Houston Bush Airport to Galveston Port Oct 10 2015
I am cruising on Oct 11 but we are arriving a day early. It seems that you can't return a rental car on Sunday there. There are only 2 of us and to do a limo it would be more cost effective to share a ride. Our flight lands at 2:45 on Saturday and we will be travelling back to the airport when we return on the 18th. Anyone having the same trouble? Or have a better idea
Howdy wanderlust613! Welcome to the Cruise Critic message board and the Gulf Coast Departures forum! Have you found the Roll Call thread for your ship and sail date? To find other Cruise Critic members sailing with you, please read the Sticky titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773. The post will tell you important information about our famous Cruise Critic Roll Call threads and how they are the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise. Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in the specific Roll Call thread for your cruise line, ship and sail date. Per the Sticky, the specific Roll Call thread for your cruise is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members may post personal ads about sharing tours, excursions, transportation, etc. with each other. There is a "captive audience" since you are all sailing together! Our Roll Call threads are not just a classified ad area for tour shares. First and foremost, the Roll Call threads are the place to get to know other Cruise Critic members sailing with you on your cruise. The best way to do this is to "share" some info about yourself. As time goes on you'll find yourself sharing lots of things -- about the cruise, about your friends and family, about your real life off the Roll Call. Kinda like... real life. The more you get to know one another, the more you share -- and the more you enjoy each others company. After you read the Sticky for the Roll Call information and have located the specific Roll Call thread for your ship and sail date, please read through the whole Roll Call thread to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Post an introductory message about yourself on the Roll Call thread using the Post Reply button at the top or bottom of the thread pages and your fellow Roll Call thread members will post welcoming replies to you on the thread. You will be forming your on-line relationship with the Cruise Critic members sailing with you with further posts and replies back and forth on the thread. Once you have gotten to know your fellow Roll Call thread members, you can then post any tour, excursion, transportation, etc. share request. You will receive a much better response to your share request if you take some time to read the entire Roll Call thread; get to know the other members and allow them to get to know YOU first. Who knows? One of your fellow Roll Call thread members may already have the same private tour, excursion, transportation share request in process that your group might want to join. That's the spirit of our Roll Calls! To post a reply or question to a specific message in any existing thread, click the Quote button appearing on the post you want to address. The Reply to Thread screen will open with the coded quote already in the text box with the gray frame. You type your message under the coded quote, then click the Submit Reply button. Your post will appear on the thread with the quoted text as well as your message as I have done with this reply to you. That way anyone reading the thread will know which particular post your message concerns. I sincerely hope this information will be helpful to a new member and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Where do you find your cruise bargains?
Is it a matter of trawling through each cruise line's website, or are there any better sites where a collection of the best deals can be found? Grand Celebration - 3 days

Howdy beshears! Your thread has been moved to the correct forum. It is now in the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line forum. Yes, Grand Celebration sailed as Carnival's Celebration before and now sails from Port of Palm Beach. You might want to click here http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/bahamas-paradise-cruise-line-cruises/cl/ for reviews. Also, please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on this forum with your key word or words. The feature will help narrow down the threads in the forum you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. But first, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=969846 for the Sticky titled How To Perform More Detailed and Specific Searches on the Boards. It will greatly help you when using the Search this Forum feature. Next, click the Search this Forum feature at the top of any forum to open the drop down menu. Type in your key word or words in the Sticky suggested format then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometime overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says, "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments with fewer or more precise key words. I sincerely hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Kat

Howdy palmsandpines! Try researching the Cabin Selection Tips forum at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=207. This will help the members so they can reply to you. In your case if you have to post a new inquiry in the Cabin Selection Tips forum, be sure to read the Sticky thread at the top of the first forum page titled Suggestion: Include SHIP and CABIN NUMBER in Subject Title. I sincerely hope all this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Kat

    Galveston at Christmas

Texas Tillie and Galveston Cruiser are correct about what the late December weather down here can be. The temperature depends on if any cool or cold fronts make it all the way down to us from up North. Click here http://www.weather.com/weather/monthly/l/USTX0499:1:US for the Monthy Average/Record Temperatures for Galveston Island. Scroll down the page a bit as it is under the current monthly forecast. For December, it says the average High is 64°F and the Average Low is 47°F. In my family, we still celebrate the Christmas Eve snow that Galveston Cruiser mentions with a marshmallow fight after the gift-giving each year! It was the only one we ever experienced together. Cabins to avoid article

