  1. Both have good websites where one can see the area. We went to Blue Bay as it is natural. But there is coral there as on most Curacao beaches.
  2. There are van taxis and regular taxis.
  3. We spent the morning at a beach at Blue Bay. Then we ate lunch on the ship and walked around Willemstad during the afternoon. Blue Bay has a good website.
  4. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Avila. They have a good website which has lots of info and a place to e-mail for costs.
  5. Eagle Beach is good and yes the sun is hot- we only stay for 3 or 4 hours.
  6. Cruisers can walk around Nassau and see the sites, eat at the British Colonial Hilton, or get a day pass for the Hilton which includes beach and pool time.
  7. Many cruisers enjoy the Hyatt. Do give us a review.
  8. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on 17th St. many times. We walked to the Embassy Suites for lunch on the patio near the pool. We also walked to shopping and other restaurants. (This without crossing the busy boulevard.) One might e-mail to check on renovations.
  9. 17th St. is the place to be. Embassy Suites and Hyatt Place are there. Check the websites for pictures.
  10. We went to Magen's Bay several times and enjoyed it. Check out the webites for the various beaches.
  11. We did an island tour on Martinique. It included St. Pierre and the volcano museum, a trip through the Rain Forest, time at Balata Gardens, and time at Balata Church. Balata Gardens were very nice.
  12. Thanks for the review. Where else did you go?
  13. We like the Melia as it has chairs near Cable Beach as well as chairs near the pools. Our suggestion is to look at the websites to compare beaches.
  14. We like the Melia for it's beach on Cable Beach. It also has pools overlooking the beach. See the website.
  15. CoCo Cay is a very nice island.
  16. We took a taxi in to town- walked around and went to the museum. Then we took another taxi back to the cruise port and got to see much of the small island. The taxi drivers talked about the history. Very inexpensive do it yourself tour!
  17. Our experience was similar to the above.
  18. We didn't go to CoCo Cay because of winds but spent the night in Nassau. (Had been there before.) The time in Nassau turned out to be better than expected. We had one afternoon to go to the Melia and the next day to go to the Blue Lagoon. We stayed on the ship at night.
  19. We took a taxi into town and walked around-went to the museum. Then we took another taxi back to the cruise port and saw most of the island.
  20. Willemstad is a good walking city- small and interesting. Some take the trolley first and then walk with a map after deciding where to go.
  21. We would check on the type of buses used too.
  22. We found a taxi in town easily. Do get the local phone number of a taxi company though.
  23. Also look into the Curacao Beach Express which we took through Holland America. We spent the morning there and the bus waited for us.
  24. We took Holland America and did the Curacao Beach Express to Blue Bay.
