  1. Anyone currently on the Gem or if you were on the sailing over Christmas, what shows were available on the ship? On the transatlantic there was only one show offered per evening and it was Divos and Divas with B12, Dance Fever with Katia and Zenia, Spencer Robson, NO SHOW, Blazing Boots, Paul Suha Violin Party, Chernov Brothers Circus, Dance Fever repeat, Spencer Robson repeat, Paul Suha repeat, Yuri and Nato acrobatic duo, Jess Mullock Night at the West End, Chernov Brothers repeat, Variety Show with some of the previous acts. Was there anything different offered? Did they have more than one show per night? The rate for the Gem cruises in January and February out of New York are extremely reasonable. However, I would like to know if they will be offering Blazing Boots or some other production show before I will even consider cruising on the Gem again. I am really hoping that since it just came out of dry dock that new acts have joined the ship.
  2. I just got off the gem from the TA. I was on the Gem in May and it was a lovely ship. The quality of the dry dock work especially on the tile in the garden cafe makes me want to cry. I don’t know if the work was rushed or just cheap. Aside from the posted comments being accurate, I want to mention escargot in Bistro is scallops now. One show per night at 8pm or 7:30pm and no late show means every dinner is rushed. Also, service is slow but I found the service crew in restaurants to be very nice. They are at the mercy of the cooks. I always wear a mask. I saw a lot more people wearing masks at the end of the cruise than at the beginning. I didn’t have hot water in my stateroom for 4 hours one morning. Water pressure was very low. Internet was pretty minimal with WhatsApp being blocked for 4 days. Food was just ok. Please note that the Gem 11 day cruise I took in May was amazing. I am really hoping this is not a new NCL policy on the one show per night and the lobster ravioli becoming shrimp, escargot becoming scallops. Coffee maker in the room was still a thing, but decaf pods only. They didn’t have normal pods. I bought my own in port in Spain. This particular cruise was not up to par. Feel free to ask me specific questions but between this post and the last, most of the details are covered.