Howdy again garywarry! Welcome back to the Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here forum again! This is the forum where members find the "How to ..." type of information for using Cruise Critic's software such as thread subscriptions, avatars, signatures, countdown clocks, etc. That's why there are soooo many Sticky threads on the first pages in this forum since soooo many of the same questions are asked over... and over again. Your thread on this forum was off-topic here and has been moved to the P&O Cruises ( UK ) forum at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=38. It is the same link Scrapnana gave you. All you needed to do was click the link in their post to go directly to the P&O Cruises ( UK ) forum. I sincerely hope this additional information will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message board and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Kat

Can I disembark after checkin in Galveston?

Yes you can, but please allow enough time to get back on board. All y'all WILL have to go back through the Security lines again. Also, be sure everyone has their SeaPass card with them. It is used to check their identity each time they board and leave the vessel. Kat

Still getting Virus Warnings on Criise Critics

In answer to your above post before you edited it, click the links I gave you above http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2229728 and http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2230236. Once each thread is open on your screen, scroll to the top you will see they are each on the Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here! forum at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163. My first post in the first link http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2229728 tells why the thread was moved. For more information about moved threads from/to any Cruise Critic message board forums, please read the Sticky titled Posts MOVED to where and why? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=23408616 on the Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here! forum. Please note the following from the 2nd link http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2230236 I mention above: Also the following from the same thread: And now, two of your fellow Cruise Critic members have given you additional information about the situation as I quoted above. Especially the information from crazyfrazee about a temporary fix you have already used as follows: "... Do Control-Alt-Delete to open task manager and shut down the browser and then just reopen..." As a lowly unpaid volunteer down here in Texas, I am "out of the loop" for the goings on in the New Jersey office. As mentioned in each of the thread links I gave you, the paid Staff works regular weekday business hours. We volunteer Hosts/Moderators are on the boards as our real lives permit. We are here trying to help "direct traffic" by following the Moderator Handbook given to us by the Community Manager. And as I mention in each of the threads, I directed you and others reading the thread to the correct e-mail address for the situation as follows: In the http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2230236 link, I also gave this important information:
  10. Yes there is. Please note the following from the Disclaimer section in the Guidelines: "... We do not guarantee the completeness of any information provided on our cruise boards. We cannot read through the thousands of messages we receive each day, but do make an effort to check out all the hyperlinked web sites. We cannot research each one for accuracy. That isn't why we're here. Staff members and our volunteers are here to provide you with an environment that is free from advertising and soliciting, free from harassment, vulgarity and disparaging statements, as well as providing you with a safe haven brought together by those sharing a mutual interest: cruising! We encourage you to utilize the reporting system built into the board system; you'll find a Report a Post icon located in the upper right hand corner of the posting. Use it! We will review the report and take appropriate action. On the other hand, we work very hard to ensure that all published reviews are coming from real people. We review every review submitted for publication to make sure that they meet our criteria and pass all of our fraud testing. Cruise Critic takes accusations of review fraud very seriously and remain vigilant in preventing fraudulent reviews from appearing on our site. If you are concerned with the authenticity of a particular published cruise review, e-mail us at community@cruisecritic.com. We'll research it and take appropriate action. Tell us the date, title of the review, and any other information that may help us with the particulars of your situation. We value your help and appreciate it when you alert us to a potentially fraudulent situation..." I hope this information will be helpful. Kat

    Travel Agent Questions
We are planning to book the 9/21/16 10 day PG trip . We did the same trip in 2013 - it was awesome, and last year we sailed Windstar 10 days Turkey and Greece on Star Pride, a huge disappointment. We booked both trips directly through the cruise line, then switched over tO AMEX to take advantage of platinum card perks. We have met many people who have talked about shipboard credit and other amenities and I have not the slightest clue how to find a TA who can provide decent credit. We don't expect the price of the trip to be discounted. Is there anyone out there can help ? Would you PM me ? Thanks so much, Meg
Howdy Meg!
