I was surprised to get a casino discount on VOV 35 day cruise starting July 2023

Does a Casino forum/thread still exist on Cruise Critic, could anyone share a link? (I searched but I can't locate it) Thank You!

My surprise too. I automatically said no to HIA, but for a little over $200 will get the internet, my coffees, water and up to $100 on a tour, so rep talked me into trying it. The 1/2 price person cannot buy it, so yes, only 1 in the cabin buys it. If both had to buy it, we would not have bothered because only one needs the internet. I can easily do without it but DH likes to have it.

I got the offer and booked a Caribbean cruise starting March 27. I called my new Holland rep and she told me that it also qualifies for the all inclusive for me at 50% off. My DH cannot have it since he is paying only 50% for the cruise price...I am not much of a drinker but at that price decided to give it a try. Pretty sweet deal. So, if you also don't know about it, you might want to ask.

I did not get an email about a Holland Casino cruise but booked one of their online offers for a $200 obstructed window. A rep told me that was a casino cruise and we would get the $200 each back as onboard credit. My booking does not say that. Is she correct?

What happens with testing on b2b on different ships?

There was no medical reason. We were just concerned about covid and decided to give it a pass.

Just in case this info helps anyone, we cancelled a Christmas cruise shortly before the cruise was scheduled. We filed under PCP. We did not get a refund for the ins cost. The taxes were refunded to the credit card. The FCC we received for the balance has an expiry date of Dec 31, 3023.
Let's try Dec 31, 2023. That was a pretty bad typo

I cancelled my Dec 19 cruise on Royal. I filed an online claim with AON before the end of the year. They responded a few days ago that I did not qualify for refund which I knew. I was surprised to get the FCC posted to my account 2 days ago. That was fast.

I just got my letter from AON after cancelling a Christmas cruise due to covid fears. My claim does not qualify for cash payment from them which I knew. It took about 2 weeks to get the letter. They said that if I qualify ( I do), I will get an FCC from Princess in a few weeks.

I also would like to thank you for your account of being in isolation on the ship. It was a wonderful report for many reasons. However, I have been looking for the ending and not finding it. Are you healthy now. Are you off the ship and if so did you have a good trip home? I would so enjoy the ending of the story and I do wish you both a healthy and happy new year.

I cancelled a cruise in August and received a statement of the amount including an FCC number. Now I have cancelled 2 more cruises. I have more FCCs in my account but received no statement of which cruise it is from and the amount makes no sense so hard to identify. Are any of you receiving statements?

We just cancelled our March Hawaii cruise on the last day before penalty was due so that we would get a refund not a credit. We had paid a couple of weeks ago since we use a TA.

What is the difference between these two programs? If a person chooses to cancel within 30 days of sail date, do you invoke the Book with Confidence or the Cancel for any Reason using your Princess platinum insurance?
When I first started reading the book with confidence plan it seemed like you had to have tested positive or currently have Covid, then after reading further it wasn’t clear if that was the case.
Has anyone recently cancelled their cruise within the 30 days of sail date and did you cancel with the book with confidence or with your travel insurance?
I have done both. Within 30 days, you must first fill out a form on AON and they must notify princess. This adds an extra layer so possible delay with mistakes such as we had. They processed the credit for my DH but not for me, so long wait to fix. When we cancelled in the book with confidence period (more than 30 days), it just went thru Princess with no extra paper work. I don't know yet if the credit comes faster. Still waiting. No illness was involved. We were just being very cautious. We had elite ins.

Thanks to all who responded. DH like to go get the morning coffee but he has trouble walking distances so I want to pick a cabin easy for him.

Where can you buy specialty coffee on the Emerald other than the International Cafe?
Looking for early morning coffee.

Wow, that was really fast. Sounds like you have had good experience with the cancellation process. That's some small consolation I suppose. I bet you're rather be able to cruise though, right? But we have to do what's right for us based on our situation. I have considered canceling our Feb 2022 cruise and scheduling something later in the year with whatever FCC is remaining after my refund. However, I talked to my wife yesterday and she is much less interested in canceling! Well, let's hope the virus situation improves, because we gotta do what the wives want, correct?😉
Doug
Oh, yes. This round of covid might taper off by mid-Feb. Our cruise the end of Nov felt quite safe. There was much less covid at that time.

Three days after I cancelled our cruise with Princess, we had the port fees, internet payment and water charge refunded to our credit card. AON confirmed that I had filed a claim and they would either let me know they needed more info or would process and the FCC credit would show up in my Princess account

Merry Christmas to you too. Today is the day my cancelled cruise is sailing. I am at home on a rainy nasty day, but better off here than worried about isolation on a ship. We only cancelled 2 days before this cruise. We will only get cash back for the taxes and Port fees. The rest will be an FCC to be used I suspect by 12/31/22. We had booked a b2b but had to cancel the second week due to a must keep doctor treatment. That time I think we got 25% of the cruise fee back in cash, and for the taxes. The rest was an FCC credit. That was cancelled a little over a month before the cruise. I did not need to file a claim for that. It was covered under "cruise with confidence" and just showed up in our accounts in a few weeks. Check both of your accounts and make sure your get the proper refund.

I booked a Princess cruise about a year ago. I paid the deposit at that time, and made the final payment a few weeks ago. In between time I bought Princess' Vacation Protection insurance; bought it early to start the "60 day pre-existing" clause. One major reason I bought Princess' insurance for this trip was the CFAR reason provision, which I snipped and included here.
My question is has anyone used that provision to cancel "on their own", such as they just changed their mind after paying the final payment? And how long is that Princess future cruise credit valid? I thought I read somewhere it was only until April 2022 to book something. I like to be prepared.😳
Doug
Doug, we are going thru that process now. I used the Princess chat line to cancel on Sunday. Rep was no help, just said "too late for cruise with confidence" and she would send cancellation notice. She did not. Second rep sent one showing the cancellation fee which is for the full cruise. The cruise leaves today. Still, confused, I did another chat. This rep had no clue but took the time to check with the proper dept. (about a 45 minute wait) and confirmed that I had to go thru AON. Their website has a nice and easy form. Looks like I just need to send a copy of the cancellation fee, booking number and copy of itinerary and date of cruise. Then I think we just wait to see the credit show up in our Princess accounts. I think it will take at least a couple of weeks. I believe the credit will be good until 12/31/2022. We cancelled because of covid. We are in are 80's. We have other cruises booked this year to use the credits.

I get it too. Frustrating!

We did. You first have to file with AON. Then Princess gives you the FCC. It takes a few weeks to get it. We got our port fees and excursions refunded in a couple of days. The FCC is good until the end of 2023. Very smooth and easy.
