elevators. Lots of people part journey two lifts carrying only 19 On the upper level, enjoy a guided walking tour passing by the Oceanographic Museum, the cathedral, and view the exterior of the Prince's palace. 20 minutes After a short period of free time, about an hour for lunch and shopping you’ll re-board your coach and head to Monte Carlo 20 minute drive to enjoy some additional leisure time 30 minutes near the Place du Casino. You may wish to stroll across the street to admire the Hotel de Paris, do a little window shopping, or even try your luck at the Casino de Monte Carlo you can go in the atrium free or the Cafe de Paris Casino to go in needs an actual passport,. Need To Know: Casino de Monte Carlo (entrance fee of 17 Euros in cash) opens at 2:00 PM to gamble. Visitors must be at least 18 years of age, show passport or driver’s license. Formal dress is not required to enter most of the casino, but smart dress is strongly encouraged; no shorts or flip-flops are allowed. There is a free-admission, American-style casino at the Cafe de Paris, which opens at 10 am. see above This tour is not considered suitable for wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. To reach Casino Square, there is an approximate 10 minute walk and 80 steps from the coach parking area. Guests must take escalators and elevators from the parking area at the Rock of Monaco to the Old town. To get back down requires a number of steps missing the top escalator. We had 8 buses, the meet point at the end was VERY crowded with other buses dropping off passengers. Ours came at 5-10 minute intervals and the return journey was really slow due to the traffic.
  12. I am not a coffee aficionado and found the coffee in the Suites dining rooms (French Press at breakfast) and "regular" at lunch to be very strong and gritty. In the evening it was really a mixed bag depending on who made, how long it had been standing and how hot it started. However I had a simple coffee/hot water maker in the room and always got a similar cup of coffee from the bags provided that i found very drinkable.
  13. @Travel To Be Free I hope that they will change the order of Shorex departures so if you are intending to do one to Monaco create a fuss if they are not first off!!! We went there last week and were 90 minutes late getting back. It was extremely quick as they used some ship tenders but also a local one that carried 250 guests. As we were on a tour I don't know when open tendering happened but be prepared for the last passengers to be off by 11am.
  14. @Mommu98 Personally I would arrive 3 or even 4 days early, have a hotel for 1 night, take the train to Fairbanks and hotel for 2 nights, fly back to Anchorage for the night before the cruise in the same hotel (leave your extra case in that hotel while you are away) and finally book, away from NCL, a bus to Seward that will pick you up at your hotel. HTH Mike
  15. @YVRteacher As I said, I wrote that BEFORE the later posts, as it came up on the previous page and so I answered it from that one. The implication in my answer to your FIRST post was that he was, almost certainly, on vacation NOW.
  16. @YVRteacher Steven, GM, will, almost certainly, be away on vacation. This was answered before the later posts. Shame as we were looking forward to seeing him on the Jewel later this year.
  17. If you have the drink package two cups of black coffee and a straight double Drambuie. DRINK YOUR DESSERT!! However in the past before I gave up sickly, nasty desserts it was always, (to quote @AKR2011) the Chocolate Marquise from Le Bistro! No photo, but it looks like a Chocolate sausage. Very rich and delicious!
  18. If you really want to be remembered get really bushy eyebrows that are over an inch long!!!!!
  19. Always formal; Mr & Mrs Wells or Mr Michael Wells and Mrs Pauline Wells just like the waiters, etc, use Mr Michael or Ms (or Mam) Pauline
  20. I find it amazing and enlightening when I board a cruise ship and someone comes across from their desk, station or w.h.y. with a Mr Mike, or a Ms Pauline for my wife, with the date and ship we previously met on. We will talk to anyone and love the camaraderie over the years without "keeping in touch". There is a bond in cruising that overrides names.
  21. Black & White is the RIGHT colour!!
  22. @Alan C The dress code of the dining room it will be held in and it will probably be enforced.
  23. What do you expect? This is Cruise CRITIC after all!!
