  1. https://www.passporthealthusa.com/vaccinations/yellow-fever/ Yellow fever is found in various parts of South America and Africa. Travelers to these regions are advised to receive a yellow fever vaccination before travel to the regions. But, some countries require proof of vaccination for entry or proof if arriving from a country with the virus. It appears to be based on where you are coming from. If you are US based you may also check the State Department website as a resource.
  2. French press AND salmon - I am sooooo jealous. The swill on the Sun was so bad I gave up and switched to tea. Looking forward to testing out the coffee on the Breakaway. @cruiseny4life @PatJim - I have plans to eventually book the Haven and when I do I fear my butler will talk about my coffee habit(s) for the rest of his life. I like my coffee strong and I had a suite on the Jewel for my first cruise and had no idea I could/should have asked for that. I did enjoy the suite breakfast in Moderno and I always indulged there, but in my room - sigh....you don't know what you don't know. Cruise Critic is so helpful for things like this.
  3. Hi Mike - ummm...to my knowledge there was no vaccination requirement for Yellow Fever and there was no mention of it by NCL in Miami or for any of the excursions. Enjoy your trip! I did a quick Google search and found that Columbia, Guatemala and Nicaragua currently require the vaccination only when coming from a region with Yellow Fever so perhaps that is why I did not experience that question.
  4. I do the same. It's a nice way to have that info if you run out of time before debark.
  5. I am going to bandwagon and give two thumbs up for the Epic. It's a really nice space. I'll be giving the Breakaway a whirl next week, but here's my rankings so far: EPIC Pearl Jewel Getaway Bliss SUN (OMG - It's the first time I wanted my money back - the whole time I was thinking people pay for this?!?)
  6. I love this board - you guys crack me up, so entertaining while allowing me to learn something once in a while. Back to the subject at hand. I've only used a TA once and it was not for a cruise, but the experience was so horrible I have sworn off of them. Also checked all my upcoming cruises and Shareholder Credit is still right where I left it. 🤞
  7. I primarily travel solo and 90% of the time I prefer eating alone. I know it varies, but I have never even been asked if I wanted to share, and I've never had it be an issue securing a solo table whether it be main dining room or one of the specialty restaurants.
  8. Nevermind - I found it.. Thanks for the heads up - potentially awesome!
  9. This is a new one for me. I checked BofA's site and I hope I'm not missing it, but I don't see anything. Where can I find more info on this?
  10. Forgive him. Even I get off track when the winnings start with a "B".😁
  11. I have a bid in for my upcoming cruise on November 2nd. I purchased an OV and spent 30K to move up to a balcony. Fingers crossed!
  12. I was on the Sun for a 20-day Panama Canal sailing from Miami to Seattle. I am also booked for an Alaskan-10 day in May 2024. I found the ship to be very well cared for with a top notch staff. Yes, it is an older ship, but well cared for and I enjoyed my time on her.
  13. I haven't had the card as long as some (7 years), but I keep a close eye on all credit card offers and I have not seen anything like that. I would hope something like that would be posted as many of us would probably take advantage of that type of offer.
  14. I sailed on the Bliss to Mexico, Feb/2022. I prefer the Jewel class ships, but the Bliss is beautiful. My only complaint was booking during Spring Break. It was post Covid and cabin fever had kicked in - I thought how bad can it be? - lesson learned.
  15. Thanks for posting as a refresher. I did not realize fresh flowers had been added.
  16. I really hope this is a joke. If it was - hilarious. If not, hilarious and yet sad at the same time. 😁
  17. Agreed. I can see the value potential. Definitely not on my recent cruise on the Sun, but I will be checking for options on the Breakaway.
  18. I can chime in for the Getaway. I had to work from the ship and VPN is required me too. As for working during vacation, sometimes things just happen and work has to intrude. The Getaway was my first stint at working while cruising and the speed surprised me.
  19. I do the same. I work in IT so paranoia is the order of the day. 2 is 1 and 1 is NONE and therefore 3 must be the new 2. Seems like I recall a few threads discussing card issues - let me see if I can utilize the absolutely awesome search features available here on CC.
  20. I was on the Sun in April. I did the free tour. The tour was conducted by the CruiseNext staff. It consisted of laundry area, galley, and theater. It is my understanding the paid version is a little more thorough even though the bridge is still off limits. My opinion is that I would *not* pay for the experience. The only reason I went on the free one is because I like to do it once per ship in the hopes that I will see something awesome in the process. I have yet to be wowed - I keep hoping...
  21. Self-professed coffee snob here (that loves Coffee-Mate; is that a bad thing?!?)...do yourself a favor and bring your own. I agree with the assessment for the brewed coffee - yuck! And Starbucks also tastes burnt to me and is very overpriced. It was so bad during my last cruise on the Sun I quit wasting my Coffee-Mate and just switched to tea about halfway through. Good luck!
  22. You may want to contact NCL directly to see how much it would be to do a paid upgrade vs. using 30K points.
  23. Just reporting back - I had heard nothing. I had been checking my account daily so I gave them a call today and I was told 7-10 days before I could expect them to reappear. Not sure what made me refresh, but the points were back, but of course I had already been disconnected. A quick call back and I had my desired cabin.
  24. I was so hoping you would try it - with the aid of PCC/NCL. Could be handy information for the future. I definitely understand not being willing to risk losing a certificate no matter which type
