  1. I'm so sorry this happened to you, but it is indeed possible to book a guarantee room for a specific suite category. In 2022, we booked a Sky Suite guarantee. I know that's the lowest suite but it wasn't a W it was a sky suite. So i think it possible to book a guarantee in. specific suite category - although why they'd do it for the very limited penthouse is beyond me.
  2. And if you booked out far enough, I imagine you'll lose the tips, and if in suite to a better suite the OBC, so be sure to factor that in.
  3. And people to start posting about how they didn't get the link, even though they got the last (I'll get mine tomorrow - happens every time). Should start soon.
  4. I'm Elite Plus. After I get this point I'll be 1001 away fron Zenith (if I don't get really angry and cancel anything it will happen next year sometime).
  5. I went to the website, and saw the one point in the history, but still not in the total. I did see some odd things in my upcoming cruises - my cruise in two weeks, is showing 12 points a night, which is what, we'd get if we hadn't received the Royal suite as a move up from a sky suite. We also have a Sky Suite in 2026, that's showing 12 points a night. I'm guessing we won't actually get that.
  6. I'd try again at the end of the day or tomorrow if the whopping 1 point hasn't posted. They usually show up for me much later in the day.
  7. On the days I expect points, if they don't show up by the end of the day, I log out and back in. Most of the time, they're there once I do that.
  8. Last seating. And sometimes it's 11:30 - 1:00 and sometimes 12:00-1:30. I've also seen different hours, based on things like short port stops, etc. But usually it's 1.5 hours for lunch, but on embarkation day they sometimes go later.
  9. Assuming availability, probably. That's up to the restaurant manager. We've done it once.
  10. When I was dealing with the South America trip, the price did go down more. When talking to them about something else, I asked about more OBC for that difference. The agent's comment was "well, if the price went up, we won't call you and ask for more money". And good thing, since that cruise was more the exception, since the price for our room is slightly higher with no tips or OBC.
  11. Yes. Lunch is 20.00 per person, and I've heard breakfast is 10.00
  12. I'm on this cruise as well, but not in a balcony (mini suite). For me, if I rebooked today, it would cost several hundred more, and I'd lose tips and a bunch of OBC. YMMV. I think one time, I got some extra OBC after final, and that was a very specific situation. We were in a Sky Suite on a South American/Antarctic itinerary, and the prices kept dropping (my guess was airfare had become ridiculous from North America). The price of a Celebrity Suite went to about 300.00 more than I paid for the Sky. So I paid 300.00 and moved us. The next day, it dropped to what we'd paid for the Sky Suite. I called and they gave us 300.00 refundable OBC. It was, I believe, because of the timing. It was also in 2019, so pre-pandemic. After the pandemic, pricing did become a little more rigid. And in 2022, I was in Maui at the "other side". We were back on the ship by noon, since there's not much there. I was looking forward to Maui, but we just rented a car for the first day in Hilo to go see Volcanos National Park since we'll now have time.
  13. We did that, until, midway through the validity (in 2010), mine got stolen. Now we're exactly offset - his expires in 2025, mine in 2030.
  14. No, but you never know if a great offer comes up, and you can't go. Or processing times will go back up. I guess my personal thinking is that when the passport gets to 6 months, it's a good idea to renew.
  15. I'd also recommend her renewing it ASAP after the cruise. DH's expires in January. In 2 weeks we head to Singapore for B2B2B, and get home May 6. On May 7, he's renewing. I was away with my sister February and one of his assignments was to prepare the application.
  16. Both. Your butler doesn't clean your room. And they do communicate, so if you're not sure who to ask, the message will get to the right person.
  17. That's sounds like what our Retreat host/room steward had on Apex. She was busy for sure, but very friendly. I told her she should consider applying to be a butler. I don't think she was interested though.
  18. Thanks. He does work very hard. While on the Beyond I ran into a butler of ours from the Summit (last dedicated one we had) who was an assistant waiter at the time. He said he's getting his butler job back mid march.
  19. Sorry, I thought you just said that the ratio was worse on S and E class, so I guess I didn't read it as addressing that the ratio will change. (And it is way worse on E, but I was asked not to post the actual number on cruise critic).
  20. That's for the head butler, when they roll out the regular "dedicated" butler, it will be less. That's too bad, in a way, since he told us he wanted to be a regular butler when they come. back. Tell him hello from Beth and Abby, if you can.
  21. No real idea, but if I had to guess, it was probably complaints and very inconsistant implementation of the team thing. I've done 3 so far with head butlers. One time the HB came in and introduced himself when we were dropping our carry ons, the others were within the 30 hours on board. In all cases, we got what we needed when we needed it, although food was delivered by a specific room service person (or one of 2). If everyone had our experience, the team thing might have worked out. But I heard of others who never did meet their head butler, so maybe inconsistency plays into it.
  22. On DH's first X cruise (my second as I sailed with my sister a month before) our toilet stopped working one night. We were in a sky suite, so I called the concierges and asked them to call GS. Apparently they did, because I noticed people working and when I came back from dinner, the toilet worked. For a little while. Then it stopped again. I called GS because concierges were long gone for the night. It was fixed for good the next morning, The next day, one of the concierges came over and gave us a small FCC as an apology.
