I received a "Final Reminder Last Chance" email today re: Shorex Booking, from V for my upcoming cruise, 2 weeks out. Says all shorex -- included and optional --must be booked online, prior to boarding. Also only 2 days left to make bookings, and no bookings can be made whilst onboard. Called V, rep says, yes that's the policy. I do not remember this policy from 3 prior cruises. Comments, please. Thanks

@Hlitner I encourage you to do your Live From on your upcoming cruise. I think it will be well received, especially because you will be honest, candid, and will back up your post with facts.

Watching Deals and Sales On Oceania Cruises for Sport
FetaCheese replied to Sthrngary's topic in Oceania Cruises
Hello, I remembered from last Sept Regatta, that you said you booked it, since you asked us to join you and spouse JT. Please come back to let us know if O will re-price it for you. -
Your quote: "Note about Baristas. Paulo, the barista, is a great asset to Oceania. A very pleasant man". If same guy, Italian, we had him on Insignia in 2019. Agree with your positive assessment of him.

Yes, I noticed O changed it from 50% to 40% a few weeks ago. Per T&C's: Capacity controlled, can be withdrawn at any time, and for new bookings only. -
Watching Deals and Sales On Oceania Cruises for Sport

I have 3 cruises of interest saved to account. 2 were on New Year Sale. Wrote fares of 2 cats. on 29 Feb. Checked all 3 today, 01 March. 1. The Cruise which was not on sale: same fares w/o air, however air increased $100 pp. (Still not on sale) 2. 14 nite cruise: fares increased $400 pp in both cats. Air same as Sale Fare air. Shorex credit same. No longer on New Year Sale. 3. 16 nite cruise: fares increased $700 pp in both cats. Air same as Sale Fare air. Shorex credit same. No longer on New Year Sale. The New Year Sale is extended, some dif voyages added, and obviously some removed. If interested, please report your findings. Thanks -
Sorry, don't know answers. Hopefully @Flatbush Flyer will see your topic and give advice.

If the class is important to you, I suggest you book it and pay for it with a Credit card. When TA OBC is posted once onboard, you could ask GS to refund your cash payment, and apply OBC.

Watching Deals and Sales On Oceania Cruises for Sport

I Understand that UK residents pay fares with grats included. Curious. Do you know if a UK resident is able to book with a USA TA, and pay some fares as USA residents?. Grats are then added onto ones account, which can adjusted up or down. -
I did. Keeping visual acuity sharp !

@gymfreak I recall that on Star Dec./Jan. 2024, we had glass bottles of Schweppes Tonic in cabin fridge.
-
The "Viking Bistecca" we had on Menu #4, ribeye off bone, was to me, the old "Bistecca Fiorentina". Had it 2 times on Star. Was perfectly prepared to my preference by Joseph, the superstar "Grill Man".

V included shorex: mostly bus panoramic with a few stops, or walking tours. With money saved one can purchase SB shorex that you would want to experience. However, The HNL Pearl Harbor Tour was a highlight of recent Hawaiian Islands Sojourn cruise. Also took us us to Cemetery of the Pacific -- Punchbowl.
-
I also missed the old menu -- Osso Bucco especially. However, the calamari-shrimp app was really fine -- had it 3 times. Another new item was the grilled seafood entree. Be sure to try the new Castanea dessert.

I think I may have posted a photo of the new menu, when I was on the Star. I started a "Live From Viking Star Hawaiian Island Sojourn 28 Dec. 2023" Topic is active again, as @SantaFe1 is on Star now, same itin., continuing Live From if you want to look for it, in the 1st few pages. Sorry did not save it to my phone.

I did not receive it in the post like you did. Was on Regatta, Sept 2023, when Allura itins. announced. Each cabin had the huge brochure. Wanted to take it home, but, oh so heavy. Came home and ordered it from O website, receiving confirm email. Never came. Called up a couple months later to enquire, and rep ordered it again. Still never came. I just ordered it again today from website. We shall see. Learned from Seatrade Cruise News, O has a new magazine/brochure called Your World. Also ordered it from website. Hoping both will arrive. Maybe they don't want me back!

V included shorex: Dependent on quality of guide. Have had some really terrific guides -- knowledgeable, personable. And some not so.

Weather and Clothing - Chilean Fjords in March

@Big Dan Over on Oceania board, check topic: "Mumbling about Marina" they are there now. -
SSBP $25 pp cost includes grats. Also, if you purchase by the drink, grat also included. V prices seem very reasonable by the drink. SSBP also includes most wine/spirits tasting events and you would receive a 20% discount on bottles/ drinks over $50. We personally love Manfredis Italian. A revised menu, some subtractions and additions, from prior cruises. Not sure which ship you're on, but V is using 4 different Manfredis menus. We were on Star, in Dec/Jan and it was menu #4. Will be on Star again in March, so not sure which menu will be offered.
