Welcome Everyone,
My name is Noele and I am from upstate NY(Cairo, NY). Originally from Queens, NY. This will be my families 1st ever cruise. We were suppose to sail on the maiden voyage of the Norwegian Encore to Bermuda and then it got cancelled due to the pandemic. There will be 8 of us( 5 adults, 3 kids-7, 12, and 14). Looking forward to getting to meet some wonderful people on this cruise.
Hope you will have an awesome first cruise and become a cruise addict like me.

July 17 can’t come soon enough!!!
You are right about that. Feels good I don't have to take a flight to Florida to get on a decent Carnival ship

Why would they celebrate the 4th of July on an international ship with international passengers in international water?
They don't have fireworks on July 1st for Canadians. They don't do anything on June 12th for the Philippines. Nothing on July 14th. Nothing on Aug 15th. All equally important dates for the citizens of these countries.
I don’t think it has to do with the international crowd. Carnival do cater to mainly American passengers. The celebrate Christmas even though most Chinese don’t and there are Chinese passengers. There are other countries that doesn’t celebrate Christmas.
I think some of the reasons for not doing fireworks are 1. Expenses, 2. Fire danger and 3. Preventing false alerts. Imagine a ship in a distance seeing lights going up and turn back thinking it’s another ship signifies help. Maybe that last point is not too legit but you get the point.- 1

Thanks all from the info. I’ll try to get in fast and head straight to GS. I’ll have the two that need to be switched talk to GS and get new cards.

The Wife and I are in separate rooms. We had to book this way because the adult guest in the other room is cruising for the first time so she does not have any good offers.
My question is… Will it be easy for my wife to get switched to my room while onboard? Is it simple just going to GS and get different keys or will they likely give us a hard time?

Not every balcony can be opened up to each other for use by guests.
This is correct. I am talking about the ones that can open. Instead of someone bringing tools to open it themselves they could just ask the RS.

While I have not been in those specific rooms, I've sailed the Magic several times. Every room that we have stayed had dividers that you could open. I always pack a multi tool which will open the divider.
Why not just ask the RS to open it up. I ask my travel agent to put in the request for me and when I reach my room they are already opened.

saw the movie, it will be so nice. We are almost ready to sail on Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas on 14 January out of Galveston. That is in 4 days and back on 19 January. 14th is my birthday, first time on cruise ship for my birthad.
March 5 on Carnival Celebration in Miami. Then to the Venezia in September.
Awesome. Hope you have a great trip. Happy early birthday. I celebrated my birthday on a cruise ship in 2019

I believe most balcony dividers can be opened up between rooms, since they do that when
cleaning balconies.
Most balconies can only be opened at one side. That means the room on the next side would not be able to open up to it.

I'm surprise they took it out of service so early and hasn't started dry dock as yet. I hope they check on propulsion issues so that it doesn't have those issues like the rest of the Vista class ships. Can't wait to see her. Something new with the unique theme.

yes, it is a way to go, but fortunately for me 70 for Celebration, and 20 days for Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas. I am eager to see your review of Venezia, when you sail for the good and bad.
I’ll definitely be posting a review

go to you tube, look up Carnival Venezia, today and the video will be 2022 December Follow the Fun. Most interesting the strada grill will be kept for Italian sandwiches and food, no charge.
I think I’ve watched almost all the Venezia videos. 🥰
205 days left for me.

That's exciting -great 16th bday trip. I'm going with my one daughter (just turned 15). My other daughter (her twin) didn't want to go- so husband is staying with her. Taking a bus to port (drove last time (2019) to Bayonne NJ with royal) less stressful- I hope- from upstate ny
I am surprised she doesn't want to go. I wish I was offered a free cruise. lol

Glory has a special place in my heart because it was the first ship I cruised on.

I worry about Venezia being delayed June 19th.

I understand why you are worried and that's why I don't like to book on the first 2 cruises. However, in this case you will be fine. The ship is currently out of service and they can start work early if needs be. Just make sure you leave everything spanking new so when I go on it in July I can enjoy it 🙂
