This.
There are better ways of getting exercise than lugging bottled water onto a cruise ship.
The OP is cruising with Carnival. They do not allow bottled water to be brought on board. OP is purchasing their bottled water.
-
I'm trying to avoid "their" water. That's what kills it for me...... So if I could get them to heat the bottled water that I have in the room that would solve my problem. But do you think that would be too much to ask?
Yes

There's hot water on Lido and you can get room service to bring you a carafe of hot water. Just make sure you tip.

I initially thought: why not just carry-on lemons? Then I remembered: how would you cut them? :)
With a knife. :D

Ours is as well!!! :D We leave Sunday and board Monday.
Have lots of fun!

I'm going the paradise for 5 nights, 3 of us, just wondering if it will cost $180 or $216.
thanks for any help.
$180. Three of us are going on a 5 night cruise and have prepaid our gratuities. They charged us $180.

Does anyone know the min age on the tour?

Good for you! Great attitude. I have 66 days to go and I can't wait. And I am pretty sure that I won't starve when I go.
Same here! :D

anything is possible, why not just take over driving the ship, while in the bridge, that would be way cooler
hee hee!

This was true for us also, since we used gift cards for our entire sail/sign account. I think they wait until later in the day when they actually print out the tickets to be delivered to your room that first night to charge to your account. I too was concerned about the timing but waited until much later in the afternoon to apply some of our gift cards to cover those expenses. We always have a charge card on file but it has never been charged before gift cards are used entirely. Have fun on the tour, we really enjoyed it and felt it was well worth the price!
Thank you for the info. So, I guess you know what our mission is. :D

I've read every response in this thread and they tell me exactly what I already knew. It's all subjective.
We are embarking on our very first cruise next week. And I'm going in with the thought that if I don't set my expectations too high, I won't be disappointed.
WOO HOO! 5 days!!!!!!! :D

We did this on the Pride last year. We went right to the excursion desk and they wrote our names on the list. Later on in the cruise, they charged our accounts.
Cool! Thanks! I'll do that and then fund our cards.
-
I know they say you can't take any pictures on this tour, but is it possible to sneak some in?!
Maybe at least just a shot while on the bridge?
I did some searching here and read that they wand you before the tour.
-
I understand that we need to go to the Excursion Desk upon entering the ship to get a chance at getting a spot. However, we are funding our S&S cards with cash. So, with that being said, do I go to Guest Services or the kiosk and fund our cards first or do they just put your name down on a list for the tour and take the funds the day of the tour?

Scroll down the main page and it is on the right hand side. It looks like 5 little hanging tags that says "DEALS".
Bingo! I check it often.

Water temps should run around 70 - 72 degrees. Not too bad near the shoreline, but it's been cool these days (55 earlier this week), so it can be cold getting out of the water. Luckily it should be warming up.
Thanks for the info. We will be there next week and it looks like it will warm up nicely.

Anyone know what the water temps run this time of year in Freeport?

Hmmm this is a tough one, going from an OV to a GS is a big big upgrade. But at $600 for a 5 night cruise that is a big price, tough to tell you what to do without knowing how much $600 really matters to you. But, I'd probably keep the OV and use the $600 on cheers and excursions. Now if the upgrade was offered for $300-400 it'd be a no brainer.
That was my thoughts as well. I was told what the suite sells for and the $600 is the difference between the two. So, not really getting any kind of discount it seems. Told her it was a little steep and if it were a bit lower I would jump on it.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. :)

Offered to switch us from an OV to a GS on the Fantasy (5 day cruise) for $600. This is our first ever cruise. My ears perked up when I heard GS, but doesn't strike me as it being a great deal. What say you?

Maybe...should work for family, assuming they have FB messenger.
But I was also thinking more for non-family, like the place we're boarding the dog.
If they have a FB account they can do the same.
We are boarding our dogs and will have contact through FB messaging.

what's the best way to tell people to reach you if there's an emergency at home?
Why not through Facebook Messenger? Seems logical to me.

Have been reading several reviews lately and there have been comments on new policy of only having your cabin serviced only once a day either in the morning or evening (you choose and let your room steward know which you time you prefer). We are cruising on the Carnival Pride B2B, 17 Jan - 7 Feb; we actually have no problem with once a day service but would we really like to have ice all of the time so would like it delivered in the evening as well as the morning. Anybody know what the "real" scoop is on this issue? Thanks for any info.....
You are not limited to either/or. Simply check off BOTH morning and evening and you will get both. :D

They lost a day to vomiting, and they have had to limit their activities since then due to weakness, fatigue and general discomfort. Plus, one of the people is scheduled to run a marathon immediately after the cruise and may not be able to do that now. I think Carnival should give them a new 7-day cruise with airfare (domestic) in the future (again, assuming the illness clearly resulted from food poisoning caused by Carnival). Does that sound reasonable?
It really doesn't matter what you think. This is between Carnival and your two sick relatives.
Your expectations are very high. Airfare? They were not sick for the flight. So, no airfare. A new 7 day cruise? They weren't sick for the whole cruise. So, no to a new 7 day cruise.

And had an awesome time for our first cruise ever!! They threw a Farewell Charleston party last night and passed out free drinks.
More to come later.
