I'm sure Royal has no problem filling their sailings because many are clueless about GBNP
I suspect you are right about this. I bet many (most?) people that do an Alaskan cruise probably think all Alaskan cruises are similar, and aren't aware of how amazing Glacier Bay is.

If it's not about the itinerary why go to Alaska? The two ships mentioned go to the same tourist ports all the other cruise lines visit. While the Endicott Fjord and Dawes is beautiful, it can't hold a candle to Glacier Bay National Park, my opinion of course.
Exactly. I would suspect that for most people, it very much is about the itinerary for Alaskan cruises.

Geographically it’s in Haiti
Ah ok. I thought you said it wasn't in Haiti.

My honest opinion: neither. Both of those ships, IMHO, are too big for Alaska. In addition, RCI/Celebrity does not go into Glacier Bay.
I agree with this. Glacier Bay National Park is not to be missed! Consider going on a cruise line that goes there.

Sailing with RCI to Labadee is not traveling to Haiti.
Huh???

Not sure when you were planning on adding the other person, but just be aware that you may or may not be able to add them, depending on muster station capacity and availability.

Nope.

On top of that the pool area would be in the shade majority of the day because of the slides and pool area above.
Works for me! I'm careful about skin cancer.

- **Crowds on Sea Days**: The pool deck was slammed on sea days, and finding a chair was nearly impossible. We even encountered some weird aggression from fellow guests, which was disappointing. There’s plenty of entertainment around the ship, but if you’re hoping for pool time on sea days, it’s tough.
This seems to be a common complaint for this ship...too many people in/around the pools.

Food is subjective but in general the food has gone downhill. You will not starve but don’t plan to be amazed either.
Agreed. This has been one of my biggest complaints.

For us, once a day cleaning is a bonus. Normally, we are coming back from a busy day ashore. toss all of our stuff on the bed, and taking a quick shower before dinner. We used to have to "clean up" so the cabin steward could "fluff the pillows". Now we just leave the chaos in the room until we get back and get ready for bed.
Of course you always had the option of having once per day service.

Does everyone in your party have TSA precheck? Will you be checking luggage at the airport, or will it be carry-on?

On land, a cheeseburger and fries at Five Guys is nearly $20 where I live. JR's is still a bargain.
Except that you've already paid for lunch on a cruise ship.

Plus 18% gratuity, and port taxes at some ports, plus milkshakes if you order them, they are included with Refreshment and Deluxe packages and Crown and Anchor members get a discount on your two JR milkshakes per cruise. If you paid $5. in 2017 you were likely getting a discount. The lowest I can remember was $6.95 per person on Majesty, (it was the only specialty restaurant) and we may have gotten a discount off that rate too. The good old days! 😅
It was actually included (no extra charge) at first. Then it was $5.

At this point, it looks like tropical storm force winds could impact Tampa from Wednesday morning to Friday morning. It doesn't look like it will impact Galveston.

Because I’m tired of irrelevant insertions into the discussion. If Labadee is open, the ship will port there. If it isn’t, we will port elsewhere. The presence or absence of insurance, or the threat of an insurance denial if we port there makes no difference to what actually happens on the cruise.
Very true! I was pointing out that for Brits that don't purchase travel insurance, the warnings about Labadee wouldn't matter in regards to insurance.

Irrelevant
Then why did you say "there will be no Brits onboard when we dock in Labadee"?

You are certainly entitled to make your own decision on when and where to cruise, so I guess there will be no Brits on board when we dock in Labadee in two weeks. 😥
Not everyone purchases travel insurance.

Question is, does it really matter if its in a check in bag? Does Royal inspect/x-ray check-in luggage?
Yes. See post #51.

Many don’t use the Spa benefit. What do you think they should provide instead?
Many don’t use the free photo benefit. What do you suggest they provide instead?
And the list goes on, and on for every other benefit they provide.
mI think you are responding to the wrong person with this. I'm not the one that suggested that they change anything. I was restating what the OP had asked about...providing an option.

Correct. That is now not allowed.

There is an option, vouchers can be used for anything including non-alcoholic drinks. Just to maximize the benefit you would want to spend it on $14 drinks which is typically alcohol.
I realize that and agree with what you say. I was just pointing out that nobody in this thread has suggested taking anything away.

This whole thread suggests taking something away , cuz that's what would happen if they start making 'changes' to it !
No, it's not about taking anything away. It's about providing an option for those that don't drink alcohol.

I agree also. Being near the stairs and elevators would be a bigger worry for me.
