  1. Yes, you are confused. Each adult is allowed one corkage-free bottle at embarkation only, for in-room consumption only. After that every bottle is subject to the $18 fee, and you can drink them anywhere on the ship.

One exception is that each adult may buy a bottle at a winery on a HAL excursion and not have to pay the fee, but that bottle is for in-room consumption.

Glasses of wine from any free bottles may not be taken to the dining room or anywhere else ... although enforcement of that is unlikely.

Very helpful.. One bottle per person at embarkation for in room consumption only. Thanks:)

  2. Interesting that such a yes-no issue generates so many comments. In my mind, it is simple, want to watch - turn it on, don't want to watch - turn it off. Simple and completely under your control in your cabin. So many things are not that simple nor under your control (ex: smoking on neighbors veranda, chair hogs, ...)

    Absolutely!

Finding drama and making it a debate topic for no reason at all, IMHO:)

  3. We generally don't turn on the TV unless to watch the bow camera or weather/position while getting ready. Don't know why but I like the graphic of seeing where we are.

The one time I watched a movie was my first cruise, a New England cruise, and I was seasick. A combo of high seas and the patch behind my ear not working. Dh went to have fun with the group we were with and I stayed back while my wonderful steward kept checking in on me. The movie I found to watch...Titanic.

I've heard people with interior cabins leave it on, sound muted so they have a

'window' sounds like a smart idea!;);)

  4. My thoughts exactly.....why pay $100 a day for an alcove that looks over the grass lawn....I can do that in my backyard...I LOVE the Aft cabins and if this is your first one, prepare to be hooked! :D

Oh goody! My friends who are the experienced cruisers advised us and so we have adjacent cabins on the 8th deck facing Aft; they said they just enjoy their beautiful view on those insane at sea days on their balcony. :D

  5. Oh.....that's a deal breaker for me. My favorite cabin is the aft cabin....I can sit and look at the wake for hours and everything else on the planet just melts away.

Alcove issue? I have a question.. we are in Aft cabins and have been told the balcony is quite nice.. the alcoves are lovely but if you book more than a single day, wouldn't it make more sense to just upgrade to a room with a bigger balcony? I must be missing something...

  6. The first experience, I didn't care for it. However, after the suggestion to take 3 of the foldable, fabric cubes (used in bookshelves, etc,) we LOVED it the last time. I bought 6 of the least expensive cubes (as they are the lightest weight), 3 for each side. I chose 3 different colors for each side which made it easier to know which to pull down. As I folded clothes to pack, I folded them so that once in the stateroom they could go directly into the cubes. On DH's side, gym shorts, socks and casual T's in one, another held Bermudas while the 3rd held polo shirts. On my side they held casual knit tops, work-out clothes, etc with one set aside aor small clutch for nights, crushable hats, etc. even at 5'3", I could reach all using the little loop on the front of the cube.

Can you come and help me organize my closet?:D

  7. I discovered the same thing.

My mom took the family on a cruise in August, which was my first time on Celebrity. In checking CC for Summit topics, I noticed a lot of posts about chair hogs. I met my mom on deck on one of the sea days and made a comment about how all the chairs were taken. They all had towels neatly folded on the backs of the chairs. She said that the deck crew come out every morning and do that for the benefit of the passengers.

It's a really nice little perk, but I wondered how much that contributed to people thinking that all the chairs were already taken.

That's good to know.. its a shame that its been so misunderstood by soo many folks. Now.. about those kids in Adult only areas..:mad:

Its a good start. Not very complete but with an over easy fried egg.. its yummy! Think "Fried Egg over grits" for you Southerners!. Then a spicy Chinese sausage for the savory addition and you can't beat it. :D

  9. Celebrity was putting out cards in May, reminding pax of no saving seats, and that their items could be removed. I'm not sure how well it was enforced, but at least they were making an effort!

Love it! Hope they all do this but in the meantime... if a towel has been w/o an owner for over an hour, I just take the chair (assuming there are no others) what is the towel owner suppose to do? Throw a tantrum? I mean... sheesh

  10. I did this about 6 years ago when I was 50 with my elderly mother and just to verify what someone said.. "slow pace"

if you are no good at self entertaining (i.e. enjoying history, scenery, sightseeing at every port) then these cruises are not for you. The nearly 3-1 ratio was great and the food was terrific. Never felt crowded or rushed although the ship was full and every cabin is terrific. 1st class coaches to take you to the sites along with great guides. But... no real entertainment at night, expensive cocktails, no real movies, no casino, no rock wall. Its certainly not a cruise for everyone but for the right cruiser.. its perfect@;)

  11. I read several threads from RCCL passengers using their iPad to stream Netflix by using an Apple Digital AV Adapter. The Adapter has a lightning connector on one end and a HDMI adapter on the other.

Yeah, I read the same about live netflix streaming not working on the ship network. Not like at home with your apple TV or Chromecast. Definately easier than cable connecting via HDML but will be set for both.

Don't cha love the persons who feel superior enough that they poo poo anothers use of their computer/internet on a cruise ship ? The most favorite thing for us is we sit on the deck, with a cocktail, read the news, our favorite blogs (like this one) and comment on them.. :D:D
