  1. We never left Bermuda earlier, we just went faster home than usual! The schedule was exactly the same as all the cruises I have done Boston-Bermuda. Bar Harbor is wonderful, but depending on how early you go in April it's going to be iffy. I did a girl's trip to Bar Harbor last year on April 8th, and while we had a fantastic time there weren't a lot of restaurants and shops open yet. The weather was actually pretty nice; definitely a jacket needed but certainly not gloves and scarves! But, I'm a Maine girl so what is nice for me may not be nice for everyone 🙂 We did a lot of walking around and enjoyed the quieter town.
  2. I would absolutely love this; I live for sea days!
  3. Me too! We saw The Beatles Experience on the Bliss in 2019 right before Covid hit, and I was so impressed that I have had the radio on my car tuned to Sirius Beatle's channel ever since. Have learned a lot that I never knew.
  4. Ha ha well I am always a day late and a dollar short 🙂 Why in the world was this in my feed? How does the old stuff even get resurrected?
  5. You don't just get the buffet; you get a full served breakfast.
  6. Beware though, if you have the drink package it is cheaper to drink it by the glass than get a bottle. My sister and I got suckered into this when we were on the Pearl this summer. We like the NCL East West red blend so we both ordered a glass (they charge you $2.40 for this which includes the tip). The waiter suggested we get a bottle, and not thinking we agreed. it was much more expensive than the $2.40 a glass we would have paid. Lesson learned.
  7. I never see anything that my TA has given me for perks on the NCL documentation; there should be cards in your room that show these benefits.
  8. Same with me. The last time I cruised in a non-suite and wanted dinner reservations made, the concierge told me, and I quote, "did you know you could do that yourself?"
  9. Any time we have missed a port we were refunded the port fees. Something about this seems wrong.
  10. Thank you. I called NCL but they couldn't answer my question. They told me to check when I got on board.
  11. The ban was in the dailies on the Pearl in August, and I didn't see any decorations on doors.
  12. In a separate question, if there are 4 sapphire members in a Haven villa, will we only get the 2 coupons, or can we ask for another set since there are 4 of us? We used to be able to, but not sure that's still accurate. Trying to decide how many meals we need to buy.
  13. They were gone from the Pearl in June and August when we sailed.
  14. I have sailed on the Dawn, Gem, Pearl, Spirit, and Bliss. The Dawn is my favorite ship in the fleet. We love the family suites on deck 12, and the pool area is great. We also think the setup of the atrium for entertainment is fantastic. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the larger ships, but the crew is second to none.
  15. To me? Absolutely not. The room is very small. Very small. The bed in the second bedroom isn't really a bed; it's more like a hard small sofa that folds down. I stayed in this room a few times by myself, and it was ok after I had the room steward put egg crates on the sofa. I don't remember if the room had a fold down bunk from the ceiling, but I know it did when I stayed in this room on the Pearl. I think it would be more comfortable to have someone on the couch in the living room than trying to put two adults in that walk-in closet they call a second bedroom. Good for children, horrible for adults. There are 3 TVs in the suite; one in each bedroom and one in the living room. Two bathrooms, which is nice.
  16. I have been in that second bedroom several times, both inside and outside of the haven. It's not a bad room if you have the steward pad the bed. It has its own bathroom, and is a nice place to get away to at the end of the day. That second bedroom is absolutely fine for a fare-paying adult. I dare say the Haven sees more adult occupancy than kids most of the year, due to the school calendar. We try to cruise as much as possible while school is in session; Very few if any kids.
  17. Who the heck is going to enforce that? On the smaller ships, there is one server in the Haven. He/she certainly doesn't have time to enforce "noise and disruptiveness." Limiting access to age is the easiest way to ensure the adults in the haven have one place to go without kids. NCL understands this, which is why that sundeck exists in the first place. They are certainly not going to stop catering to a segment of the population so that children have 100% access to all venues on the ship.
  18. Just because they don't cause harm to you or aren't "broken by a large amount" does not mean they aren't broken and it doesn't mean they don't affect others. You are absolutely wrong to say that breaking rules doesn't affect anybody; it certainly affects those who were promised an adult-only sundeck. You still haven't answered what you think the cruise line should do with all the others under 16 that decide because one person has someone up there against the rules means everyone else gets to as well. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think your child is a special case, but the rest need to stay away? How is NCL supposed to handle that? Why is the sundeck with the Haven pool not enough for you? I'm confused why that small patch of real estate is so important to you when you have the rest of the ship and the Haven at your disposal.
  19. We sailed in August and the only one that was still in place was the wine tasting. No dinner with the officers and no behind-the-scenes ship tour.
  20. If you don't, you will never get in. We were on the Bliss in February of 2020 and the Cavern Club was the hottest ticket in town. We got shut out a few nights because we didn't queue up early enough.
  21. No, the spirit of the rule is to create a space for 16+ to relax without children around. NCL will absolutely rigorously enforce the rule if someone reports the infraction. It has nothing to do with who's driving 60+ miles an hour; it's about giving adults one little space to themselves.
  22. But what is the fun in this? Part of the cruise planning fun for me is planning outfits, and the shoes and jewels to go with them. I take way more than I need, but so what? I like having choices, and I like having my creature comforts. I have never had a storage issue, but I cruise solo a lot 🙂
  23. I have looked at that cruise, but it's a bit too far away for me to be able to drive it. I also am not a big fan of the larger ships; I cruised the Bliss a few years ago and didn't care for it at all. Maybe if the price is right, though!
