Future Cruise Credit disappointment - buyer beware
Jeremiah1212 replied to 1Virgo's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Well I stand by my comment that there is confusion around how onboard bookings work. Still waiting for something that shows these lock in inclusions but I’m not holding my breath. By that logic you could just buy an open booking, book Cruise Only and get All Included for free 🤷🏼♂️ -

Agree to disagree? That’s not how they work. I’d still be interested in seeing the document that outlines your interpretation. -
Future Cruise Credit disappointment - buyer beware

There’s some misunderstanding here. There are 2 choices. You either pick a specific cruise or do an open booking/book later where you choose a cruise later. You never were able to lock in inclusions or the “best rates” on a booking that doesn’t exist yet. You can also use the open booking on All Included or Cruise Only rates, they are not All Included by default. The open booking is always subject to prevailing rates and promotions at the time you select a cruise. I think you may be confusing some of the features of a group rate with the onboard booking. -

Can you post the document you’re referring to? I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Future Cruise certificate that promises you’ll have All Included on a reservation that does not exist. -
Question for the TAs out there- Group Rates

Our AQ bathroom on Edge was maybe a tiny bit warmer than the cabin but the light was off unless someone was in the bathroom. Can you not just turn the light off when you're not using the bathroom?

Are we back to three evening dress codes again?

It’s surprising they even try anymore but maybe it hard to juggle when people want 5 star dining while wearing their athleisure and Hey Dude house shoes 🤷🏼♂️ -
👍 The average max capacity for the Celebrity fleet is about 115%, give or take. That's why when people say "my ship is at 98% capacity...nearly full!" without some context that number is meaningless and most likely wrong. The spread on Beyond and Ascent between 100% and actual max capacity at 117% equates to nearly 600 additional people.

"You are required to download the mobile app prior to sailing"
Jeremiah1212 replied to fshagan's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Some ships use a sign on the cabin door that says something like drop your bags then go enjoy the ship. I'd say we're 50/50 with cabins being ready whenever we board, even if it's early. -
If it's being positioned as a last minute fire sale rate, yes. But what you see is the brochure or launch rate that absolutely no one pays paired with the line's current prevailing rate and presented as a 70/80/90% discount. They are all slightly different but if you are able to find Celebrity's full list of rates the accurate place to start would be listed as the Standard rate if your preferred site shows it.

Some bits of information are available before their formal release this morning: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/royal-caribbean-group-reports-third-quarter-results-and-increases-full-year-guidance-301968685.html#:~:text=MIAMI%2C Oct. 26%2C 2023,further strength in onboard revenue. As always this is Royal Caribbean group-wide not Celebrity specific. The big question you see here is how full are the ships? Occupancy is at 109.7%. Close in bookings (I believe their definition of close is <6 months to sail date) continue to outpace historical levels. So those high near last minute prices? People are paying them. Net yield guidance is increased to over 13% vs 2019 levels. Deposits are sitting at 5 billion. Current booking demand significantly exceeds 2019 levels, onboard spend exceeds significantly 2019 levels. We'll see if they release any interesting commentary from the Q&A.

Online check-in and check-in at the pier on the app with the Express Pass loaded into your mobile wallet could not be any easier. -
If you do this there is a good chance your iMessages will stop working...just fyi.

Right..in addition to Norwegian being priced very similarly to Celebrity suites. While they don't have direct competition at the Penthouse/Edge Villa/Iconic Suite level, NCLH has a fraction of the outstanding FCC that Celebrity does, mostly refundable deposits and are less generous with their bidding upgrades on NCL. I understand being frustrated about being priced out, but to say there is no market or it is a fluke is just not accurate. Will it last? Who knows. But right now people are willing to pay.

February is typically a heavily booked month for the Caribbean. Cruises that hit all three ABC's are also limited in January-March 2025. Reflection only has 4 cruises in February. Two 6 and two 8 night cruises. The February 15th 8 night cruise is the only one that stops at all three islands so that one may be more popular and expensive.

Not sure why people feel the need to try to complicate this so much. If your phone is on ship WiFi and your watch is nearby it will work fine. You cannot connect your watch directly to ship WiFi and use it without your phone nearby. Since the point is to avoid network usage, you can just verify your watch is also in airplane mode if you have a cellular model. Otherwise it doesn't matter.

2025 voyages depart and return to Southampton

November 15 is the date floating around right now. But it’s not uncommon for the release dates to shift a little right until itineraries go on sale. -
Are Celebrity ships sailing at full capacity now?
Jeremiah1212 replied to DimSum's topic in Celebrity Cruises
They aren't. Even a year ago 95% of bookings were new vs. FCC redemptions. Last quarter they had $5.6 billion in deposits with $0.4 billion of that being unused FCC. That 0.4 billion figure has remained flat the past several quarters indicating a decent piece of that may go unused. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/finance/royal-caribbeans-q3-beats-robust-demand-company-launches-trifecta-program
