I can't answer about the Sky, but I have been on several Princess ships near the elevator lobby and have never had a noise problem from that area.

However on many ships I have had a noise problem from loud talking by people walking to/from the elevator area no matter how close or far my cabin was from the elevator lobby.

Thank you.  I’m not sure if they will do this as it is an upgrade.  I Am in a balcony in BD. It higher and more aft but I do like higher and aft.  I have looked and looked and it just doesn’t seem like a good location but thought I’d ask

If you do a dummy search for bookings on your cruise, you can see what other cabins in that category are open, and then you can ask to be switched to one of those.  I'd personally take it if it were an upgrade from an oceanview or obstructed view balcony or interior, but my preference would be to be slightly away from the entrance to the elevator lobby like 437 is, even if just one cabin more aft.

  3. I have been “upgraded” to cabin D437 on the Sky.  This is also identical to Royal and Regal.   By the looks of it I am right in front of the elevators.    Anyone have any knowledge of cabins in this area?   I’m not sure I should accept this.  Help please

  4. Trivia twice a day, plus maybe an evening trivia on some days. Depending on region, some other cruise staff activities such as crafts, jewelry making, napkin folding. Usually a game or two (or more) of golf and ring toss. Sometimes an organized pool volleyball or other pool games. Usually a martini tasting event, and sometimes others. The usual shopping things, and perhaps some port talks

Although you may not want to lay in the sun for hours, the Pacific has a nice promenade deck with loungers. Most of hubby's day is spent here with his Kindle. 6 of our 21 Princess cruises have been on this size ship (and because of a few shorter cruises on the other ship, probably about half of our time on Princess).

A few notes about this ship: Few children, and if you have children, there's not much of a kid's club. The dancers,(but not the singers) double as cruise staff, and they do quite a few things on the ship. You'll get to know everyone quickly - you'll see your waiters in the buffet (including head waiter sometimes), you'll see the officers around the ship (including the Captain) and have some nice conversations with them. It'll take you less than 5 minutes to walk from one end of the ship to another. There's some nice places that, some people never see - make sure to check out the library. They do show movies, but they're in the theater, not MUTS.

We're booked for the next two Christmases on her. If I could afford to book more, I would in a heartbeat.

  5. I have been on many Princess cruises but never on a small ship. I am considering a 15 day on PP. I am a little wary as I feel I may be bored. Yes I know it is what we make it, however as I like to lay out I can’t for hours on end and without MUTS etc it made me wonder. I am 60 and not one to go to bingo or shipbuilding etc. Do they have trivia, game shows like yes/ no etc. Please no response as it’s my favorite etc I’m looking for reasons to go or pick a different cruise. Also any patters would work too. Thanks

  6. Dear Bill:

Called Princess and got a representative that seemed to know and be informative. Basically it is what we know. They are having a longer time getting the glitches out of the program on the Regal and getting it going. Knowing that, they don't want to go through the disappointed customers for Royal that they do Regal (I translate that into OBC), they have taken the Royal off of the ***** program until things get worked out. For my March, 2018, cruise, the banner was taken off and she agreed by the way, but that doesn't mean that if things turn around and things start moving faster and smoother that the Royal won't be put back online to be ***** cruises. I.E., they have learned from the Regal fiasco. She even reiterated that initially Royal was supposed to go ***** online on January 19th, 2018, so my rep. wasn't denying anything.

    Pooh

Thanks Pooh. I am also on the royal in March. They offered me nothing even though it was supposed to be an ***** cruise. Did they just say sorry to you too? Here on cc it seems some are getting OBC

  7. I just called to ask about the ***** email we received; we were told it's a great thing yada, yada, yada. But, you're not apart of it. LOL....I was put through to a very sweet young woman who was going to put us on the waiting list. We would lose our mini-suite with extended balcony, etc. I said no, perhaps we could get the OBC I read about on CC? I punted and decided to ask, why not?

She said sure, let me get Guest Relations on the line and work on that! I was on hold for approximately 12 minutes waiting to hear the verdict.

It is $100 per passenger! Plus, they are giving it to our friends who are sailing with us and basically know nothing about the *****!!

All I can say is that Princess came through like a C-H-A-M-P in Customer Service!!

    What ship and when, please

  8. My God it is difficult conversing with you. Obviously I am not only talking about cruises. By waitIng until bills are due (taxes, utility bills, credit card bills, cruise fares - anything you are not paying interest on while waiting to pay) until near last minute, over years, yes thousands of dollars are saved. Takes no greater time or effort to pay bills close to the due date versus paying time early. If you can't understand that I feel really bad for you.

Wow you guys love to argue. Just to let you know your logic is flawed. If you pay your bills every month the last day they are due you always pay every 30 days. If you pay the day you get the bill you pay every 30 days. You will save 1 and only 1 month for the life of the bill and that's the 1st month you wait to pay until it is due. After that no matter what you pay every 30 days.

  9. Thank you so much for your post with current info--my wife and I are on the Equinox 4/17 for our very FIRST Cruise-we are counting the days. We are staying in a A1 stateroom, port-side on deck eleven. We haven't booked any excursions as we were pretty overwhelmed with all the options. We did purchase a premium frock package so we could order a beverage without Worrying about it as well we purchased unlimited i wifi. Your photos are very, very helpful. Thank your effort!

    Be Blessed and happy Easter

    Tim & Lori

If it's a 2017 cruise I hope you mis-typed the date as it leaves 4/14

  10. Robert...ah yes, a Gentleman's Seafaring Journal. How apt and I wish I had thought of that! Wait-I did!

Glad you were along for the ride and hope you stay to the end to see the beauty of the South Beach architectural gems and to see RCCL in 1986 from this old brochure before me and there will be pics of Norris on the ship.

Ah-but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now...

I will give some insights into life onboard the Song of Norway back in 86.

    Stay tuned!

    Norris

  11. We sail on April 22. We were taking the Equinox over as Portugal was on that itinerary, but Celebrity pulled the Equinox off for the Caribbean. I was disappointed not to get to do that itinerary as there were many new ports for me. Only two new ports for me on this itinerary but all of them will be new for my cousin so that will make it fun. I was on the Equinox in the Med in 2015. It was a lovely ship. I hear that the Reflection is even nicer. I did a TA on the RC Navigator in 2012. I absolutely loved it.

  12. This also happened to me in2 up2. What I found was I was signing in from the top right where you put your name and password. If you go to the page that asks name, reservation #, ship etc you will have no problem with the check in.
