  1. FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA Because I am anal......before I cruise I like to check the port schedules for the various places where we are going so I can see what other ships will be there. Checked my Celebrity Equinox and the port schedules listed on cruisemapper.com and cruisetimetables.com show the same schedule for the Equinox. However, our itinerary is Ft. Lauderdale-Antigua-St Lucia-Barbados-Martinique-Ft Lauderdale. Do I believe Celebrity or the port schedules? Never seen such a difference between the cruise line and port schedules. Below is information on our cruise from cruisemapper.com and cruisetimetables.com 24 Apr 16:00 Departing from Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades, Florida hotels 27 Apr 09:00 - 18:00 Basseterre St Kitts, Port Zante 28 Apr 08:00 - 18:00 Fort-de-France, Martinique 29 Apr 08:00 - 18:00 Bridgetown, Barbados 30 Apr 07:00 - 17:00 Castries, St Lucia Island 01 May 07:00 - 16:00 St Johns Antigua, RCI Royal Beach Club 04 May 07:00 Arriving in Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades, Florida Cruise Itinerary: Fort Lauderdale, Florida (24 Apr d1600); Basseterre, St. Kitts (27 Apr 0900-1800); Fort de France, Martinique (28 Apr 0800-1800); Bridgetown, Barbados (29 Apr 0800-1800); Castries, St Lucia (30 Apr 0700-1700); St Johns, Antigua (01 May 0700-1600); Fort Lauderdale, Florida (04 May a0700)
  2. you can look on your celebrity app - it should have the dress code for the particular night listed at around 5pm
  3. not necessarily......we booked a tour and had to split up into 2 vans - not what we expected but we made the best of it. But each group had somewhat different experiences due to driver/tour guide.
  4. We are booked on this tour the end of April - there are 8 of us. Questions: did the van accommodate larger groups? where did they pick you up? did you need extra money and, if so, UD dollars or credit cards? Thanks
  5. Our last cruise in 2020 was the Golden Girls fan club cruise also - it was great seeing all the costumes and the people were very nice. They had their own events and at times, certain venues were closed. But it was not a big deal. Chic night was a hoot - lots of caftans and other outfits. I was not a huge fan, but I do remember watching the show. It was a memorable cruise right before the shutdown - enjoy
  6. We will be a group of 8 on the Equinox in April. We will be having most dinners in the main dining room and have already emailed (and received confirmation) for booking a table of 8 for at least the first night. We would like to book a specialty restaurant to celebrate someone's birthday. Is there an email for specialty dining that may be able to help? I know we can wait until we board, but if possible, would like to arrange this beforehand, just in case. Thanks
  7. A lot of people are coming back from cruises with various viruses, as it has always been. Covid is just the newest one to be added to list - norovirus, flu, etc. Lots of people in an enclosed space leads to a greater chance of getting sick. People not taking basic precautions (washing, covering face when coughing, staying away when feeling sick) also add to the possibility of getting sick. We came home from our cruise last May with Covid; friends came down with it after a Viking cruise; other friends came down with it after a week at Sandals in Jamaica. Thankfully, we are all vaccinated and boosted (I also get a flu shot annually) and our symptoms were mild-moderate. This isn't going away. Travel safely and enjoy!
  8. my past 2 upgrade bids were denied on day 2 of sailing!!!!! Lol - they knew that I wouldn't change my cabin once I unpacked.
  9. yes - smaller martinis with the classic drink package
  10. Going on Spirit (9/2025), Honolulu to Vancouver. Would like to arrive in Honolulu 3 days before cruise and stay maybe one or two days in Vancouver post cruise. Can I do this thru NCL or should I book it on my own? Have been to Honolulu before and I know it takes me at least 2 days for my body to adjust.
  11. It came out to about $140pp - it was usually more than we pay but it was so worth it.
  12. The first part of the tour was mostly in the car with great commentary from Joey. We drove up a "mountain" and stopped at a look out point for great photos and views. Then we went to the National Park - cave and coastal views. Then on to the beach where we swam with the sea turtles. There are showers there so you can freshen up before lunch. Lunch was a 5 minute drive from the beach on a hill, overlooking the turtle beach. Then back to the ship. Perfect day
  13. what did you end up doing? we are going in March, on a Sunday.
  14. company name? how many on your tour (we would have 8). looking for something to do - it will be a Sunday.
  15. If you are looking for something special to do while in Curacao, look no further than Gone Caribe. The Turtle Experience was amazing - lots of beautiful scenery stops before ending at the beach to swim with the turtles. Our guide, Joey, was fantastic - knowledgeable and passionate about Curacao. This is a private tour - we had 4 adults and was worth every penny. Some hiking is involved, but nothing too strenuous and the views are so worth it. Lunch overlooking the turtle beach was delicious. Perfect day.
  16. you can try to board with them - worst case is that they will make you wait. We are in the same situation - our friends have a boarding time an hour after ours. We chose to wait and board at 1pm with them - not a big deal since we are driving (2 hours) to port and can plan accordingly. Can't wait to be on board this afternoon
  17. Have you considered the refreshment package? If you drink a lot of soda products and coffee, it may be worth it
  18. October should be a good month to go - weather in Boston and Maine will be cooler than you may be used to but not horrible. If you go early in month, you may see more foliage. Boston is a great walking city, plenty to see and do. Stay a few days before or after to enjoy it to the fullest.
  19. we have an annual policy - but we cruise at least 2 times a year and do another land tour of some type. At our ages (63 & 66), we are more interested in covering medical expenses rather than the cost of the trip. The annual policy covers everything we need.
  20. Personally, I would try to get it fixed before you board - Guest Services can be a nightmare the first day. That way, you can get on board and start enjoying yourselves.
  21. Looking forward to your review as we will be on the same itinerary late January. Have fun
  22. Welcome to Boston - hope you have some time to enjoy our beautiful city. Little rain this morning, but cleared up during our morning walk. My favorite season is fall - such a beautiful time of year. Watch out for the college students moving in this week. Enjoy your next cruise and can't wait to read about your adventures.
  23. And it's supposed to be in the 90s in Boston this weekend until early next week - can't imagine packing for the trip you are on. I'm beginning to think about packing for my trip to Iceland - 2 more weeks!
  24. Thanks for the pictures in Akureyri. We will arrive at 8am on September 13th and can't get into our hotel until early afternoon. I let my daughter arrange what to do for that morning. LOL...............as soon as I saw your pictures of the Christmas House, I knew that was where we would go. Asked my daughter, and, yep, she was so excited to let me know that was her plan all along. Looking forward to visiting. And..........have you been to Boston? How long will you have here? Weather should be lovely by the time you get here. I love late summer/early fall. Let me know if you need any suggestions - but I'm sure you have been here before.
  25. Been folllowing this from the start and sounds like you're enjoying yourselves. We will be flying into Akureyri from Reykjavik (spending 3 days there) for our son's wedding in 3 weeks. Looking forward to your postings from the north country. He is getting married at Asbyrgi Canyon and we are staying about 30 minutes from Akureyri. Would love some insight as to what to do. Safe travels.
