  1. We were also on Equinox in October. I complained about them moving/adding the smoking area to Starboard. Much of deck 5 was unusable as there was smoking forward on the port side and mid starboard. I don't know what they changed the smoking section , i only hope that is not the new norm.
  2. It looks like Brent will be back on Solstice in 2020 as well as a couple of cruises on Reflection. He does a lot of speaking engagements with schools, what a treat for those kids! http://www.naturetalksbybrentnixon.com/
  3. On Equinox in Oct. We had 4 snorkel excursions, never needed a jacket after, just a dry towel! The air is warm, unless you “run cold” I don’t see the need for fleece or a jacket.
  4. My guess would be Captain Tasos. If he has standard 3 month contract he should be at the helm thru Jan.
  5. The speed on our recent Equinox cruise was slow, constantly disconnected.
  6. We were on the EQ Oct 14 cruise, We talked to the housekeeping manager. He confirmed that footstools had been ordered and “hopefully they will arrive by the end of the year” . He told us they are small and will fit under the chair when not in use.
  7. We tried LPC on Equinox. Wouldn't have done it for the $55 they were asking! To charge more for LPC than Tuscan or Murano is crazy. It was fun for one time. The food average, the main course of steak was tough and the frites were oily and soggy. I will miss Qsine.
  8. 1. Generally no theme nights in Alaska on Solstice 2. Look at cruise critic for Solstice reviews close to sail date that may mention shows or post the Daily planner 3. Very Rare to have towel animals 4. Cant help with that If Brent Nixon is onboard as the naturalist, his presentations are very good. Educational and entertaining! The excursion at Tracy Arm where you disembark the ship and board a vessel that (hopefully) gets you up much closer to the glacier is worth the $$. And only bookable thru Celebrity.
  9. We disembarked yesterday, happy to be able to follow along with you! Jesse Hamilton performed on our cruise, we dont go to a lot of shows but went to both of his! If you have the comedian, Rich, he is also very good. Just don't arrive late! Pedro and Jay were among our our fave World class bartenders. I hope they get a few more customers this cruise! I noted in your Daily - the smoking section on deck 5. We we quite disappointed on our itinerary they had smoking on deck 5 port forward and starboard mid. That was our only “complaint” of the trip! Enjoy!
  10. I was doing OLCI for a cruise yesterday, our CC numbers were missing and when I tried to add them, they weren’t accepted. I was getting a bit panicked (we cruise on the 14th) as I knew the numbers were correct. I emailed our TA who had them added and now our status shows on the Express Pass. Must be an issue with the website, imagine that 😆😌
  11. I don't think loyalty comes into play in their making the decision to charter the ship. However, 7 months out is just not right regardless of status. I am surprised they are not offering OBC or anything else for you to cruise on a different date.
  12. We cruised Solstice mid Sept. I believe it was the first or 2nd cruise with the new menus. We don't book suites often enough that I was tired of the old menus 😊 I found that often the description did not match what was served, (without looking at the menus) one that stands out was we ordered rack of lamb one night but it was a lamb loin.
  13. They are also using paper straws on Solstice. They must be the cheapest brand they can find. The flavor of drink changed and tasted like cardboard, some had holes and none lasted a full drink, whether it was a cocktail or latte. In the meantime, thanks for a reminder to find an environmentally friendly alternative for our next cruise! Perhaps stock pile some from local restaurants that have better quality! 😆
  14. Just off 10 days on Solstice on this itinerary, our 5th cruise on Solstice in 3 years. We’ve never been on Eclipse but they are both S class ships, sure Solstice is older but a downgrade? The ship is clean , well maintained and a happy crew.
  15. We've only done 1 TA, last year on Pursuit! What did we do? Sleep in, meet friends for coffee at Mosaic, play trivia or wander around the ship, have lunch, walk, lay by the pool, play trivia or some other activity, do the occasional load of laundry, nap, eat, dance, drink repeat. Amazing how quickly the time passed.
