We have been cruising for many years. Over those years the talent in production shows improved. Now, due to economics, it is reversing a bit, but still much better than our first cruises. We still enjoy them and do not mind going early to get our seat of choice
Very interesting info on the travel scoot. I think that at least for now, we plan to stay home. Dh is 88 and I am close. Yes, I know some cruise into their 90s and we are happy for them but we have lasted longer than many
Yes, we did use that system. It was a bit of a hassle. The walkers often need to be folded and carried in the hallways to pass the steward carts. We have done many cruises and have decided we are just not up for it any more. It was a good run, but now time for a plan B
As many of us know, handicap cabins are often not available. We just discovered on the Crown that a mini-suite door was not wide enough for a walker to pass through unless folded. I am assuming that the opening was 22 inches as I know a scooter width must not be more than 22 inches. Does anyone know if the door opening are wider on the newer ships?
I have been following along with you on this spectacular trip and enjoying it thoroughly. We booked the cruise for next year but your reports have helped us decide that we are just too old to enjoy it in the way that we have in the past. We are 86 and 88 and now must just enjoy the memories and we do have wonderful ones. That is such gorgeous water. We could enjoy it without the snorkeling but climbing in and out of boats can be a problem even for the views.
We are enjoying the same cruise. I followed someone’s advice and booked starboard and am so glad Many of the sights are just off the balcony. We even had a smaller iceberg float by very close with 20 to 30 penguins. Shortly before the cruise, there were many more port cabins available than starboard. There was a reason.
We have a cruise booked for next November and just agreed to purchase flights thru Celebrity.
Celebrity did not give me a confirmation number to check the flights on the airline schedule. When do they do that? We chose the option to not pay for the flights until final booking.
