  1. I agree, the increased number of passports being renewed won't cause that much of a backup. No need to be an alarmist.

Just letting the OP know there could be a back log in case they aren't aware of it. Not being an alarmist. Nice judgement there. LMAO

  2. Sorry but I don't see a need to renew a passport 15 months in advance.

But I would do it say later this year to be on the safe side. :)

Either works. Just letting the OP know there could be a back log in case they aren't aware of it. Sorry you didn't "get that" out of my post. ;)

  3. What does this have to do with an Alaska cruise?

The simple answer to the OP is the passport is good for reentry to the USA until the day it expires.

    I

Many Alaskan cruises make a port stop in Canada. Some even embark/disembark in Canada.

  4. Makes the bed, cleans the bathroom, vacuums the carpet, throws out the garbage and replaces towels.

From time to time cleans balcony and windows.

At night turns down the bed and throws out the garbage and replaces towels.

    ^^^This

  5. I just read about services once a day from room stewards as well. We'll have to talk about that. Were not hard to please, but we do like ice all the time and I love the towel animals, no matter how many times we see them.

Our room was serviced twice a day and we didn't even have to fill out a form requesting it to happen.

  6. There are lots of posts saying it IS being enforced in Galveston and you will not be let in. I'd have a backup plan for something to do for a few hours just in case. We chose a checkin window online, and the earliest time was 12:30. Apparently this was piloted it Galveston and they are serious, now implementing in other ports.

You are replying to a thread that's a year old. ;)

  7. We did Paradise Cove - Deadman's Reef and had an awesome time. You can book it on your own and not go through Carnival. They pick you up and you can choose how long you want to stay. 2, 4 or 6 hours all for the same price and then they bring you back to the port.

Would do it again in a heartbeat.

  8. But I have read post were there were long wait times on certain ships with ATD. The hubby gets impatient and would rather eat at a buffet every night to avoid long dinner lines.

We did not have to wait more than 5 minutes to get a table with ATD. I would most certainly do it again.

  9. But cut the OP some slack because filthy cabins do happen.

Yes, they do happen. No doubt about it. HOWEVER, complaining about the filthy cabin to a message board instead of those who could have actually done something about the situation is assisting the problem, not fixing it.

  10. Sorry you had room issues. You should have spoken up. Carnival can't fix what they don't know about.

We were on the Fantasy's last cruise out of Charleston for our first cruise ever. While she's an old vessel and is showing her age, we did not have any issues like you mentioned. Our room was cleaned twice a day and we saw our steward everyday.

  11. Just sailed the Liberty 7-Feb-16 for the 3rd. time, and noticed these things that are now History.

    1) No more chocolate at night on your rack.

    2) No more items in your bathroom, just bar soap and the 2 liquids in the shower.

    3) Promenade deck Sushi at 5pm. is history.

    4) Maitre' D no longer comes to any table on your cruise.

    5) No more table cloths, or neatly folded napkins at diner. Table cloths are only formal nights now.

    6) Pass guest get together's, with drinks and hors d'oeuvres History! Was told only for Carnival Platinum members now.

Got off the Fantasy two weeks ago and had #5 at every dinner. The rest are no big deal to me.
