Search this forum for gluten free. There is a lot of discussion
Specifically the Symphony I didn't see. As I wrote, many said it depended on the ship. That's why I asked about this ship. I'll look again....

I did a research on gluten free food here. From what I'm reading, it depends on the ship as to how well your options maybe?
Have cruised a lot, but not GF. Has anyone sailed the Symphony gf and have suggestions for me? Talk to the mdr first day? Do all places have
gf options? I know Sorrentos does. Specific areas in the Windjammer?
Thanks!!

Thanks for all your replies! We are on the Symphony, so it's a VERY lg ship. But flying out later meant many hours of layovers!
One less thing I need to worry about! : )

I found 2 excursions. One through the cruise line going to Aix en Provence. That one is a walking guided tour. The other one is from a third party vendor not sure if I am allowed to mention who the company is but it is an excursion in marseille. This one is a small group tour with a guide.
These are some of the things we would see.
Explore the Palais Longchamp and learn about its historical significance
Tour the Old Port and hear about its transformation from your guide
Climb the to the basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde for ocean views
Knowing about these areas better then me Which one would you choose?
We're also trying to figure out this day. I try and avoid going thru the cruise lines as much as possible. Much more money and too many people. We're looking at another company. Are we allowed to say who? We're actually using them for 3 tours. Small group for much less money. If someone knows if we can mention them, I'd like to suggest them.
Good luck! We've been on so many cruises, but the Meditteranean cruise is new to us. So many places to see. Plus you really have to travel quite a ways to see the sites.
This is one stop that I want to get out and see the beautiful countryside and charming villages.

Our flight is at 11:10 out of Barcelona. I've read that it's recommended to have transportation booked ahead to avoid lines for a taxi. Which companies do you recommend?
Thanks!

Has anyone stayed at the H10 Montcada Boutique Hotel?

We have an 11:10 flight out of BCN. I would like to have a taxi service (driver) to take us to the airport. Hoping this would alleviate the wait for a taxi since we don't have a lot of time. We will be first off with our luggage. Not new to cruising, but am out of BCN.
Thoughts of services?
Thanks!

Good move. We moved our October Med cruise to 2021. Kept a great price 🙂

Kept holding out for our Mediterranean cruise August 9th. Dh said he didn't feel comfortable even IF it's not canceled. So went from the Allure which we've been
on before, to the Harmony which we haven't. I'm sad we're all having to cancel, but we have something to look forward to next year!
I think many are doing the L&S. I didn't get the area/cabin we like. Was lucky to find a decent one though. Only a couple left in our category. Will keep an eye out for cancelations and snatch up another cabin we like better. If not, that's ok. I feel blessed to even be able to cruise. I need to count my blessings more!

if your cruise has not been cancelled then pay to upgrade before shifting it.
Didn't think of that! Need to see the price difference. This is complicated. Still have to figure out the air/hotel. Probably just figure that out once it does cancel. thanks!

Was wondering the possibility if we can change the category with a L&S? All the bookings I'm looking at have only a few cabins left in my category and they're
connecting which I don't want. I'm very particular of our locations and currently have a great spot in Cat 4d. The ones I'm looking at are 2d. Can we pay the difference to "upgrade" our category? I'm coming to the realization that our cruise for Aug 9th out of Spain isn't going to happen : (
Thanks!

Absolutely brilliant, please don't give up we need to see how the rest of your cruise pans out ! Stay safe everyone
Agree! We need an update of your cruise [emoji16]

August on the Allure. Not canceling as of now. A day at a time...

We have a cruise on the Allure booked in August. Every time I see the price drop, I call our agent who then calls Royal. Each time they adjust it. Just called yesterday. Wasn’t on hold long at all.
May end up being canceled, but in case it’s not, want the lowest possible price. Now to decide to wait it out or cancel before final payment due.

Radiance of the Seas and Explorer have just cancelled their upcoming dry dock. Allure went into a 58 day $125 million dry dock today, Royal just announced the Allure Amped dry dock will be cut short by 30 days and only propulsion and maintenance issues will be performed. We are on a B2B on Allure in Oct/Nov. in the Med, some crew members report Allure will cancel Mediterranean sailings and head back home empty.
Where do we confirm this? We’re scheduled to sail August 9th out of Barcelona. So they think all Med cruises will be canceled? Wish we knew this for sure.

We have two cruises booked in the Med later this year, we have heard nothing. Also keep checking for price drops and so far nothing, prices are actually higher than we paid. Airfare has also not dropped.
We have one booked for August. Actually a few weeks back, it dropped quite a bit. Since then, has gone up a bit. I looked this am and looks like many canceled. This far out, no way am I canceling. Hopefully this will be under control in a few months, and start getting back to normal!

Just checked on ours in August...Mediterranean cruise. Went down 300.00 along with a 50.00 obc. Can't say who we went thru, but of all our years of cruising, first time we used them. Great deal cuz you also get a nice gc from their box store to use it. Mine is about 175.00
Plus using their cc, you get 3% back...good deal!

How easy is it to grab a taxi from the airport and more importantly, from the cruise port? I’m used to cruising in the Caribbean, and taxis are all lined up to go

Having been to Maui 12 times, yes, rent a car and enjoy this beautiful place on your own!! So much to see! I would for sure go on the other side, depending on where u dock. We’ve never cruised there, as we spend 2 weeks each yr. assuming you’ll dock by the airport. Lahaina, Ka’anapali, Kapalua..... all that area and drive is so nice with a wonderful beach in Ka’anapali. Feel free to ask about places to visit or ?

287 😢 ...The Allure... love that class! But it’s the Mediterranean this time!! Will be worth the wait... I keep telling myself to make myself feel better

When are you going? That hotel is right by the Via Laietana where huge protest marches are taking place. If you are going in the next couple of weeks, you could find 300,000 people standing outside your door. Otherwise, it is a very nice area and hotel.
Look at this map with the location of the hotel and the road closure of Via Laeitana happening right now.
Not til next summer. Thanks for the heads up tho!

I live in the UK, but have visited and stayed maybe 12 times, most recently twice in June.
3 days will be good to see the highlights
All of the Gaudi sights particularly Sagrada Familia pre book to go inside.
Placa Espanya then walk to Montjuic.
Pl. Catalunya the walk Las Ramblas (I like Ramblas less each time I visit).
Passieg de Gracia is beyond Pl Catalunya where Casa Mila and Casa Batllo are found.
Gothic area, Check the shows at the Palau de la Musica which is a few minutes walk from this hotel, but see it anyway for a visit. We saw a Grand Flamenco there. Placa Real, City Hall (Free on Sun morning).
Port Vell and the harbour, Olympic port area.
Churches, museums...Tripadvisor will give you tips.
You will not be short of things to see.
Use the Metro and bus network to make some journeys
Thank you for all your tips! Are u going on this sailing?
i like Rick steves books, but we have many ports on this cruise. I’ll do my research as I do with all of our cruises. I’m glad I added a few days to check Barcelona out prior to. It’s a long flight for just a weeks cruise.
we just returned recently from Ireland. Wonderful place to visit if u haven’t been! Need to return!!
Have a good weekend
