Many have expressed disappoint to the changes occurring on Celebrity ships. We are looking for a replacement and looking for recommendations from those who have already jumped ship. We have booked with Holland America, but first one isn't until December. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
We have sailed mostly in Aqua, but on Edge class ships moved to Retreat because not a fan of the Infinite balcony or the noise in Blu. We actually prefer the Solstice class ship size, but also loved the Summit. Most of the S-class ships are in need of refreshment and not interested in sailing a worn out ship. We like the food, tremendous service and friendliness of staff on Celebrity. We don't want to pay an upcharge on a glass of Decoy when we purchased the Premium Beverage Package. We want the gratuities to be included when you book a package for upgraded perks.

Has anyone gotten a price for a private transport from Rotterdam cruise port to Amsterdam? With lots of luggage.

This is interesting as it reflects a change in direction for Celebrity toward a more family friendly approach. We booked on a 2025 Cruise specifically for Mardi Gras. We got this notice of a major change in itinerary based on this change in approach. Also noteworthy, we received the change notice with a date for cancellation but no firm info as to pricing adjustments or info on when this info would be available, which makes decision making quite challenging. This is our first experience with Celebrity and based on both this change in approach and the less than stellar handling of this matter, it will be our last. This is not really relevant to OP's general question, but it provides a data point for reflection.
WOW, I guess we now know the direction Celebrity plans to take. Looks like we will be jumping ship.

Here are some recent comparison threads. Search for “celebrity” within the thread title and you will find quite a few. Welcome to the Holland America board!
This has been great information.

Article written January 7, 2020 - not updated since then.
This is very outdated on the Celebrity side. I am surprised to see newer HA ships with "kids" programming and family rooms. I thought HA was senior citizens and no or very few children.

I looked through 25 pages and did not find a topic regarding a comparison to Celebrity. We are Elite + with Celebrity and looking at an itinerary in British Isles I prefer on Holland. Any incite from those who are familiar with both lines would be appreciated.
ship size, staterooms (we are usually Aqua or Retreat), food, beverage package, laundry, evening entertainment, spa

We are going to be sailing out of Canada with evening temps in the 50's and 40's. Anyone with experience tell me what temperature the dining rooms are?
I'm from FL so going to be cold, but SO may want short sleeve shirts.

READ THE DETAILS of your RISK FREE GUARANTEE very carefully. There were two that I know of. Cancel up to 24 hours before and cancel up to 14 days before. We have had both of these RISK FREE GUARANTEEs. If you have the 24 hour risk free guarantee, then if I am correct, you can cancel for any reason for a full credit voucher as long as you cancel a minimum of 24 hours before. You don't need cancellation insurance with this one time guarantee. Same with the 14 day - but the cancellation must be up to 14 days before.
As soon as you cross the threshold and are within 24 hours or within 14 days, then you lose the value of the guarantee and you must then rely on cancellation insurance that you purchased separately. AND that cancellation insurance must cover covid positive as a cancellation reason.
Only has 14 days prior if you have Viking Air. There is nothing about COVID. The "COVID Policies and Procedures" has a secondary testing which does say you can rebook or cancel in line with there policies. However it does not mention if you need to have their insurance.
Hoping it is not an issue.

Has anyone tested positive prior to boarding that did not have Insurance? We are under the one time Risk Free Guarantee and have our own insurance for on the trip. We are going out of Canada, so it is still necessary to test.

Is there detergent available or do you need to purchase?
Are there various kinds of detergent (due to allergies)?
Do you need quarters? Can you use your room card?
Is there an ironing board?

Wow just called and the only tables for two are at 9:00 at night, or you can book a table for 10. This is a real disappoint as we purchased a Penthouse Verandah in order to be able to schedule better dining and shore excursions.
This is our first Viking cruise as was really hoping for better shore side service.

According to My Journey restaurant reservations started at 8:00PM Pacific time on July 22, 2022. They are still not available this AM. Is this typical? Does the same thing happen with shore excursions? TiA

The Viking website has her departing Montreal for NY on 6th Sept. She then departs NY on 18th Sept returning to Montreal, arriving 30th Sept. She departs same day for Ft Lauderdale.
Missed that.

The Viking Star arrives in Montreal on 9/6/2022 and does not sail again until 9/30/2022. What would they be doing for 3 weeks?

We were in 4029 when we had the initial issues early on and those were specific to our room and I'm sure have since been fixed. The issues lately have been systemic and not related to our room.
We will be a floor and the opposite end of the ship. Hopefully they will get it fixed for you soon.

Can I ask which room you are in. We will be boarding the Star in September and hoping it is not the same room.
What ship are you jumping to?
