  1. Why are you trying to put Cruise Critic out of business?
  2. NCL will still bake the cost into your rate whether you eat or not. as does Holiday Inn..
  3. Many hotels, including IHG offer advance purchase rates, which are designed for the cheapest people. So Holiday Inn charges a gratuity after a stay? Which one?
  4. Holiday Inn doesn't charge a gratuity before your stay for breakfast. Or a service charge. Whichever you prefer.
  5. It has everything to do with the bottom line which seems to be the topic.
  6. Not everyone gets casino offers, which could be better.
  7. I don't know who said FREE at sea is of no value. But is isn't FREE.
  8. Cheap people pull them just the same, as if they were the same.
  9. This is my experience more often than not.
  10. It's nice that NCL works for you. It is clear that it doesn't work for everyone, or they would be number 1 instead of number 4 (MSC, Carnival, Royal, NCL...) Telling the truth is not bashing NCL, and Free At Sea is still a marketing gimmick and always has been.
  11. Probably. Anyway - next to each other. This was a Christmas cruise.
  12. Nope. Hopefully it will keep going until until dry dock next month.
  13. I have mentioned that as a possibility, but it seems Corp was leaving FLL for Princess and Miami for Carnival. Why compete more than necessary against each other? Like you say, they have 3 years.
  14. I'm not naive enough to make blanket statements like that. Or that NCL is a better deal. It depends and varies.
  15. Just one discussion of Free At Sea. On the NCL boards where one might expect to find such things. Looks like the price is baked in.
  16. And many can buy Carnival gift cards at 10% off. Don't think they offer discounted NCL gift cards. Not even sure you can get NCL gift cards these days.
  17. NCL is known for sometimes sticking customers with crappy air and they don't have a choice about it. With Carnival you can pick airlines and flights from their list. In my experience, NCL tends to drop fares just after final payment and tell people who booked at higher fares too bad. One time we had two adjoining balconies booked and just after final payment the fare dropped. NCL wouldn't budge on our price. We could have canceled, paid the penalty, rebooked and still saved money, but there was no guarantee we would be able to get two adjoining balconies again.
  18. The reefer is a real reefer. No freezer, though.
  19. One of the reasons I listed for selecting NCL is itinerary choice. They can be innovative - sometimes. I almost sailed with them to Antarctica, except for COVID, and NCL air is horrible. Carnival doesn't cruise there. I ended up going with Celebrity last year, but will go with Princess next time I did go on NCL from New Orleans to Guatemala, which Carnival doesn't do. Even went with NCL when they cruised from Houston.
  20. Enjoy NCL! Even if every NCL cruise was cheaper (not the case), price isn't everything.
  21. Nobody is pretending Carnival has a better deal for singles than NCL. Or Royal
  22. Opinions. A far cry from a few hundred dollars of your prior Alaska cruise. And not everyone has your discount or cruise certificate just like not everyone has a casino rate from Carnival. Nor has to have a drink packages.
