  1. I will stop laughing at this sometime today, honest. George
  2. Three years ago this morning our Canada/New England trip came to an end with a foggy morning sail-in and a flight out of Newark. It was our only cruise outside of HAL (so far), and we had 15 wonderful days. Thanks again, bennybear, for starting this thread and leading us down memory lane. Have a great day! Lori & George
  3. Amen. Well done, Millie. And well done, Roy. Thank you.
  4. Absolutely! So sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing those memories.
  5. In 2017 we visited Newport, RI and did the tour of the Vanderbilt "cottages". It never ceases to amaze what can be accomplished when one has more money than they could ever spend and aren't afraid to try. Marble House The entry gates weigh ten tons... The Breakers Lori & George
  6. Good morning, and thanks for the Daily. We are trying to figure out the weather here... the high for today is 84, the low tonight is 32, and the high for tomorrow is 47. That's different enough to confuse us 😵 Three years ago we sailed into Newport, RI and had this sunrise to greet us Hope everyone has a safe, wonderful day! Lori & George
  7. Three years ago we had a port stop in Rockland, Maine. We travelled to Camden where we boarded a two-masted schooner for a sailing excursion. We could not have asked for better weather. Camden from atop Mt. Battie Sailing onboard the Surprise The Curtis Island lighthouse from the Surprise On sailing out from Rockland we passed the Rockland breakwater lighthouse And we ended our day with a lovely Maine sunset It was a day well spent and very much enjoyed. Please, enjoy your day! Lori & George
  8. Good morning. It is a crisp fall morning here in Kansas. Temps in the 40's at nearly noon we are not used to yet. It was 90 not so many days ago, and our reflexes aren't what they used to be 🤔 Need to get out and work on the leaves before they get knee deep. Welcome back to Denise! Thought we'd share this from our visit to Maine this day in 2017. Sunset over Mt. Desert Island. Hope everyone has a safe, wonderful day! Lori & George
  9. Good morning. Three years ago we sailed into Mt. Desert Narrows for a visit to Acadia National Park. It was a lovely fall day and the weather (with the slight exception of the clouds and cold wind that blew in while we were on Cadillac Mountain) was perfect. We enjoyed our day, and we hope to drive there someday to spend more time exploring. Jordan Pond is such a lovely spot. Thanks again to everyone for the beautiful pictures and all of your memories that are being shared. We have enjoyed this thread. Have a great day! Lori & George
  10. In 2017 we were in Boston. We did a city tour, saw the North Bridge and Lexington Commons, stopped at the Old North Church and Copley Square, and had lunch at Quincy Market. The city lights were beautiful as we sailed out that evening. We had a fun, educational day on our first visit to Boston. Lori & George
  11. Good morning. On this morning we took an excursion from Portland, ME to ride the cog railway up Mt Washington, New Hampshire. The weather was perfect at the bottom, and clear, cold, and quite frosted at the observatory on the summit. It was a very enjoyable day and the views were fantastic. Lori & George
  12. Good morning, and thanks for the Daily. It's good to see so many positives this morning. We thank the Almighty for safe travels, negative tests, and ask for relief where it is needed. Sunrise offshore of Portland, ME three years ago. Please stay safe and healthy and hope everyone has a great day! Lori & George
  13. On this day we visited Halifax, Nova Scotia. The day started out cool with a low lying intermittent layer of fog, but warmed with the sun and we had a lovely day. We took the Harbourwalk along the waterfront and visited the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. One of the highlights of the visit for Lori was meeting Merlin. We had looked in on his webcam off and on for months. The museum has an extensive display on the Titanic that includes several artifacts from the ship. But the section relative to the Halifax explosion of 1917 was the most poignant. The room containing the Halifax Explosion Memorial Quilt and panels listing the names of the deceased was especially moving. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk along the waterfront. There were many interesting memorials, businesses, and other sights to experience. This picture of the Zuiderdam shows either someone's sense of humor with the light posts, or else we don't want to be in Halifax when the wind blows.... We would love to visit Halifax again. Lori & George .
  14. I generally find it difficult to be bored by someone so observant. Very interesting. Thank you. George
  15. Our day in Sydney, Nova Scotia was a down day for us. We passed the time relaxing and watching Zuiderdam's tenders shuttle back and forth, and then led the way out that evening. Lori & George
  16. Thank you for sharing these, Sharon. Your picture quality is fine. Lori
  17. Our deepest condolences. May God Bless all those who loved her. Lori & George
  18. Thanks for the headache 😲😵🤪 George
  19. Lovely. It's the little things that keep life from getting dull. 😒 Thanks for the info.
  20. Looks like you got Cadillac Mountain on a nice day. When we were there it was chilly and clear. But then, rather suddenly, a marine layer blew in at about 50 mph. You could literally feel the clouds blowing past and the wind was so cold it hurt. I was silly enough to leave my jacket when I walked out to take pictures, and I regretted it by the time I got back where it was warm, lol. Nice pics. I would love to visit Pont du Gard. Thanks for sharing. George
  21. Good morning. Has it really been 3 years since we sailed into Corner Brook for a most enjoyable day in beautiful Newfoundland? Seems like yesterday... I was enjoying all of the displays at the Gros Morne visitor's center, when I turned and found Lori cuddling up to one of the locals......gotta watch her sometimes. Have a great day! Lori & George
