  1. We disembarked Grandeur on 1/24 and I feel the same! I was dreading it but they were wonderful. I didn't like the tours much, but the staff, at least, were fantastic.
  2. PS- We read about the noise issues before sailing and brought a white noise machine. STILL audible.
  3. I've mentioned in another thread, but on Grandeur 2 weeks ago in 960 (Concierge D) we could hear our neighbor's phone ring, loud enough to wake me up. (The suite phone, not a cell.) This is UNACCEPTABLE.
  4. Interesting! We were in 960 but our phone situation WAS definitely the phone ringing next door. Glad you had a "false alarm!"
  5. Yes, of course- sorry, it was a joke but didn't come through 😉
  6. I would gladly trade in the Encyclopaedia Britannica sized cruise brochure that awaited me when I got home from Grandeur last week, just in order to have the good cherries in my drinks...
  7. I have been on a ship (Celebrity) where the extra rolls of tp were removed on last evening. Now that is insulting AND crazy- who wants scratchy ship tp?🧻
  8. I hope you are feeling better from your illness! we just disembarked so it’s a moot point now but it was the cabin phone, not cell 🙂
  9. I decided to sleep with my white noise machine and ear plugs this time. Still awakened by neighbors phone ringing. I am not sure what else I could do to avoid this but it really sucks and has impacted the enjoyment of our vacation.
  10. Seriously?! That’s awful. I am sorry. we haven’t had that whistling but maybe it would be nice to drown out the neighbors 😁
  11. Update on cabin soundproofing- I was just awakened by a ringing stateroom phone. My neighbor’s. Not happy. The tone is lovely but if the walls are so thin it wakes me up when someone ELSE’S phone rings… this is a problem! on the upside Chartreuse last night was excellent and the comedian was actually pretty good.
  12. The chair hog situation is absurd here as well, but of course, this is not unique to this ship. I’m disappointed that we don’t have a lounger in our concierge suite. I had thought based on splendor that that is something we would have. I’m actually taking a bath right now because I can’t find anywhere at the pool to sit in the shade. I’m happy we have a bathtub, but frankly, I could do that for free at home. Not uncommon to walk by and find, an entire row of window side loungers occupied by only books and sunglasses.
  13. I am also on board right now, and I agree with both of these assessments. I would probably request the sound improving a little more strongly than you mentioned here- we can hear the conversations and the television of the couples in both suites next to us both sides, and have experienced early-morning awakening with apparent cleaning of the public areas above us. although we have not overall been that pleased with the excursions, we had been led to believe that the destination services team was awful. We found them easy to deal with, pleasant, and truthful/realistic about what to expect from the various excursions.
  14. I don’t know if new Crystal still offers this, but on old Crystal we experienced getting to bring a friend on board in San Francisco when we were docked there for two or three days. She had dinner with us and it was really a lovely experience for everyone involved. I think the charge was around $90 which really was reasonable considering the circumstances, wine, cocktails, dinner, blah, blah blah. The reservations, for this had to be made quite some time in advance and I needed to provide information about her such as name, I think date of birth and maybe even passport information?
  15. I agree with everything you said, especially the last part. As I alluded to in my prior post, I am allergic to dogs. I am fine with tolerating this for people who have legitimate needs (not all of which are perhaps immediately obvious of course) but having to experience this because someone else is selfish and thinks the rules don’t apply to them and have gotten a fake letter and vest REALLY annoys me.
  16. Because some of us start sneezing, having eye watering, and runny noses.
  17. FWIW we were on Grandeur in LA in about 15-20 minutes from arriving at port. Super fast and excellent!
  18. Nice to hear they have been handling COVID well. Punishing people who report COVID like sx to medical is not a way to encourage truthfulness. This was a big problem on Celebrity when we sailed them in June 2022. (No one in our group had COVID but the way it was being handled onboard would make most sensical people reluctant to seek medical advice.) I had to take my tween daughter to the pediatrician a few months ago for some vague symptoms and despite my report of 2x negative COVID antigen tests at home in the 24 hours prior to our visit they tested her again, which cost $55, so $38 seems like a relative bargain lol. (It was negative.) I travel with 2 COVID tests for each member of my family, plus Paxlovid (obtained in US before they started charging a bazillion dollars for it) as well as Tamiflu just in case... and an entire "as needed" bag of probably another 15 medications. You just never know.
  19. We are of mixed opinions anymore about the TA we have been using for more than a decade, BUT... yes, the approximately 8% rebate check we get on lines like Regent and Azamara (we have also booked cruises on other lines with them like Celebrity and Silversea- definitely no rebate on X, can't remember on SS frankly) is a nice bonus. We don't need with our booking- we didn't take the pre cruise stay, for instance, and source our own air (control freak.) When we get insurance we do it independently. So, honestly they just made the booking for me, I dealt directly with Regent on the few minor questions I had (like cancelling a cooking class) and then I'll get a check in the mail. Win win.
  20. Isn't there a Regent person who follows some of these boards? Mike, or something like that? I'd love to know his thoughts on this. I am really disappointed to hear I'm getting on the newest member of "The World's Most Luxurious Fleet" and shouldn't anticipate a reasonably good educational experience about the highlight of the trip. (My first and perhaps only PC cruise?)
  21. Helpful to read these comments- thank you for sharing. We board tomorrow and hope they will rectify the canal enrichment situation!
  22. Looking forward to our first Regent cruise in just one week. Especially excited about indulging in delicious sounding meals and then burning all those extra calories back off! Searching the forum for "pickleball" doesn't yield much although it seems that equipment is provided. Does anyone have any more info? Also interested in learning more about the fitness classes offered. Would like to ensure I bring appropriate attire for any classes that might be available. On a given week I usually participate in spin, yoga, pilates reformer, and weightlifting. Hoping to continue with at least some of this while onboard especially since we have a number of sea days.
  23. This is disappointing to hear. I remember some months ago reading about their proactive stance on Splendor and thought--- FINALLY!
