Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @detroitlions - that explains it. We will continue to avoid high season 😁 The Lions we so close, weren't they?? Dan Campbell is a god in this town at the moment. Hoping they carry last season into next. It's gonna be hopping around here soon with the draft! Take care.
  2. @detroitlions I have heard so many people comment things like this and I always wonder when they are cruising? I say this because I have never noticed the Haven being overrun with kids (and believe me I would notice; not a fan of unruly kids - ruly ones are ok 🤣). We cruise almost exclusively in January with Carribbean itineraries. We also spend a lot of time on the sundeck and the casino so that might be why we don't notice them so much either. I'm just curious what time of year you cruise? PS - love your screen name - we live in the suburbs of Detroit and love our Lions! 🦁 So nice that they are finally giving us something to cheer for!
  3. You Tube. i never know what i can and can't say here 😁 And we do one cruise a year which is why I'm overly exicted for 2025 because we missed this year.
  4. @benel204 It sounds like you are in the cabin we are in in January. We didn't get to cruise this year so I splurged and spent an extra $360 to ugrade to the DOS (from a 2-bedroom); DH is going to be surprised. I did a lot of research on the wind issue and it seem the consensus is that the wind can get pretty wild when you're at sea, but because the balcony is so deep, you can sit back and be sheilded from it. If you search YT for NCL Escape and your cabin number, there's a couple videos of it. (I don't know if I'm allowed to post the actual link and I don't want to get chastized). The cabin looks incredible. I hope you have a wonderful cruise and come back and please post a review and pictures so I can live vicariously through you for the 7 months after you get back. 🤣 🛳️
  5. That's it. I'm cancelling my Haven cruise. I must have scantily clad men in palm fronds dammit. 🤣 Loving your review; you have a fantastic writing style. Have a fun second half of your cruise.
  6. As one of the organized, eager ones, I hope you have a great cruise!! 😁
  7. I never thought of doing this. Great idea! Thanks for the tip!
  8. Good to know that my over-planning might pay off some day. Digital versions of all of our ID's in DB as well. 🤪 At the risk of getting chastized for responding to a 4-month old post, thanks for the review. I'm over-planning for my cruise on the Escape in January. 😎
  9. This is my philosphy as well. Not sure why so many people feel the need to tell others how they should feel about something or what they should do. You do you and I'll do me and we'll all be happy. 😀
  10. Sorry - H3. Looks like all 4 are available on our sailing. I looked at several videos of the cabins. Just trying to figure out if I want to take a chance of not being able to use the Balcony. Thanks!!!
  11. Hi all – looking for some opinions from people who have cruised in both types of cabins on the Escape (or ships with similar layouts/cabins). I have the opportunity to upgrade from our current cabin, a 2-bedroom family villa (H6) to one of the Owner’s Suites (H3; Haven Owner’s Suite with Large Balcony, on either 17 or 18) for $360. Our cruise is not until next January (2025). It’s a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean, with 4 ports, leaving from Miami. We are both Platinum and it’s just the two of us cruising (my husband and I). We both enjoy sitting on balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning and a drink any other time – or the morning. We have been in a Haven 2-bedroom villa a couple of times (loved the extra space, i.e., a bathroom for my husband who spends ridiculous amounts of time in there doing lord knows what). Both times we were in a villa with a “large” balcony – the one that juts out in front of the window by the tub; the one we have booked for this cruise is the regular balcony. What I’ve learned from searching CC/NCL: the forward facing balconies can be extremely windy when in motion, to the point that they are unusable. There is no shower in the 2nd bathroom in the OS. You get 3 bottles of alcohol in the OS (I think). You get cans of pop (Michigander here) in the OS. I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing. My initial opinion was to upgrade to the OS as the balcony looks incredible and I think my husband would love it (as I’m sure would I). But I’ve read so many posts about the wind being a huge issue so I'm looking for people with experience for some insight. What I would like to know is, if you had the choice, which one would you do? I’m not asking what “I” should do, I’m looking for first-hand opinions of others. 😉 Thanks in advance to all!
  12. Any way to know where he'll be next January? We stalked him on our 1st cruise. He was fantastic!!
  13. I had to cancel my cruise this year and haven't been on Boards in a very long time. So no, I did not wait 5 months to respond. I just saw the post today and responded immediately. Thanks!
  14. Ding ding ding. We have a winner 🙂 Never fails.
